Prime location, probably best for cheap college kid booze. The food was ok but pretty mediocre, the was something about the food the tasted like it came off the buffet. The mole sauce was ok but undercooked. Everything was well portioned and good enough to finish but I'll say this place is a good value. Service was friendly but they only stopped by for the order and check. No check in in between. It's ok given limited options. Collegetown might have more

Wait staff was busy but still very customer service friendly. Outdoor seating area was clean and there were a few different types of things to choose from on the menu. Food was pretty good. Beautiful spot on the end of the Ithaca Commons.

Subpar taqueria with an oddly memorable aesthetic. We were first drawn in by the quirky decor, especially the masks with their tongues sticking out (see photos). Sadly, the vibe was the best part of the experience. When we asked our waitress a few basic questions about the menu (it was our first time), she looked visibly irritated. You'd think if you're in food service, answering a few clarifying questions wouldn't be such an ordeal. Later, we watched her jog over to another table, forget their order, and then loudly declare "That's what I thought" when the customer reminded her. My girlfriend and I looked at each other, stunned. I got the green enchiladas; she got the quesadillas, which were more bean than anything else. The Tequila Sunrise we ordered was watery beyond belief. My girlfriend compared the food you'd get at Trillium, aka dining hall food but more expensive.

I have been coming here for over 10 years with my husband. We came again tonight since the new dreaded menu change.... The food was terrible . No flavor to the guacamole , the orange limeade tastes different like they're cutting it with a powdered lemonade, and the beef super smothered burrito ( now $17!!) was utterly tasteless. I KNOW when things are changed my husband usually does not but tonight he even said the same. WHY THE HELL are the new owners ruining this place? Y'all better wake up before you don't have a business left ! I read so many Google reviews that say the exact same thing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Please go back to the way it was and bring the old menu back ! I'm going to give this place a rest for a longggg time .

I absolutely love Viva! I always have a great experience and it's one of my top choices when going out to eat in ithaca. The food is fresh and as close to authentic as you can get without being authentic. The servers are generally inviting, friendly, and check in often. The ambiance gives you the feel of a Hispanic restaurant with culture surrounding you. One of my top favorites. And their new spot is proving to be better than the original place they were at across the street.

Rock about 1cm in diameter in the burrito . Bit down on it.

Found a small rock in my tofu burrito. Obviously we agreed it's prob from the beans but they will have to find a new way to inspect the beans because I literally could have lost part of a tooth biting down on this. Manager was pretty nonchalant about it stating that this happens on occasion. Really? Well do better food prep work then. Thanks for the offer to refund me at least because I won't be coming back to spend any credit given. Still charged me over six bucks for a spindrift seltzer! Owner should be glad I didn't send them a dental bill.

We stopped in here while we were visiting downtown Ithaca. The menu looked so good and I was excited to meet my in-laws here. Overall experience was just average, but to be fair we came on a Friday night at 5 pm when it was busy. The waitstaff seemed...disinterested. Food was average, nothing especially out of this world. The restaurant had a nice drink menu and we did enjoy our margaritas. Another heads up, parking is tough in this area and it's mostly on street. Be sure to give yourself an extra few minutes to park.

Mediocre Mexican food without much flavour. The take out is acceptable, I wouldn't recommend waiting in life for the actual restaurant.

Wonderful bar for drinks. I've been here a couple times and have sat both inside (darker, moodier,…read moremore intimate) and outside (livelier, great when the weather is nice, more relaxed). Very unique cocktails! My first visit, I tried the ruby slipper, braulio sour, and the mango lassi. The mango lassi is incredible! It is my favorite drink at Argos! The ruby slipper and braulio sour were also quite tasty but I preferred the ruby slipper a tad more. My second visit, I tried the grapefruit soda (not artificial tasting at all), the Shark Juice (tasted a bit too much like cologne, wasn't a fan), and the Gigi (couldn't taste the hojicha, liked the concept more than the execution). I would get the Gigi again, but would pass on the Shark Juice. Sitting inside, I enjoyed the quieter and calmer atmosphere as well as the soft lighting. The interior decor is very cosy and slightly eclectic. I came with a friend on a weekday evening and it was pretty empty which was nice. The outdoor patio space is very nice- I like the lanterns on the walls and the whole space is quite charming. I left with a few mosquito bites though. Overall, I would recommend Argos Inn!

I personally wasn't a fan of the fried polenta, but also did not try it with the sauce. The first night I tried their lavender lemonade (non alcoholic), which I thought was good, but fell in with the Lemon Tree cocktail the second night. Both nights I ordered the "burger of the month" which was a pesto burger. I added bacon and asked for a Caesar salad instead of fries. We ordered two of the chicken bites so the group could try both sauces, but since I'm not a fan of spicy, I only tried the honey truffle one and loved it. Our servers were very nice and patient (we were a group of about 10), and if I'm ever back in town, I'll be sure to try some of the other entrees!

What a s*^%%# little bar…read more I came here at the recommendation of a local, but these folks are running game on drunk kids late at night. I ordered a double tanqueray and tonic and watched the guy pour the drink. Poorly. (Pun intended) He put the tonic gun on full blast and dribbled tonic into the glass. The bottle stopper was closed, so he had to finger it open as he continued to blast tonic into the glass. I could tell the drink was mostly tonic and said, "Hey friend, that's not a double!" He looked offended and swore it was because they don't use anything to measure their tonic, they just rely on the bottle dribbling out the so-called proper amount. I should have walked away before he sat it in front of me. I took one sip and surprise-surprise, it's basically just tonic water with a touch of a tanqueray. This was my first drink of the night, and I know it's wrong, but neither the guy nor the girl behind the bar were interested in making it properly. Pour out two shots. It's not that hard. But if you're purposefully pouring short booze to drunk people knowing you'll get away with it, it IS too hard. Don't come here. I know at least one local likes it, but nobody likes being charged double for a single anything. Or maybe the play here is to just order stuff in bottles. That way they can't cheat you out of liquor I paid $14 for a glass of tonic and MAYBE a shot of tanqueray. MAYBE. I feel like I paid $14 for the privilege of writing a crappy review. I absolutely got my money's worth.

I believe this is my favorite bar in all of the city of Ithaca. I feel like the more times I visit…read morethe more love I have for this place. This bar is unassuming from the exterior (front side). It fits right in with other brick turn of the century historic buildings within the fabric of the city. If you blink you might miss it. The entrance is a well lit trek down a back alley. Inside the place seems just the right size. It's comfortable. the elements and woodwork are charming. There are plenty of tables and the acoustics are just right so it's not too loud even with a full house. There is a pool table and more than one "real" dart board. Not one of those weak electronic ones. There are stacks of board games that you often see people on a back table playing. The decorations are great including old memorabilia from nostalgic Ithaca bars including the stained glass from Mcawbers and the original carved wooden tables from the old chapter house. Those bars had great history which has now been incorporated into something new which I really appreciate. The outdoor space in back has an overlooking covered porch covered with vines. The back yard is surprisingly large with picnic style tables that can easily fit a group of ten each no problem. When I was there recently there were at least 50 people accommodated in the rear yard space. There are gardens that are fairly well maintained and murals painted on the walls. Extra special is that the surrounding buildings and space look good too. Nowhere you look fo you see a big eyesore. (Like a parking lot or bright street lights) The drinks are good and the variety of people frequenting are fabulous to converse with. I would love to see people dancing and some live music out back on the weekends. These are really good musicians just sitting around reading books for gods sake. I would suggest starting with an open mike night. Live music here would bring it over the top. Super fun !!! I'll for sure be back on my next Ithaca adventure. Hope to meet you all there soon.
