Highland Park's Best Carnitas -- A True Neighborhood Gem! This taco truck will always have a special place in my heart. I grew up in Highland Park, and my parents used to bring me here as a kid. It's one of those spots that instantly brings back memories the moment you pull up -- same truck, same incredible flavors. Their carnitas are hands down the best I've ever had -- flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right every single time. I've tried plenty of places over the years, but nothing compares. Ive always loved their burritos and tortas, but lately I've been hooked on their nachos, which are a newer menu addition and absolutely delicious. I'll even have my boyfriend drive me all the way from where I live just to get them! What makes this place truly special is its consistency. The food quality, the service, and even the prices have stayed solid throughout the years. In a neighborhood that's changed so much, it's comforting to know this hidden gem is still holding it down and keeping that authentic Highland Park flavor alive. 4++ great taco truck in the Highland Park/Eagle Rock area (I think). I can't remember why I bookmarked this place, but I had it on my radar and it was really close when we were leaving a bar in that area. It's great because this truck stays open a later so you are able to get your taco truck fix late night leaving a bar, etc. The guys running this truck were cool and it seems like a popular place because a lot of other people had the same idea we did on a Thursday night. I got my go to which is two tacos and mulita. Everything was so delicious, especially since it really hit the spot after drinking. This has now become my families go to taco truck for taco Tuesdays. I wouldn't call myself a taco connoisseur, but if the shoe fits... I've tried a significant portion of the taco meats they offer and here are my favorites: - Carnitas: really flavorful, cooked on the griddle to give it an extra crisp. - Cabeza: also really flavorful and tender, what you would expect for Cabeza, but with more flavor. I need a lot of sauce (green and red) with my tacos and this place does a OK job at not gatekeeping the sauce , depending on who you get taking your order. Lastly, honorable mention goes to the Horchata. It's the right ratio, not too sweet and syrupy - amazingly refreshing every time. If you're thinking about trying this taco truck out, do it. Birria tacos so good! The consume was flavorful, warm and so good for dipping! Beware of their salsas! They are hot hot hot! This meal made me sweat in the heat of LA summer but it was so worth it! I would definitely stop by this spot again! It's in the Silverlake neighborhood on a side street - kind of hard to find unless you are setting out to visit this spot or are a local area resident. I ordered a pastor quesadilla and it had almost no cheese. The cheese was still whole and not melted. The pastor did not even look or taste like pastor. It tasted like boiled meat. AMAZING tacos... some of the best I have had in a really long time. The tortillas were fresh, dare I say homemade because they sure tasted like it, and the meat was so good. I got asada, pollo, al pastor and lengua and each were delicious. Usually when you get a variety of taco meats you lean towards a favorite or compare the chicken at one taco stand to another as being better. In this case, every single one was my favorite because they really were all that good. The salsas were delicious and "con todo" on the tacos was done perfectly. The price is right too. Found this place via Yelp after a fun night out in Hollywood. After a few drinks, tacos always sound good. Since we were near downtown, was hoping to find a truck with tacos al carbon or al pastor on a spit. This truck didn't exactly have those authentically prepared, but were already here and so we tried a few. Have to admit, the food is pretty good. Tried the asada, al pastor, carnitas and buche. All were good and worth the $1.75 per taco. They were a good size and had plenty of meat. Their green and red salsas were also tasty and added a great kick to the food. I like that the salsas and other condiments like limes and radish are self serve. Makes it easy to get what you need and the quantity you need. Service was fast and pleasant as well. Why only 4 stars then? I've had better tacos in LA. Asada tacos cooked over an open flame and al pastor fresh off a spit can't be beat when you can find them. Happy eating! read more

Their al pastol quesadilla is bomb!! I usually add sour cream with or without it it is just so good and juicy. I also like thier carne asada quesadilla, too. Also, their tripa tacos are soooo good. Soft, moist and fatty I like to mix thier guacamole salsa and the red salsa because the red one has slightly sweet and pleasantly spicy taste in it. Mixing them together makes kind of a creamy, spicy and a little sweety salsa. It goes really good with the food. Their green salsa is really delicious, too. Their orange colered salsa which is habanero one is really spicy. So, be careful.. I love thier picked jalapenos with onion and carrots so much!! I wish they open up one at Pasadena..
