My wife found this place through her social media page. We don't live too far and decided to come check it out. It's located inside a cute little neighborhood market. For 5 burritos, we paid $30. The burritos are definitely on the smaller side but very good. Packed with flavor. There's not a lot of space to sit and enjoy these burritos, we got lucky and scored some seats at an inside table. I definitely enjoyed them and will be returning sometime in the future.

Burritos La Palma has some super tasty burritos! With that said, they are unique because they're on the smaller side and somewhat thin. The tortilla is grilled, so it has that homemade, off the stove burner feeling. Tbh, the bean & cheese and the birria really stood out for some reason. Not to say that the others weren't good, because they were! I'd recommend picking up 2 to 4 burritos depending on your appetite. Tbh, having a variety is a vibe. Definitely will order again.

Burritos La Palma has become my current favorite lunch and dinner spot in one of my favorite neighborhoods. It's on a cozy corner of Highland Park with a delightful market and coffee bar inside. It's packed with goodies, fresh produce and healthy products. The burritos are skinny but packed with flavor and rich, delicious fillings. You will want two of everything! The seasoned chips are crispy, crunchy, yummy and addicting especially with my favorite salsa. The chili flavor is sophisticated and subtly spicy . Service is friendly and fast!

Was excited to try these and I'm excited to back ;) Trio: bean and cheese , birria and deshebrada. All of them BOMB! Meat was juicy and super tasty. The burritos are perfect size in my opinion and with three I was definitely full. Went o a Saturday and it wasn't super busy at all. Salsa was also fresh and delicious! The store itself is super cute as well and staff was friendly and welcoming :)

Tucked in the back of a neighborhood grocery store in Highland Park, Burritos La Palma is the kind of spot you might miss if you weren't looking for it. We actually found it through an Instagram reel my husband came across, and on a cold, rainy night... about 15 minutes before closing. We decided to give it a try as the restaurant was only 5 minutes away. Despite the late hour and dreary weather, the team welcomed us warmly, which immediately set the tone for the visit. Since it was our first time, we went all in and ordered three burritos each: birria de res, deshebrada, chicharron, chicken tinga, and frijoles y queso. Every single one was solid, wrapped in their signature soft, handmade flour tortillas but, if I had to pick favorites it would be the chicharrón and the frijoles y queso. The chicharron completely surprised me. I expected it to be my least favorite, but it ended up being the standout. It was deeply flavorful, with a texture that complemented the richness perfectly. The frijoles y queso was another highlight. So simple, yet so comforting. It instantly transported me back to childhood, when a warm bean and cheese burrito was all I ever wanted. Sometimes the simplest things really are the most satisfying. We loved the sauces that came with the burritos and couldn't resist adding chips and salsa to our order. We took everything to-go and enjoyed it at home, cozy and dry while the rain poured outside. Honestly, the perfect setting for food like this. The staff was genuinely kind and welcoming, even as they were winding down for the night, which made the experience even better. My husband and I are already looking forward to coming back to try more of their specials. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's in a residential area with mostly street parking, but we lucked out and grabbed a 15-minute spot next to the grocery store. A bit expensive for what they are but also, there is a reason why they have received the Bib Gourmand.

Went to lunch with my sister to celebrate Mother's Day.She had told me about this restaurant. That they had great burritos.Boy was she right!IWe both got the bean and cheese burritos. So good! They serve the burrito with a handmade flour tortilla.Chef's kiss! The employee there was so kind too.I will definitely be back!

Good lord! Where have these burritos been all my life! It's the PERFECT little burrito. Remember when Del Taco used to have two sizes of burritos. They had that small 59¢ burrito back in the 90s. La Palma burritos are THAT size which was always the perfect size. I had the birria, the chicharron and the frijoles y queso. All 3 knocked it out of the park. My only critic is that they don't serve drinks so you buy them from the grocery store it's in and their refrigeration keeps the drinks barely cold. I loved the ambiance of it being in the back of another store like Jeff's Table and also off main strip for a block or two. The counter servers were all very nice at handling the line of people. The menu is. A perfect example of keep it simple but make it the best.

This Burritos La Palma is located at the back inside the La Tropicana market. Service was fine and quick, didn't take too long to get our burritos to go for a quick lunch on the way back to work. We ordered a deshebrada (beef chili potato), birria, chicken tinga, frijoles y queso. The burritos are pretty small but I'm sure you're meant to eat more than one, especially when they're only like $6 each. Chewy, delicious tortilla and flavorful filling. Wish we got more cause was still kinda hungry (started really hungry). I love these a lot and wouldn't hesitate to get em again.

My friend and I have had this spot on our list for a while so we finally had time to try this spot. La Palma burritos are not your stereotypical burrito, they do Zacatecas style. I got the chicharron (solid, was hoping it would be a bit more crunchy), chicken tinga (flavorful, star of the show for me that day) and deshebrada (dripping with sauce inside, flavorful). Overall, it's a unique experience, prices are reasonable, and food is solid. I wouldn't go here to expect to walkout full, portion is small but flavorful. If you are in the area give it a try!

Hidden gem Burritos La Palma inside La Tropicana Market in Highland Park. Burritos are small and perfect for trying 2-3. Friendly, quick service and a casual, laid-back market vibe. Fresh-squeezed drinks are a must. Definitely coming back!

This location is located in the back of a market called La Tropicana, so you can shop around while you wait for your food. The service was very quick and helpful, and the burritos were great. We each got two burritos since they're about 1/2 or 1/3 the size of a regular burrito. We got the deshebrada, chicharron, and frijoles y queso (x2). My favorite was the deshebrada and my husband's was the chicharron. The tortillas were super good and the fillings even better. Price was also great for $10 for 2 burritos. Will definitely be back!

2 burritos. Pretty small. More like a snack.
    Jeff C.

It's ok. Located in the back of La Tropicana market. There's a few tables outside the market but it's probably better as a to go option. Small, simple menu. I got the chicharron and frijoles y queso. They were ok. 2 burritos is definitely more of a snack. The salsa was very mild but they do give a chile. Service was good. Friendly staff. Street parking up and down the block.

The menu is quite simple, but beware that no prices are listed on the main menu, but they are on the paper menus. They accept Apple Pay/credit cards. I ordered the asada burrito and the pollo caramelo and added the grilled poblano (as recommended on Yelp!). The tortillas were the true stars -- soft, nice chew, with a buttery mouth feel (probably lard). The fillings were just ok. The inside reminded me of a Taco Bell 7 layer burrito -- a lot going on but all the flavors kinda blend together. I (incorrectly) thought the beans were refried, but they are not. Whatever is going on inside, I didn't find much structure. The burrito was the best. The caramelo was a lazily folded burrito. I read that it was like a quesadilla, but I couldn't disagree more. I would skip this next time. I spent $25 and it was a lot of food, but I wasn't impressed, especially given the hype and the fact that LA should really be the pinnacle of Mexican food. Not sure if I'll make a second trip here.

Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

I browsed the menu and had a really hard time deciding, but ended up on the cauliflower rajas taco, the crispy shrimp taco & the vegan Korean BBQ taco. The waiter recommended the crispy shrimp taco, but I actually enjoyed the vegetarian tacos more. I love cauliflower and poblano so that taco was a great starter. So much flavor and a variety of textures. The tortillas were super flavorful too. The potato taquitos came next and I am actually obsessed. The outside was perfectly crispy, the interior was soft, flavorful & cheesy. The sauce complimented it perfectly. I can not recommend them enough. The crispy shrimp taco was really good, but I also tried a crispy fish taco and would honestly get that over the shrimp. I think there was mango or something in the coleslaw of the fish taco because it had a really nice fresh flavor to it. Last, I had the vegan Korean BBQ taco. The mushroom shreds & the flavor were just perfect. Again, as a pescatarian I have really never had Korean BBQ because it's so heavily meat focused. I truly loved this taco. AMAZING. So efficient, very clean, love being able to see them prep food at the bar area…read more Pulpo a la brasas - low key a must, octopus is so tender. Didn't care much for the rice/beans but not bad. Comes with blue corn tortillas, but honestly the octopus and almond sauce (think b*tchin' sauce) were delicious. Great cherry tomato pico de gallo. Scallop aguachile - wowwww the scallops were so fresh, literally bursting is my mouth. They were sweet, tender, and perfectly paired with the tangy lime sauce. Taco de pulpo - ok so this is pretty much an assembled pulpo à la brasas, BUT I will say the full meal was more tender because it was an entire grilled piece of grilled vs one tentacle. Also love the open freezers so you can see the fresh seafood hanging. Another standout was the homemade hot sauces! Each had a distinct flavor from sweet, smokey, and hot so it was really fun to try. The ceviches and the raw cold dishes were my favorite, especially the scallop aguachile! SO GOOD. Would order that 100 times.
