We love VITAL! I came to Dr. Whitley with pain that I had been experiencing for TWO years after having my baby. I received chiro care from a different provider while pregnant and after. I am so glad a friend recommended this place to me. I was initially concerned that I wouldn't be able to get regular appointments that accommodated me because I had to schedule my initial consultation so far out, but that was due to the fact that there is a larger time slot needed for the first appointment. I was so excited that BirthFit opened in the Heights and that it's her :) I was also on the lookout for a pediatric craniosacral chiropractor nearby, and through another momma friend, found Dr. Whitley! She graciously saw us on the 4th of July, spent time with us, and we've been coming back ever since! She doesn't take insurance, but it is because of that, I think, that her rates are so affordable. Parents, there is also a kid area for the kiddos to play in, FYI, complete with chalkboard wall and diaper changing station (with diapers in sizes 1-2). I've never been more disappointed in a business. I'm pregnant and was looking for a Webster certified family chiropractor in the area. After extensive research I was thrilled to find Vital Chiro. I loved the ethos promoted on their website, and they had great reviews. I was definitely seeing them through rose colored glasses, as I ignored the first red flag that no one ever answered the phone. I probably called 10 times on different days and at different times before I could finally catch someone. I spoke with Dr John and inquired about their offerings and prices. I also inquired if they treated men, as my husband wanted to receive care as well. He assured me that they treat men since he started working there, though as far as I understand, when it was just his wife they did not. We finally got our intake appointments scheduled, and payed the very high fee for intake + testing. We each received two adjustments and underwent the intake tests. After this we were given sheets of paper with our potential treatment plan and told we could call to schedule follow up appointments. I asked the secretary (I can't recall her name) when the best time to call was, as I had experienced such difficulties getting our first appointment scheduled. She answered snarkily that I could call anytime, and that if there was no answer I needed to leave a message so they'd be able to call me back. Since then (over a month ago), I've called countless times on different days at different times trying to get ahold of them. I've left a message each and every time. They've never answered or called me back. Recently I learned from their email list that Dr. John left to start his own practice way out in the suburbs. He never mentioned this was his plan when we were seeking treatment. Now even if they would answer I'm not sure if they'd see my husband. I was prescribed chiropractic care by my midwife that I've been unable to receive because they never answer. I sought treatment here despite the fact that 100% of the costs come out of pocket at a very expensive point in my life because I believed it would greatly benefit my health. I came to them in my second trimester. I'm now nearing the end of my third and haven't received care thanks to this business. It feels like we were the victims of a moneygrab. We're new to the area, new to chiropractic care, and it feels like we were taken advantage of--charged the hefty intake fee and then refused further care. The only doctor we ever had contact with was apparently in the throes of starting his own business when he took our money, and never thought to mention this. We're left with a phone number that might as well ring in the North Pole- it seems just as many people are around to answer. Vital: If you're too busy serving current clients, that's fine, but at least add in your voicemail and on your website that you're too full to take on new clients. Don't let people in need of care spend weeks calling, then only treat them for the expensive intake appointment and leave them out to dry. read more

I've been coming here for more than a year now and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Dr. Whitley and Dr. Morgan also have classes for moms and dads to be. As a soon-to-be first time dad, I didn't realize how much knowledge I was lacking but I took a class. Overrated. Convenient location, but I definitely felt like a number. There is no privacy during your service and I rarely saw anyone wipe down the chiropractic tables between clients. I'd give zero if I could. Look, I'm sure that 90% of their clients have a lively experience, but I was one of the unlucky ones. I come from a healthcare and customer service background and let me tell you that "the customer is always right" does not apply at this business. I called to cancel my sons appointment two days in advance because HAND FOOT MOUTH disease is in my household with my daughter having a 103* fever. They would not refund my deposit or let me speak with a decision maker. The front staff was rude. Then the "doctor" called me and without even asking for my side of the story told me that my business wasn't wanted. Ya'll.... I literally work in customer service and I only lost my patience when the staff lost theirs with me. The "doctor" went as far as to hang up on me mid sentence. Just a terrible experience. SIDE NOTE FOR PEOPLE WITH INFANTS AND NEWBORNS: They encourage people to bring sick kids to the practice. If I would have known that, I wouldn't have agreed to take my newborn there in the first place. read more

I started bringing my son to Dr. Whitley when he was 2.5 weeks old at the recommendation of a lactation consultant, and I'm so glad I did! We struggled with breastfeeding from day 1 - he didn't open his mouth wide enough to achieve a good latch, and I had several LCs tell me how tight his jaw was. Dr. Whitley worked on his jaw and cranial movement and also showed me some exercises to do with him at home to improve his jaw mobility. She also gently pushed me to get a second opinion to assess him for lip and tongue ties and referred me to a pediatric dentist who she knew was very skilled at this. Around 8 weeks old, my son started nursing (we attempted latching many times a day from day 1)! Along with promoting better movement for my son, Dr. Whitley was a great source of positivity and support for me in our breastfeeding journey.
