I love Vitales Deli. I grew up down the street and I totally wish this was here when I was younger. The quality of their products are high and it's absolutely delicious. The variety of sandwiches they offer are wide, and they also offer good sides like pasta and potato salad. The bread is fresh from the hill, and they have frozen options to take home as well. They always chat with me and make convo, it's been pleasant experiences each time I've visited. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a couple umbrellas outside to sit and enjoy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Check them out!

My friend and I were craving sandwiches and saw Vitale's as an option online. He specifically wanted a caprese sandwich, which he ordered and I got the "Annie" turkey sandwich. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and the sandwiches were a good size for the price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There isn't a ton of seating nearby and it seems to be more of an order and go place, but it was a nice day so we sat outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall would definitely recommend and I hope to be back to try the other sandwiches sometime!

This place is great! We've tried it twice since we moved back to the area. This place is only a 10 minute walk from our house, and that's so cool to me. It's awesome to see a locally-owned restaurant that you can walk or bike to, it seems like everything nowadays is so car-dependent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is nothing fancy, a very small space with some outdoor patio tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, the service is great. Both times I've been, they've asked how my days been and even thrown in some free items to sample. It's awesome to actually feel welcomed in an establishment. The sandwiches are great, they use the bread from Vitale's Bakery (they are owned by the same family). I've tried the Crazy Frank (okay, not my favorite), Glendale Club (good, basic), The Steve Pastrami (really good), and The Charlie Roast Beef (really good au jus). My only complaint is that the sandwiches are pretty bread heavy, but I just pick the bread out. Come early in the day, they sell out a ton and close early sometimes! Get a cannoli if you can, they're great!

Everything about my experience at Vitale's Deli was absolutely lovely! I visited on a Saturday around noon, and an employee said that they were almost sold out for the day. Glad I made it in time! The interior of the restaurant is very small. There's no tables inside, but there's a small bench for waiting. They also have some nice seating options outside. This is more of a grab-and-go spot. Vitale's offers a great menu selection. I ordered the The Zach, which includes Black Forest turkey, provolone cheese, tomato, and onion, and it's toasted and topped with pesto. Wow! This is a fabulous sandwich. I especially loved their fresh bread slight toasted. My partner ordered The Annie Turkey, which includes pepper turkey, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles, topped with a Cajun-styled mayonnaise. He loved his sandwich as well. They also offer a great variety of chips to go along with your sandwich. I personally loved my Rosemary & Olive Oil chips. Each sandwich comes with a side, so we chose potato salad. Also very good! The most memorable part of my experience was the very end. As we were grabbing our sandwiches and preparing to walk out the door, one of the employees, possibly an owner, handed us a free loaf of bread. I ended up using it to make sandwiches for my lunches throughout the week, and it was perfect! This kind gesture affirmed my theory that Vitale's Deli is a friendly neighborhood favorite. Every customer seemed like a regular, and I can't wait to become one, too!

The service was amazing and the food was delicious! I loved the crunch to the bread and the flavor of the sandwich. I also got a meatball for my child, who has been very picky, but she loved it. So did I! Definitely would go again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wonderful atmosphere amongst walking in!! People eating, food getting made, friendly vibe - what you would want to expect in a local establishment focusing on ready to eat sandwiches.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Macaroni salad noodles weren't overcooked, bread for the sandwich tasted fresh, in and out within 15 minutes (Tuesday at 1:45ish). Look forward to singing praises of Vitale's Deli to friends!!!

Just out of Italy can describe Vitale's Deli located across the street from the City of Gendale on N. Sappington Road. I asked the workers what the favorite was and they said the Pete was #1 seller and the meatball sandwich was also very good. We ordered both... and they were quite tasty! The Pete was H U G E!!!! Reminds me of a recent trip to Italy!

My loaded ! It was filling.

This is a cute, quaint store in Glendale. The inside is very clean, and I was greeted when I entered. I had looked at the menu before, so I knew what I wanted. I ordered the one that was close to a Reuben, on marble rye, with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion. The side I chose was potato salad, and I was happy I did. They only use Boars Head products. The bread was super soft and fresh. The sandwich was good, as was the potato salad. The owner who made the sandwich was friendly and quick. So was the young man who I paid. For the people who like to walk their dogs in front can stop and get them a drink of water, which was a sweet touch. What a great spot in Glendale!

The best deli with the best service! The owner, Mike, makes us feel like we're family every time we go! The Italian sandwich is the best in St. Louis! My husband loves meatball sandwich.

Vitale's is an adorable, family owned Italian sandwich shop in Glendale. The owner and his family were preparing the sandwiches behind the counter. They were so nice and personable! We restrained ourselves and only ordered 4 sandwiches: "The Annie" Turkey, "The Gracie" Meatball, "The Zach" and "The Pete". The Zach and the meatball are both warm sandwiches and were my favorite! The bread is soft on the inside but crusty on the outside. The veggies are all fresh and the sandwiches are extremely filling. They each come with a side. The pasta salad was our favorite! They also offer cannolis and frozen handmade pastas! The do not have any indoor seating, but they have outdoor patio seating. We can't wait to go back and try more!!

Yum! Go here! Nice people, great bread! Cannoli was SO good! Hubby got the pastrami, child one got meatball, child 2 got the Italian (we split because it was big) and picky child 3 they made a grilled cheese for that wasn't on the menu! We will be back!

    Muffaletta sandwich
    Lizzy L.

My friends who were born and raised in St. Louis told me that Vitale's Deli is their all-time favorite deli, so I had to try it out for myself. We ordered the Muffaletta, Italian sandwich, and cannoli a few weeks ago. The parking lot is small but it was easy to find a parking spot. We had called ahead to order but when we arrived they said they forgot to start the order, so we waited a few minutes for our sandwiches. The muffaletta was delicious with tangy olives, TONS of fresh mortadella, ham, and salami, on thick wheat bread. I liked my husband's "The Pete" italian sandwich which had thick layers of ham, salami, roast beef, drizzled with tangy Italian dressing, and cheese. All of the meat and bread was so fresh. And finally, I don't usually like cannolis, I liked the one we tried at Vitale's Deli; crunchy pastry filled with creamy cheesy filling. I want to come back and try their meatball sandwich

What a tasty find in the heart of Glendale! This little neighborhood carry-out deli serves high quality Boar's Head deli meats on their sandwiches. And the meatball sandwich....probably the best I've ever had! It was served nice and hot, on an Italian roll, with just the perfect amount of tomato sauce and cheese!!

Amighetti's scratches that itch and then some. I've only ever ordered delivery from this location so far, but every time it's been perfect. I added a bottle of local root beer to my order and it came very thoughtfully packed in a protective cardboard box. My only criticism is the cole slaw comes in such a tiny container -- but it's likely what you'd expect if you were picking up your work of art from the counter in a basket. Very recommended.

I'd attend such a meeting, but more so for the lulz (but also to share my beliefs). I'm pleased to report that there's none of that going on here, that I'm aware of. Granted, this was a Sunday morning. I was there with my running group as part of our ongoing unofficial breakfast burrito tour, the last such stop until this fall, due to upcoming marathon training. Of course it was the most unpleasant day of the year, maybe ever, with a heat index of 117 (no hyperbole). I changed shirts before I came in and then sweated through that shirt as well. One of the ladies I was with left a gross pool of sweat in her chair after she left. It didn't occur to me to pull a Charlamagne tha God until hours later. I'm growing as a human being. Part of that growth is gradually coming to realize that seasonal lattes, unless they have sort of especially distinct flavor, like banana, aren't going to taste like anything other generic artificial sweetener, let alone what they purport to be. I considered ordering an iced caramel latte, but I figured what the heck. I went with something called a Miso Brown Sugar Latte. It was good for what it was, but I don't know that anyone, if you gave it to them to try, could identify it as that. I liked the fact that it had a somewhat more pronounced coffee flavor, compared to some places where it mostly just tastes like a glass of milk. I wasn't as crazy about the fact that it took a while for the ice cubes to cool it down, probably longer than it would have taken if it were served in a glass cup. I went with something called the Annex Burrito, which I didn't realize until after I ordered it is not the only burrito they carry. I guess you can also get a bog-standard breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs and cheese. This one comes with corn, beans and some sort of unidentified crema for the same amount. Maybe they give you less bacon. Mine didn't have a lot of bacon, but the bacon it did have was not crisp and had a precooked vibe. The latter was more of an issue for me than the former. I'm a savage in that way. I did appreciate the fact that it was griddled, possibly using a panini press. The exterior was ever so slightly crisp, while the interior was pizza roll-level molten. The overall vibe was similar to those microwave burritos they used to carry at 7-11, but in a good way. All I needed was a mini truck enthusiast magazine filled with photos of bikini-clad Latinas and a Windex-blue Slurpee, but I was able to make do with a lukewarm mystery latte and the old ladies I run with. I'm resourceful.
