The most important thing I have to say is about the quality of the ingredients. Every time I eat here, I feel really good afterwards -- almost like I'm eating my mom's cooking. You can tell they care a lot about the selection of ingredients; everything is high quality and organic. That does make the meals a bit expensive, but it's expected with such quality. The workers are really nice and always make me feel welcomed. We love hitting up this spot whenever we're near Neptune. Also, their frozen yogurt is out of this world! It doesn't feel like a typical frozen yogurt spot -- it's made with actual Greek yogurt, which makes this place totally unique. Whenever we're at the beach, we make it a point to stop by for a cup. The vibe here is very chill and laid back, and it's never too crowded, even though the place isn't the biggest. read more

Easily one of my favorite places for a fresh, quality meal. I've never got anything that I haven't liked here. I love their açaí bowls -- though it can get pretty $$$ if you want to customize it any. The same goes for the rest of their bowls and wraps. The taste is worth it, but the price point may be an issue for some. The service is always amazing. One thing also to watch out for -- which is not the fault of the resto in any way -- is that the parking is limited near by. It's the beach. What can you do? read more

Omg, the Mediterranean bowl was amazing. I eat Gluten Free and Dairy free. I have Celiac and they changed gloves and utensils. Shannon explained where they have gluten in the kitchen. I come here all the time for their froyo. It's one of the last places of good froyo in town. The original tart is my fave, and I always get it with bee pollen. I also love how they have free syrups for the yogurts. Service is fast and to the point. I've been here late at night before and they were so kind enough to let me stay inside since it was raining hard despite it being after hours. They are so incredibly kind. The small restaurant gives a hippie health food vibes. Which melds very well with the food they sell. They have a selection of healthy wraps acai bowls, etc. Every time I have a vegetarian friend or gluten free friend with me, this is where I end up taking them. It's very customizable for a variety of food allergies. Very food restriction friendly! Overall, it's a wonderful place to go. The only down side is that the tow trucks randomly come by the area to tow you away even if you just parked to eat a small meal, so it prevents me from coming all the time. But that's not their fault. Just be careful, since the towing company likes to pop by the area and tow for no reason. Else, I'd pop by more often. read more

Got here at 8:45PM not realizing that they closed at 9:00PM. Despite the staff clearly preparing to close up, they all greeted me with friendly smiles and hellos and welcomed any questions I had. I was happy there were kiosks to order so I could take my time looking through the extensive topping options. I got a small açaí bowl with tons of added toppings. The new Riverside location is finally opened! They had their soft opening starting Friday so we stopped in after having a cocktail in 5points. We were the only folks in there besides the chef's mom who came to eat also. I hope that as they are open longer will become more known and more people check it out. The decor is very clean and fresh, it's a very nice looking place. The chef told us all about the menu and the many many vegan options they have on menu as well as every item can be made vegan. For my vegan hubby who is used to having 1 or 2 options when we go out he was overwhelmed. Our food came out quick and was very good. Homespun Kitchen has some nice healthy options for breakfast. I enjoyed the Med Egg wrap for breakfast; it was flavorful and the perfect size. My husband also enjoyed his açaí bowl; the blueberries on top were fresh. He ordered a chicken breast, though, which shockingly came out cold and cubed. It tasted like it had been prepared several days before. I think it would be a good idea to mention that the chicken breast comes out cold and pre cut. This is probably not a common order for someone, but it was still very off putting, and for that reason, I wouldn't return if I was in the area again. read more

They have several options for lattes but no preset seasonal lattes that I could tell. I got the dark chocolate flavor and it was really good. They have self service ordering which is good. The restaurant is slightly small so when it is busy there isnt much room to stand. read more

This place was so good my friend and I came back twice in a day. First of all, the location is awesome. We were able to grab lunch to-go and walk straight to the beach. I created my own salad and it was bomb and super easy with the computers. After the beach, I got a small açaí bowl which was the perfect size for a snack. Love how healthy this place is, perfect for a beach day bite! read more

Fantastic healthy options, lots of wraps, avocado toast, and açaí bowls. Vegan, gluten free, locally sourced, the works. But you can add meats like turkey bacon or ham if you need that extra protein. I'm not very experienced with açaí bowls, but this seemed pretty good. Plenty of fruit. For my first visit, they recommended the "sweet heat" wrap for average carnivores. It was pretty good. Lots of their wraps hold a surprising amount of juice inside, which is always nice. Also......I like their playlist. read more

this place slaps! one of my favorite places in the entire united states of america! i could close my eyes and throw a dart at the menu and never be upset. their breakfast wraps.... fire their açaí bowls!? stop it.... fire their lunch bowls.... cut it out... absolute heat! i cannot recommend this place enough. *side note* the only downside.... is that this place is pretty darn expensive..... like i'll be paying $20 for a wrap and a smoothie. but i'll also be adding extra stuff so that bumps up the price to be fair. read more

Breakfast favorites are organic egg wraps, toast on our homemade bread, homemade açaí bowls and locally roasted espresso. Lunch and dinner feature a wide range of bowls and wrap options packed with freshly roasted veggies and house baked proteins! We also have unique smoothies, shakes and baked goods.

History

Established in 2009.

Originally founded as Happy Cup a frozen yogurt shop with a twist. The owners put a commercial frozen yogurt machine in their kitchen so they could learn how to make the frozen yogurt from scratch with organic and all natural ingredients and none of the artificial chemicals they found in all of the pre-made products that were available at the time. Now Happy Cup is Homespun Kitchen and has evolved into a place for healthy food fast and the philosophy that was used to create the frozen yogurt has been carried on to the food. Organic chicken breast is marinated 24 hours on site and house roasted to be used in chopped salads, wraps and protein bowls. Now Homespun Kitchen serves healthy food fast from breakfast through late night.

Meet the Business Owner: Aaron L.

Aaron, is an avid cyclist who has wanted to open healthy fast food restaurants since he was 15. After receiving his Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Florida, Aaron went on to work as an engineer and IT professional for ten years, putting his dreams of healthy fast food on hold. When the economy took a dip and his IT salary was significantly adjusted, it was the catalyst to finally start pursuing his dream of opening healthy fast food restaurants. Not thinking he had enough experience to open his full concept, he and his wife Angela started by putting their own twist on frozen yogurt, a healthier dessert option. Now, Happy Cup has fully transformed into Homespun Kitchen, a place where people can get truly healthy food, for any meal, fast.

She relayed my sentiments to the cook, who may have been the manager or owner. Nevertheless, I ordered the Classic Smash Burger and did ask for the fried egg add-on. The food was prepared really quickly and the burger looked perfect. However, the young lady informed me that unfortunately they only had 4 eggs left and that they all fell and broke on the floor before my burger was ready. So she handed me a $1 bill as a refund. Obviously disappointed (and skeptical of the story) I accepted the refund and went on my way. The short of it is that while I was eggstremly disappointed by the lack of eggs, the burger was quite good and the fries were wonderful. I went ahead and attached a LOT of photos to this review of cocktails from the past several themes they've done as well. It's worth noting that they always offer Mocktails and THC infused drinks for the non alcohol drinkers. We didn't try as many things as we usually do but we REALLY liked what we did get a chance to try. Off the top of my head, I'd say the Cabana Boy was my personal favorite. That's the whiskey sour that comes as a pairing in the Twin Palms special. My wife liked everything enough that she didn't have a favorite. If you haven't been to Grey Matter Distillery; go check out this theme because it's a good one. Then make sure to keep on eye on them because I'm guessing their Retro Theme will be coming back next and I'm always excited for that one too. Also, those who work the counters and check-out are very friends and supportive when you have questions. For many, it's a pretty long drove here, but they come anyway! I will say that the cost of fresh fish can be pricey, and it is here. But you're pretty much going to get some of the best in seafood offerings in Jacksonville. It's worth the trip to get here! I usually get my food here on a takeout basis because I'm usually in a hurry. However, when I stay there I eat on the corner outside and the ambience is terrific. It's a great location at the town center in Neptune and Atlantic Beaches . The food is excellent. Lots of fresh organic vegetables. Very well spiced with terrific sauces. Pretty consistently pick up breakfast here on Sunday mornings. Two Harrison Acai bowls, a Sweet Heat wrap for me and a slice of Lily Toast for my wife.
