My friends and I found this place on Yelp and decided to come by after attending a festival. There was actually a good amount of people by the time we left and the price for the amount of food is great! $2.5 per taco, $9 for a quesadilla, $9 for a burrito Al Pastor Taco - 10/10, my boyfriend loved this one Carne Asada Taco - 10/10, this was my personal favorite, the carne asada was delicious and so tender! Al Pastor Quesadilla - 10/10, the amount for $9 was actually really good and there was a good amount of meat Carne Asada Burrito - 11/10, it had a good amount of meat in it and two of our friends loved their burritos It looks like they've been serving the community for around 40 years now and I can see why! Amazing prices and amazing food, will stop by again next time!

Writing this after eating my second Leo's burrito in as many days. That should tell you something. If it doesn't, I'll also tell you that every time I take a bite of their carne asada burrito I enter a fugue state that doesn't end until I've finished every last bite of food they've given me (including the radishes). Their asada is fire. All their meat is good, but their asada is seriously top tier. Everyone likes the all-meat burrito and I am no different BUT I'll still get their regular burrito because I love their beans + the mouthfeel of the whole thing. Everyone is so nice here, always chatting up regulars. They've got stools out front to sit there and they're open late for when you're starving after a night out. Come here!!! Do it!!!! I already can't wait to go back.

This is very much a spot I like to gate-keep for whenever I go to LA to visit my family, but man! It may just seem like a regular food truck on the side of the road of an apartment complex, but it's so much more than that. Let me tell you, the BEST BURRITO you can get. Been coming here for about 3 years now, each time is the same, extraordinary flavor filled food you can get from a truck. Sometimes I'll even buy multiple burritos to eat on the little bar chairs they set out, and another later when I get home. The staff is always welcoming and appreciating as well! I love this place with all my heart and if you ever get a chance to try it, make sure you do!

Ask the Community - Leo's Tacos

Does anyone know if they are still open for business.?

Yes they are still open was just there on Sunday at 9:30pm

Haven't seen them in a while, are they still open?

A few days ago, they said their truck broke so.. perhaps it's still that issue. Just a guess.

Are you still open during this quarantine?

i was there a week ago, and leo's son said their new hours are 5pm to midnight. i'm guessing they're still closed every monday still, though. go give them business!!!!

Do you guys go to Glendale or just Eagle Rock?

They just stick to one place

    Has this place been closed?

No, not closed. I was just here tonight on Sunday, 06/17/18. They're not closed, the truck is still in the same spot. I don't know why Yelp has it listed as closed. They're only closed on Mondays.

Does anyone know what their hours are at Eagle Rock and El Paso? I can't figure out a pattern.

Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

All dishes were shareable and there were certainly some remarkable ones. Starting with my most favorite the ceviche bites (I can't tell you exactly what it's called on the menu, but it was one bite that left you enticed for more!) if you like fish, certainly a must. My second favorite, the roasted rainbow carrots (the salsa macha was palatable all by itself!!). Third favorite, grilled chicken (again, not sure the name on the menu but, it was so juicy and perfect with the housemade tortillas). Other menu goodies, the steak (ribeye bites) tortillas with salsa/guacamole, carnitas (looked good), cactus appetizer, and cheese (and cactus?) quesadilla. Unfortunately, I think the menu was somewhat curated for the private party but I CERTAINLY think it's worth exploring. A lively atmosphere to add to it all!

Hollenbeck was good but I definitely enjoyed the Okie burrito more, I ordered the "original" size once and didn't seem to learn my lesson the second time, these burritos can feed two in Original size. They offer a "Mini" version which would be satisfactory for one person. My favorite thing about these burritos is how "home-made" they are, the salsas and meats are fresh and taste like they came out of an abuelitas kitchen. I still need to try the crunchy tacos and nachos which look great, I recommend trying this classic establishment at least once if you're in the area.
