Place is good for sure. Definitely was a good date night choice for my wife and I. Menu is packed with options and it will become a bit overwhelming if you are hungry and you aren't sure what exactly you want. Everything sounds good in each section of the menu. We ended up getting 3 things to share: cheese dip (not my number 1 in town but still good), the tamales chilangos, and the Baja tacos. Tamales were top tear, with the best black beans I've ever had (no lie, not sure what they do to those beans but if they sold them alone in stores they would make a killing). Baja tacos were good, woulda preferred cod to the mahi (nothing wrong with it just preference flaky fish to solid). The chipotle sauce that comes with it is super good. Service here is good also, really nice people. Always coming around and asking if you need things. Definitely come here if you want a night out, drinks are small but strong. And the salsa is the bomb. read more

We stopped by for lunch and we found the food delicious. We started with complimentary salsa & chips and the salsa had a great flavor and the chips were crisp and light without greasiness. For entrees we had the Arroz De La Casa and it had nice plump shrimp and and other meats and a good mix of vegetables that were nicely balanced (versus some places that go super heavy on bell peppers) and generous queso. My wife had the Catrina Bowl and loved it. The menu has a big selection and the waitress was gracious and kept coming back until we were able to decide. We sat on the outdoor patio which is spacious and comfortable. The orange awning does give a color cast to the food, which can throw your brain off. This was a quick dinner stop on a solo trip. Everything was fine, but was as typical as it gets for the random americanized mexican restaurant in north metro ATL. The Good: The staff was nice and the place was clean as were the bathrooms. Everything tasted as expected. The Challenges: Nothing will blow you away here. Although the food was fine, there was nothing memorable about it. The margarita was under-made so they just filled it with ice. No way that was 20oz. If this is convenient for you I get it, but don't go out of your way it. There are options poping up in downtown Canton that get the clear nod. read more

It is a solid Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa were good. I liked that the chips were warm. Out server also provided a spicy salsa on request, that packed a nice solid punch of heat I was also hoping for a green salsa which they didn't have. The cheese dip was okay. I ordered mine with jalapeños but it didn't come with any. It was still pretty good and I just scooped some of the spicy salsa into it. My main dish of fish tacos was really good. Nice sized portions of fish and avocado slices. The pickled relish of onions had added a nice tangy flavor to the dish. It comes with a side. I would definitely order those again. I went with the black beans which were served lukewarm. Overall I would recommend it and I would come back. read more

Such a hidden gem tucked discreetly behind RaceTrac on Georgia 20. The menu is extensive with an amazing drink selection that an unnamed competitor across the street is trying and failing to duplicate. We were greeted by Marco immediately and served our chips and salsa upon sitting. The drinks are elevated in beautiful glassware along with thoughtful garnishes. The food menu takes a truly American twist exceeding tex-mex boasting waffle nachos (Mexican twist on cheese fries), Birria rolls, chihuahua soup, and a guacamole tropical to name a few just from the starter menu. Can't wait to update this review with all the goodness that is this little known cantina in our little town of canton. read more

Massive red flags for me are Mexican restaurants that don't put margarita pricing on their menu. There is not a vastly fluctuating market for the ingredients therefore it can only be viewed as opportunistic. That said, if you do not put the pricing on the menu, you darn well better deliver if someone orders it, after hearing the pricing. While La Catrina has pricing by the glass, they do not for pitchers. My wife and I were at La Catrina recently and we'd asked about pitchers of margaritas...do you have them, what is the pricing, do you make pitchers of Skinny margaritas or just the others, etc.. We were told they do make pitchers, and yes they can make a pitcher of skinny for $36.99. This is high, even for skinny, unless they're delicious, however, we rolled the dice and ordered that pitcher anyhow. We asked for not too much ice since it gets too watery by the time you fill your glass a second time. We received a 2/3-3/4 full pitcher with less ice and two cups filled with ice. OK, here we go. We ordered our food and filled our glasses and upon first sip knew two things instantly - wayyyyyy too sweet to be actual skinny, and little to no tequila. These are facts. We are educated consumers. They decided not to treat us respectfully in serving this to us. To add additional insult to the treatment, when our food arrived the manager came by and asked us not how our food looked or tasted, but instead only how we liked the margaritas...seemingly testing our awareness of what we were actually served as opposed to what we'd ordered. This review and the one I will put on other sites is my response. We'll never return, nor will we ever recommend this place to others and instead will reference our experience. read more

This place was a pleasant surprise! I wasn't aware of it due to the location being a bit hidden. We stumbled in on a weeknight after a competitor across the street had a 20 minute wait. The decor and atmosphere was vibrant and clean. The menu is extensive with great options for food, drinks, and appetizers. The chips and salsa were great. Basically just an ok Mexican food restaurant in a city full of really good Mexican food, this one has a ways to go to reach the benchmark great. Food was okay, service was good and inside ambience was again okay. The vegetarian options were extremely bland. The tofu was completely unseasoned. I know most don't go to a Mexican joint for vegetarian or vegan options but it's important to my wife. It just wasn't good enough to go back. This place is honestly not a good experience overall. We came in at 1pm on a Thursday afternoon and we were the only customers in the building. This probably should have been a red flag. There were 5 servers hanging out at the bar and There's no way any of there were over the age of 15. We ordered margaritas and they took about 15 minutes and ended up being the most awful thing. They tasted like straight syrup mix from a container, not able to be finished at all. The cheese dip was really think and hardened after just a few minutes to the point that it was breaking chips. We watched the server put it in a microwave before bringing it over and then realized why. The food was the saving grace, it was well presented and tasted great, thankfully. We definitely understand why there was no one here and will not be back. read more

I've been here twice in a month already and happy to say I will keep coming back. They have great food (I'm a fan of fish tacos, and their Nemo Tacos are so yummy!) The Margaritas selection is largest I've seen. For non-alcoholic drinks I'm a big fan of Hibiscus Aqua Fresca. Nice dimmed light atmosphere. The service is great, and the checkout process is very easy where you just scan the barcode on the receipt and don't have to sit there and wait for your card to be brought back 10-15 minutes later. The good: The service and staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. The bad: The food was mediocre at best. My wife had chimichangas that weren't crispy at all which made them basically burritos. I had nachos. The ground beef was very bland and unseasoned and the cheese was watery. I could only eat the top portion. The Pepsi was outstanding. With so many good Mexican restaurants around, we probably won't be back which is unfortunate because it's close and everyone there was very nice. read more

Hands down the best and most authentic Mexican fare in Canton. It used to be our best kept secret but word is starting to get out.

A Mexican restaurant in a sea of Mexican restaurants with a really cute uncommon interior. A lot of the food seems to be what you'd typically expect. But if you're looking for something less common, be sure to try the Escote (corn dip) and the birria rolls!! We recently moved to Canton and had a hard time finding restaurants with outdoor patios. We found this hidden gem, and we love it ! The covered patio is great and the food is amazing ! ( I recommend the Catrina enchiladas.) My wife likes their healthier salad options. We love taking our dog out with us and they are dog friendly ! We're so glad we found this place ! Please get the wait staff to be more attentive of the tables. I should not need to wait 15 minutes to get a drink refill or spend 60-75 minutes at the restaurant just because you are short staffed. Food is great but the management and wait staff doesn't seem focused on efficiency and prompt service. read more

This is my new favorite restaurant. The food and drinks are awesome. My favorite drink is the mama Coco and unfortunately I don't have one favorite food because everything I've tried I've truly loved. The staff is very attentive.
