Christina was referred to me in April and I've been coming back ever since even though it's quite a drive for me. It's not easy to be a "California blonde" for Asians and I've had everything from golden locks to Lady Gaga white. Had a Groupon which was for a cut and style with Kristin. When I arrived there were no other clients there. Just like 5 staff members hanging around chatting. Some how this made me feel real awkward... maybe because I am use to walking into busy salons where each staff member is busy with a client. Anyways... irrelevant. Anyways no paper work (fine with me less spam), taken to the chair, asked what I wanted, got my hair washed, got my hair cut, hair dried - 30 mins done! Offered something to drink in the middle of my service... kind of awkward... there were 4 other people doing nothing when I walked in... could of offered me something as soon as I sat down... which is what normally happens at other salons. Anyways I didn't want anything to drink anyways. Groupon was for a cut and style ... I was not really offered how I wanted my hair styled. She just blow dried... no product or anything. Guess that's less pressure to buy product. But I do like it when hair dressers recommend things and show me how to use things. Wasn't a bad hair cut. Frustrated experience! I went Thursday at the Vital Touch Spa Salon to book my appointment, the person named Kristin came and talked to me. I have blond hair (platinum) and at that time my hair had a horrible yellowish root. I told Kristin I want to put brown locks on my platinum hair and also remove the yellowish from the root of my hair, okay she said she would do it. She said we combine a service package worth $100 including cut and hair style. I told Kristin that Saturday I would come back. Now I will talk about my frustration. Kristin practically painted my hair in brown only. I love my platinum hair, I asked Kristin to make just a few brown locks in my platinum hair and Kristin overdrew the brown locks in my hair, leaving no platinum color in my hair. When I looked at my hair I hated to see my hair too dark. After that, Kristin leaves. And left me with no haircut and no hair style. WOW! How can she leave without finishing what she promised? Kristin is a professional hairdresser? That was the question I asked myself. A simple hair service Kristin did not know how to do. After that, the manager Christina came and cut my hair and also did the hair style. Kristin told the manager that the service would cost $140. What? Excuse me! I came on Thursday and Kristin said she would charge me $100 and why now is $140? The manager said that Kristin was not there and that she had gone to dinner. I said call Kristin and the manager refused to call her. The manager Christina acted totally without respect. Kristin asked the manager Christina to charge me $140 and make me sound like a liar. Unfortunately I was forced to pay $120. Worse, I did not like the result of Kristin's service and had an embarrassing situation at the time of payment. Feeling very frustrated! Two weeks later I had to spend $100 on another hair salon to platinum my hair. I wasted time and money at Vital Touch spa and I was totally disrespected by the hairdresser Kristin. read more

SNOOTY AND UNETHICAL. Called to get a "Swedish massage" for me and friend at $65. Confirmed the appointment plus the amount a week before and then again on entering the shop. Brisa, the manager, also the daughter of the owner flippantly asked me for $85 because I received a "deep tissue massage". Whoa, where did she come up with that? She indicated that the masseur had administered that because he concentrated on my back and shoulders. He did ask me if there were any areas that I wanted him to work on and I said those...so, under the parameters of a Swedish massage, that's what I felt he was doing and he certainly NEVER said that if he was doing strokes that weren't "Swedish", it would be an extra 20 bucks. Brisa had already taken $85 from my friend, who also was not asked or told there would be an additional charge. My friend and I get weekly massages, so there was a huge potential of business which Brisa totally blew with her flippant, snarky attitude and unfriendly demeanor. She seems to feel that because her mother owns the shop she can get away with this kind of behavior of outright lying. The massage therapists were ok, not great, and there are all kinds of noise and hair dryer sounds and people carrying on and laughing and coming and going. Not very relaxing. It's been 3 weeks and I'm still infuriated at Brisa's smug, cocky, dismissive attitude. read more

After scouring Yelp and the internet for a place to get a good Bikini Wax, I eventually went into Vital after just driving by it going to the grocery store. This was only my second Bikini Wax, so I'm speaking as a beginner for all of you ladies out there who are curious and maybe a little nervous. Brittany was wonderful. She helped to lighten the mood and her conversation was the perfect balance of chatting with you to put you at ease, and explaining the technical aspects of what she was doing so you knew what was going on "down there." Everything was very clean and pretty looking. They use two kinds of wax, one that they put on in thick layers to get the bulk of the hair, and then a more traditional honey wax to catch all the strays. And when it came to waxing the "rear end" I was totally surprised (in a good way). It was virtually painless and Brittany showed me a great technique for doing it in a less awkward way so you don't feel like a dog sticking its but in the air. I'm very happy with the results. They are a little pricey (I payed $45 for the "playboy" wax plus $10 tip). It would be worth it to come here for one of your first waxing experiences so you can talk to someone who really knows what they're doing. I came here because I had a gift certificate and the reviews were okay from SpaFinder. I got in a few minutes early in case I needed to fill out any paperwork, which I did not. I was then advised that the masseuse was running behind. I had to wait about 20 minutes, which was fine, since I always run late myself. The massage was nice and relaxing, but I kept getting distracted by the creaking on the walls in the room I was in. Im not sure if it was an add on, or what, but every time someone opened the door to the salon, or whenever the air conditioner kicked in the walls would creak. (Also because I wanted to find out if they had any openings for an estheticitian position.) Their ambiance is great--bright lighting, modern interiors and a clean layout. Brittany was my stylist and she did a great job listening to me and creating layers in my hair without taking away too much of the length. She made conversation with me without being too chatty. Paid $50 for my haircut plus a $10 tip. The only negative factor I noticed was that she took forever blow drying my hair. I don't know if she was deliberately taking her time while waiting for another client or if that was just the way she worked. I did like the fact, however, that she used the same Schwarzkopf products that I currently use at home. Grabbed a copy of their pretty spa menu on the way out.
