Wow! This is the TO in the Ingles shopping center off of Riverstone Pkwy. About as authentic as you will get if you like street tacos, and coming from someone who lived in SoCalif for 23 years, that's saying a lot! I asked some Hispanic friends of mine about where to get some good authentic street tacos and they pointed me in the right direction . I went there yesterday and was pleasantly surprised that I was the only non-Hispanic person in the place. I ordered and had 6 Carne Asada and six Al Pastor Tacos with cilantro, onion, and their green sauce and was very impressed. I will be trying more items off of their menu and I'm sure I will be as impressed as I was with their Tacos . They definitely have a new customer in me. read more

Food tastes good but the little bit you get. I asked for a torta de asada and on each half of it there was five little pieces of meat. All I got was bread and a little bit of lettuce and tomatoe. My wife asked for 3 steak tacos and they also had barely 7 little pieces of meat. For owner: if you can't afford to buy meat to serve enough, don't buy meat at all. All I ordered was a single chicken taco just to try and see how the place tastes as I've never had it before and they brought me something additional I didn't ask for with meat I don't even eat cause I can't eat it for health reasons and they still charged me for that item. Since living here I've be tortured by Tex mex, queso and other versions that are tasty but not real Mexican food!! I tell people allege tilethat authentic Mexican food doesn't use cheese in there tacos or burritos and then think I'm crazy lol. This is the real deal. Real fresh made horchata , fresh hot sauce and salsa verde, fresh street tacos with just onions and cilantro ... AMaZINg!!! If you want queso in top of your burrito they will oblige you. They will make you a fresh quesadilla with a lot of cheese.5they will-load up your taco. Food was ok but my tacos had maybe a tablespoon of meat on each one. See pic. And after waiting 40 minutes for them. The burrito was mainly rice and beans and I could not even taste the steak. Maybe it was an off day? I'll try them again to see. read more

HOW IS THIS PLACE GREAT? LET ME TELL YOU: 1) If you are ever curious as to whether a Mexican restaurant is authentic, just take a look at who's eating there. The customer base here is 99% Mexican which tells you this place knows what they're doing! The menu items are very generous and flavorful. 2) There is an open kitchen - which I love because it shows the professionalism of the restaurant and that they have nothing to hide. 3) The salsas (Verde & Rioja) are both spicy and delicious; they compliment all the menu items. 4) You're not going to spend a lot of money (need I say more?) 5) The restrooms are decent incase you can't wait until you get home. read more

I stopped in to get a few tacos to go. I was greeted when I walked in by an employee. I looked at the menu and ordered three tacos. Pork, beef cheek and steak. I believe the corn tortillas were homemade because they smoked the store bought ones. Usually Mexican places use two tortillas because one always falls apart. They used one and it held up perfectly. The meat in all three was tender and delicious. They all had there own flavors that were complimented with onion and cilantro. A lime wedge and a few radishes came with my order. I'm not a radish fan but the lime added a little acid that added so much more flavor. I can't decide which taco I liked better because they were all great. At $1.50 each, I will definitely go back for more. The restaurant has a definite mom and pop feel. A true Mexican whole in the wall. Can't wait to try more. read more

So this used to be the Taqueria Oaxaquena II, think the sign still says such on the front. Without going into too much detail, apparently the owners of one and two separated at some point, and now they compete. The menu is a little bit more diverse than #1. Sopes, tostadas, Tlayudas, burritos, quesadillas, gorditas, etc. etc. It is also a little more expensive. Ambiance: It is a mexican taqueria in a nondescript shopping plaza. You will see murals, listen to mariachi bands play on the juke box, and watch either "futbol" or bad mexican soap operas / gameshows on telemundo. So don't expect much other than good food. Their air conditioner works well so no need to sweat it out like you do at the other Oaxaquena. Service: Always pretty good at this place. Cooks are friendly and speak spanish to my daughters. They love children. Waitresses are always ready to take your order, but just be aware that most people that go in this place know what they want so don't be surprised if she is standing there waiting for you to make your order. It doesn't both me really, but I know some people can get their panties in a twist over it. Occasionally my order is "lost in translation". I don't really take it personally when something extra comes out or they miss something. It is so cheap that I could care less. Sometimes i send it back when the order is way off but that is rare. If having a "live and let live" attitude with a language barrier bothers you, then maybe this place isn't for you. Food: Tlayudas is pretty good, but very large. Need to split that usually. I like their tongue or cow cheek version personally. I usually go for the Crunchy Tripe tacos, they are really the best thing in my opinion. They give you a nice helping of meat on the tacos and garnish with cilantro and raw onion. Served on corn tacos, as this is a Mexican restaurant, not Tex-Mex. There is a little secret though. These guys make the best hot wings i have had in a long time. Hot wings will take 20+ minutes to cook, so you have to wait a while, but it is worth it. The wings are crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Made with a classic buffalo sauce, which they heap on. If you don't like your wings saucy you can get it on the side. You don't get celery or carrots, but if you get some tacos you have a side of radish you can use as your vegetable. Everything else is good too. Quesadilla's are large and meaty. Beers are also fairly cheap. Summary: Good cheap eats, and friendly people. Don't be scared to travel down to Canton's version of little mexico and enjoy some good food. read more

I love to try new restaurants and I've given this one three chances. I am a gringo and although there were other Americans eating, I got the feeling I was not welcome there. A few Latinos kept giving me the stink eye on one occasion. Another time, the waitress would take our orders only to come back 15 minutes later saying they are out of that and you will need to order something else. The 3rd occasion I asked to see the manager before sitting down. An older lady greeted me with a scowl. I politely asked if she welcomed gringos or would you prefer just Latinos? She asked if I spoke any Spanish and I said no. She said you should learn Spanish I had to learn English. Apparently if you speak Spanish you are welcome there. The grocery store next door is the complete opposite. The don't speak English well but are super friendly. read more

HOW DO YOU FRUSTRATE ME? LET ME COUNT THE WAYS! 1) You didn't bother cleaning your restaurant prior to my visit. Please give some attention to your tables, floors and the base, front and side of your counter. 2) You ran out of the RED sauce on the Friday before Christmas, before 7pm-Why? 3) The Al Pastor tacos were not available. Again, Why? 4) You had us waiting approximately 30 minutes for a relatively simple order. 5) Once received, the food was not worth the wait and I could not even eat it. The tacos were not fresh. The shell tasted like how I would imagine a wet egg carton would taste. It had absolutely no texture and no seasoning, not even a pinch of salt. The chicken was overcooked and a bit dry. The steak tasted as if it had been cooked yesterday and reheated. For the time that we waited, that cow could have been killed on the spot and delivered super fresh. 6) The odd taste of both proteins did not cause me to wonder about the unique seasonings used but rather the cleanliness of your restaurant. 7) When we finally arrived home with the additional food items ordered by my husband, I noticed that the beans were extremely thick and heavy and actually scared me. Food should not be scary! The rice was a bit too over-cooked for my taste. My husband actually liked the food but we have very different tastes when it comes to Mexican food. Since this is my review, my opinion is the only one that will be considered in this review, (as usual). This restaurant is very authentic so do not expect to see any vegetables on the menu. Best Mexican food in Georgia! Salsa is good too.. and nice place to dine in and eat with the family

I cannot write this review about the food, because I did not stay long enough to eat. However, I chose this spot because I had purchased a restaurant.com voucher to use an hour before arriving to the restaurant. We arrived, sat ourselves, and then the waitress came and asked for our drink orders. We both ordered water, and before the waitress left I pulled out my phone to show her the voucher to avoid any hiccups come time to pay the bill- and I'm glad I did. She mumbled "we don't take those" as she walked away to talk to her supervisor. I got up and explained to the supervisor that I had purchased the voucher an hour before arriving at the restaurant and she was incredibly rude to me (interrupting, rolling her eyes, etc) and would not fully listen to my side of the purchase. She kept telling me that they are not affiliated with restaurant.com and would not accept the voucher. When I tried to explain that they were still listed on the website (as of an hour before arriving) and appeared to still be associated, she rolled her eyes and just said "no". We were still planning on eating there, and not using the voucher, but to be disrespected like that over a credible voucher purchased shortly before arriving, turned us off an we decided to take our business elsewhere. Like I said, I cannot speak about the food, but the customer service was rude, and a horrible experience. read more

This is one of my favorite lunchtime spots in the area. Authentic Mexican food at very good prices. I've tried the flautas, rice and beans, chicken and carne asada tacos and the chicken torta. All are good. The red and green sauces are excellent. The absolute best thing I've tried in my opinion is the cheese cup dessert. Only downside I would say is their card machine doesn't always work so I try to have cash when I go here. read more

If you like real traditional Mexican food this is the place to go. We had the enchiladas verde, the fajitas and quesadillas. Everything was outstanding. The service was good.
