The Viva Pets team were an absolute life saver for us when we moved to LA and needed someone for dog walks. Our dog Rocko was a special boy that needed extra love and care. In our first meet with Aubrie, we were so relieved to see how well her and Rocko got on. It took so much pressure off of us when we were working late hours or didn't know our work schedule. The peace of mind was priceless! Communication was always easy and the whole team was so friendly. When we got the opportunity to adopt Moxie into our family it was a no brainer knowing Aubrie and the team would be there! The daily update emails and photos were the highlight of my day. Now that we've moved out of LA, I still follow Viva Pets to see all the cute animals they are hanging out with regularly. If you're looking for someone to take care of your fur babies, look no further!

Proof of life! One of the daily recap photos we received.

We were referred to VivaPets when we needed cat sitters during a three-week vacation; we'd never hired anyone to watch our cats before, and our trip was too long to ask friends to come over daily. Aubrie came over to do an initial site visit and consult to get to know us and our cats, and we went over every aspect of their care. What sealed it for us was that Aubrie and her team "get" pet parents - they know that for many of us, our pets are our kids, and aren't fazed by any of our requests (you know, the stuff we do daily for our cats that we're embarrassed to ask our friends doing us a favor and stopping by after work to care for them). Two different water fountains (one that bubbles and one that drips)? No problem. One cat eats treats too quickly so needs it spread thin, while the other eats slower and needs a blob so they finish before the faster cat can come over and steal it? Done. Our cats have a dedicated Google Doc with all of the details for their care, making it easy to update, follow, and stay on the same page. After every visit, we receive a full recap by email along with pictures - not always a guarantee with friends, and a welcome site in our inbox while traveling! On top of all that, Aubrie and the entire VP team have such warm, loving energy - energy that our cats have responded and reciprocated! The cats are so much less stressed when we return than before, and our most shy kitty has surprised us all by coming out to play and demand pets on visits. We use them for all our pet-sitting needs now, and can't recommend this team enough to care for your pets!

I travel for a living (or used to before the pandemic) & I also have elderly cats with lots of various chronic medical issues managed by daily medication. I was very nervous to rely completely on a pet sitting service when I started living without roommates. Thankfully I found Aubrie & Viva Pets. Their prices are reasonable & the care they provide for my kitties is immeasurable. I certainly would not feel comfortable leaving my kitties with anyone else. They send along a detailed email after each visit & document everything - down to litter box habits & watering plants. Added bonus: they take just the cutest photos of my kitties. Some of my favorite photos of my kitties have come from Viva Pets.

I have used Viva Pets for several years, and just realized I haven't left a review. Ive trusted Aubrie and her team with my cranky, old chihuahua Herman for a long time and with good reason. They not only genuinely care about animals, they understand their energy and personality. They take extra care, and I'm very grateful to them. I could recommend them more, as I would rather Herman be in their care then even my partner, and he agreed. Ha Thanks Viva Pets

I cannot say enough good things about Viva Pets! Aubrie did the "meet and greet" with my two cats, Lionel & Chloe, and was so thorough, and kind. It's also clear she loves what she does! Filling out a comprehensive form about my cat's histories, temperaments, medical needs, as well as house related information made me feel comfortable that Aubrie & the team would be able to take care of anything that could possibly arise while I was out of town. I don't think there's anything she hasn't thought of asking, and it's evident she wants everyone on her team to be as prepared as possible! They even pay attention to the sweet little things, such as asking if you leave a light on for your pet. The intake form becomes a shared Google Doc that can easily be edited. This made it easy to make some last minute changes, and add a few important notes before I left. For the four nights I was out of town, Zoë stayed with my cats overnight, and was simply wonderful. Each morning and night I received a detailed update as well as cute pictures & videos. Both of my cats have health issues and need numerous oral medications, and Zoë lovingly administered all of their meds, as well as gave one of my cats IV fluids. It's rare to have a pet-sitter that is not only sweet with your animals, but can also care for them on this level. It can be stressful to travel when you have animals that need this kind of care, but knowing they were in such good hands made it easy to relax. On the last day, I received pics of all of the clean litter boxes and freshly filled food & water bowls, and of course, pics of my babies. During this time, Aubrie was caring for my partner's cats, and we received the same thoughtful updates from her, along with daily pictures. We even got videos of our fish! Both Aubrie & Zoë, and I'm sure the rest of the Viva Pets team, were reliable, consistent, and communicative. I'll definitely be turning to Viva Pets for all upcoming pet-sitting needs and am so grateful a pet-sitting company like this exists!

I never have to worry about Dove when going out of town! Aubrie, Zoe, Emily and team give him the same level of care and love at every visit, that I give him myself. Detailed recaps and pictures are given after every visit. Booking is easy and thorough.

I got great pictures of my [normally very shy] kitties the whole time I was away.

Viva Pets are the best. They've been walking our dogs for well over 8 years in the Los Angeles area. We love Aubrie and the VP team!

Then, once he recovered from that, had a fever that almost killed him and had to be hospitalized again. We had to keep him quarantined for a while and away from my other dog (a 7 year old Pomeranian at the time) and get all his vaccinations from the beginning. He was scared of literally every single noise and had anxiety about just about everything. Over time, he developed extreme food aggression and we were worried for the safety of my little Pom. He had been attacked a few times to the point of actual injury and it was extremely stressful for everyone. I was at my wits end and I felt like I had tried everything to help Gunnar (my Shiba) and protect Simba (my Pom). I did a lot of research and stumbled upon Jenina and sent her a message for private sessions where she would come to my apartment once a week. I believe I only used her for a little over a month but I am eternally grateful. The level of aggression Gunnar displayed was so dangerous that my roommate and I actually have been bitten with blood trying to protect Simba from harm where food is involved. The issue was that he wasn't aggressive with all foods and we were unaware the extent until it was too late (ex. we thought it was only wet food so we were giving a chew stick to them separately where I would have Simba sitting next to me on the couch and Gunnar would be on the floor away from Simba with my roommate and the switch was so sudden----from sweet to seemingly no warning lunging at Simba----I stuck my leg out to protect Simba and he bit my leg instead). I feel like at this point, a regular human being would give Gunnar up, but that wasn't an option. It wasn't an option when he came to me dying from Parvo, it wasn't an option when he had an almost fatal fever, and it wasn't going to be an option for me now. I was determined to find a way to help him because he is my baby and my responsibility. The vet suggested I contact a behavioral specialist and when I did, VCA told me the earliest appointment they had was months later. Fed up with waiting, I found Jenina. In a month's time, she had given me the tools to fix a seemingly impossible situation. Make no mistake---she made me work for it. She might come across brash to some people but she is very direct and straight to the point. She doesn't coddle you and makes sure she lets you know what you need to do because while the session is for dogs, it is actually more like training the parent. She gives you "homework" and training info and is only willing to help you if YOU do the work. Now, it wasn't a complete fix. He still has anxiety outdoors or unknown noises as well as food aggression but it is nowhere near what he used to be. Before Jenina, Gunnar couldn't even take a step outside the apartment building let alone go for a walk. Three years later, Simba has sadly since passed but he has a little brother that he is extremely patient with as he acts like a typical annoying little brother), his food aggression has gone down from 100 to 30, and we go out to all sorts of places. He is THRIVING and this is all thanks to Jenina. My roommate and I are on high alert and know what to look for in terms of triggers and are very quick to de-escalate aggression situations. We try our best not to avoid known triggers and we work with him every day to allow him to be his best self. He is the sweetest boy and we are so glad he's been able to show it instead of being overshadowed by aggression and anxiety. She also gave Gunnar his nickname---Gunny! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I am so sorry it took this long to leave this review but thank you so much for saving us. If we had listened to the VCA behavioral specialist that basically called Gunnar a monster and suggested we give him up, he probably would have been euthanized somewhere. We owe you so much.

During a scheduled walk, the walker lost my house keys, which had my full address labeled on them. I was in therapy and unable to respond for about 30 minutes. When I did, I had to explain that the keys were labeled with my address; only then did the company bring up calling a locksmith. As a result, my 10-year-old dog was left outside with the walker for an hour, and would have been outside for much longer if a friend hadn't picked him up. It took 3 hours to resolve this issue. The company did pay for the locksmith, but communication was limited unless I initiated it in regard to status of the locksmith, and the owner said she would look for the keys but did not. I was also charged a cancellation fee on a separate day, despite explaining I cancelled because my grandmother had passed away and I had stayed home from work. They also charge $10 extra for "a late booking". Based on this experience and the safety concerns involved, I would not use this service again. The owner communicated with me respectfully but again my safety (single woman living alone) and my dog's safety were jeopardized - while the issue was resolved I'm shocked it happened in the first place. I'm sure this company delivers great services outside of this mistake but I can't keep this to myself as it was extremely upsetting and has NEVER happened in my 10 years of being a dog owner using multiple services.

The first couple times we used Sitter4Paws we had a really great experience with the sitters that were assigned to our senior, diabetic cat. Last year, my mother unexpectedly passed away, and our regular cat sitter was unavailable for half of the trip home. We booked Sitter4Paws the second half of the trip, and let them know about the circumstances and requested sitters that had seen Jodie before so that we could rest easy during a very difficult time. Of course we know that can't always be accommodated due to scheduling, so for the first visit a new sitter came to see Jodie. On the evening of my mother's passing, we got a text from Sitter4Paws that the sitter felt he may have made a mistake with our cat's insulin dosage. It was revealed to us that instead of giving her her normal 2.25 unit dose, he gave her 22.5 units - ignoring the taped off/labeled syringes, our explicit written instructions in the app, and additional photos/diagrams of what a full syringe should look like. Thank god he realized his mistake, otherwise our cat would have slowly died alone in our apartment - and this would have happened immediately after losing my mom. I understand mistakes can happen, but the fact that a sitter was uncertain with potentially life-threatening medication if administered improperly and didn't even think to reach out to us first was quite shocking. Sitter4Paws took full responsibility, admitted their mistake, said they would take steps to make sure something like this would never happen again, and covered her 4 day ER stay, but it never should have gotten to that point. Again - we did have great sitters who took care of our cat wonderfully - but the uncertainty of who you can get especially with medication involved means that we can no longer recommend this service with confidence.
