My first time here. I got the Cabesa and Lengua Tacos. Tastes good. Normal amount of meat. Good parking and no seating. I took my food to go. Place is mostly clean. Stars. 4 Stars

Came here for a late night snack after the club. Their tacos are delicious and the service was pretty quick. I ordered the Al Pastor and Carne Asada which were both a bit smoky and flavorful. They also have a variety of toppings you can add to your tacos. What I found most interesting was that you can get a free potato, which was also delicious. Overall, this is a great late night spot and the food is tasty. There's a lot of parking and the place was bustling with people at 2am.

This smaller location of Ave 26 Tacos looks like any other taco stand in LA, but this small spot packs the high-quality of the Little Tokyo location. I love how quick and efficient it is here, so don't worry if the line looks long. My favorite meats here are the Al Pastor and Cabeza. Both are so juicy, flavorful, and never overcooked. I will say too that tacos are the way to go here--I am personally mostly a burrito guy at other taco stands, but tacos are definitely the move here both for the quality of the taco and the burrito just not packing as much punch here. Plus, the taco tortillas are so delicious, and the salsas have a lot of flavor here too. Be sure to get their roasted potato along with their grilled onions when you are here too. Parking is very easy here, and it is always well-trafficked. Definitely check out this location of Ave 26 Tacos if you're in the area!

I LOVE this spot so much! I will never not think about these tacos, especially after a night out. There is a good variety of proteins to chose from, and they do not cheap you out on your portions. The line will always be long, but it moves fast. You get a complimentary boiled potato and there is a big area where you can get toppings like onions, picked onions, cilantro, salsas, etc. The lechuga tacos are my favorite. There are no seating areas, but it is common for customers to stand around or eat on their car hoods. If you are thirsty, there is a drink stand right next to it.

Super quick service & very yummy tacos! Ave 26 tacos is a very "go go go" system. Make sure you know what you want before you get there. The service is quick and straight to the point! This the first taco truck spot I been to that also gives out a free potato per order. They have a whole separate table/area for the sauces and toppings (radish, onion, cilantro). And another separate table/area to order drinks! This spot is definitely a must when in SoCal :)

A very casual spot outside. Came to get food after an event and it really hit the spot! Parking really depends on if anything big is happening around LA. I've been when there is plenty of parking but when I went after my event there was a line of cars down the street. There are 3 separate lines. 1 are for the tacos, 1 is for burritos and quesadillas, the last one is for drinks. There is also an area with sauces and toppings. I got the carne asada quesadilla and it was so yummy. Super cheesy and full of carne asada!

I've been coming here for years and one of the spots that make LA unique are their street tacos. Avenue 26 tacos blew up in popularity and for good reason. They are super quick, super delicious, and very affordable. It's one of my favorite spots to take people for a street taco experience. They used to be located in a backstreet area but are now in a big parking lot by little Tokyo. Don't forget to get their boiled potatoes and grilled onions. I don't know how they make their potatoes but I swear they boil these things in fat for like a day... They're so soft and delicious. It's not your normal boiled potato. They have a variety of meat to choose from too. Al pastor and lengua are my favorites The only reason I gave it a 4 star is a personal issue I had with cleanliness. They have their garnishes off to the side for you to load up onto your plate. I like cilantro so I put a bunch on my tacos one time and found a small but alive, neon green worm on my cilantro. It was no bigger than 1 cm but it was still there LOL. I just flicked it away and continued on with my merry way..... don't judge me!

This is my go-to spot whenever I'm in the area. Service is fast, they throw in a free potato with your order (I paid extra for more because it's that good), and the food always hits, especially after a night out. Also can't overstate how clutch it is that they have an actual parking lot - basically unheard of in LA. Quick service, no stress, and great food every time. It does get super packed later in the night, but still moves quick!

This place is like the in n out of taco stands. It is more than just a taco stand. It is a taco operation. The most efficient, delicious, amazing tacos you can have late night. Don't be scared of the line. It moves quick. Just also remember to be a quick mover, because the men at the front will holler at you to move with lightning speed. The tacos are simple yet succulent. The potato here is the cherry on top. 10/10 would come again

Wonderful taco stand located right outside a Vons in the Eagle Rock area. Delicious tacos with a DIY salsa / toppings bar and some of the friendliest folks you will ever meet to help you. I came on a weeknight so the place wasn't very busy at all. It was a really chill vibe and I was able to order pretty much right away. There was some street parking in plenty of lot parking. I've been to their other location before and I really loved it. This one feels a little different in the fact that there's probably less traffic that comes through here. (Maybe it's different when it's not on a weekend) I came here specifically for the short rib tacos. Got a couple of the short rib tacos and a chicken taco. Just note that the short ribs are bone in and they come atop of a tortilla so when you're eating these tacos, you just have to be mindful of the bone. After the DIY toppings/salsa bar, I enjoyed my tacos and thought they were very flavorful. The overall meal was very reasonable as well and would definitely be on my rotation if I lived closer to this area.

Al Pastor Trompo for show. They don't vertically slice it seems; instead you'll get chopped up little pieces.

This taco stand is just ok. Located by Vons on Figueroa near Colorado Blvd. Ave 26 Tacos made a name for themselves years ago - once known for delicious and affordable tacos in town. Back then, the lines were insane at the "original location" in Lincoln Park's "Ave 26". Considered a destination late night street taco spot. The "original location" is long gone. However, there are still a couple locations left that I know of: this one in Eagle Rock and Little Tokyo on Alameda. They are open late and 7 days a week. Overall, I thought this stand was mediocre and left disappointed. I got: *Carne Asada -BLAND, no taste. *Al Pastor - chopped up pork and no pineapple. tasted exactly like the Asada, very mild or bland. There was a vertical spit (Trompo) but they don't freshly slice it from there. Maybe it was there for just display; idk. *Suadero- the best one; decent not great. *The salsas (red and green) were good and not spicy, so it's ideal for non-spicy eaters. Maybe Ave 26 was great before (pre-covid), but they lost their magic touch. Not a fan.

Right next to the Vons grocery store here. We got 5 tacos and one quesadilla for $25. They're fast and at the time of our visit, some used gloves and some didn't. It's a street taco stand so just understand that for your cleanliness comfort level. No issues for us on this visit. The tacos, albeit small were plentiful in meat. We tried to the asada, chorizo, al pastor, cabeza and tripa. All were good. The quesadilla, we added chorizo and al pastor which was also tasty. There are large buckets for all the condiments, avocado, green, and red salsa along with limes, chopped onions/cilantro, and radishes. You can ask them for grilled onions by the grill too. Overall we had a positive experience and will likely be back!

    Tacos!

One of my favorites. Park in the parking lot. Get in line, get as many tacos as you can. Pay. Get a drink or aqua fresca. Add some sauces and fixings. Last, eat in the parking lot by your car. It's the best, really. Taco heaven.

I loved the grilled onions, serranos, hot sauce, and especially the curtido de habanero,so good. The carne asada was okay slightly on the tougher side but the chorizo and al pastor were really solid. I came here for dinner on a week night and my experience here was pretty good. I had the asada and al pastor tacos with all the toppings and they were both so good and full of meat and heat. The toppings can be spicy for some, so be warned. My favorite of the two was the all pastor which was flavorful and I did like the thinly shaved meat. It was not dry at all and was fresh. I also tried the mulita with al pastor meat and that was also soso good. Cheesy, meaty, and indulgent. The additional topping section had good variety with pickled onions, cucumbers, etc. and everything seemed pretty fresh. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of the roasted pepper and grilled onions at the time I went. To drink, I had the horchata and that was also very delicious. It was huge, sweet, and creamy. I also loved how it was not grainy at all. A good pairing with the rich foods. They also have a good amount of seating at the stand with a long table and multiple chairs. Parking is tricky since its street parking only.

Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

We found easy street parking in the neighborhood on 41st Street, and waited in line for about 15-20 minutes. We ordered the asada tacos. They pre-sauce your tacos, which was fine by me, but my boyfriend who can't handle as much spice would've preferred it on the side (so warning for anyone similar! they do put a little habanero on them, so just ask them for salsa on the side). I think I ran into a problem of reading too many raving reviews -- these tacos were good but I was expecting them to be mind blowing, so I was a little disappointed. I tasted the charcoal char, but kind of wished the taste was more pronounced, or at least the meat more seasoned. The hand made tortillas were definitely the coolest part, but I thought they were a little dry too. The ladies whipping those out are artists though. Actually, all the workers here have the assembly line down to the tea, and they definitely add a little flare for a show. I particularly liked how they had a lot of seating at this location, instead of just a couple stools lying around like most taco trucks. It felt more like outdoor patio seating than a normal taco stand. They could probably take more time to wipe down tables more often though. Overall would visit again if in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way for the tacos here.

It was my first visit so I had to get a mix of their tacos and burritos with the various meats they serve. It was a nice fact to know their tortillas have some lard also so it adds a nice flavor as well. + Burrito 2.0 (asada) + Chivichanga (chicken and beef) + Tacos (chorizo, tripe, cabeza, asada) I enjoyed the burrito with asada and thought it was good portion size for the cost. The guac, cheese, and beans pair well with the meat and has a nice grill on the tortilla. The tacos were a solid size as well but I was surprised to find the tripe as my favorite because they fry it and it adds a nice crunch/texture change. The cabeza was a close second with the stewed flavors. The chivichangas were also tasty but not the traditional chimichanga I was anticipating. It's definitely on the softer side as everything mixes together and there's not much of a texture change. Worth trying if you are curious though. I ordered to go so I didn't see if they have a salsa bar but I did have to pay $.10 per to go container which would be nice if they were free. However, I liked mixing their red and green salsa with each bite. I am curious to try their avocado salsa next time. Overall, I thought the portion sizes were good for the prices and I felt full afterwards.
