Not sure if they use off brand powders, but it was awful -- and I've been to many bubble tea places. Solid boba spot in Metairie. I typically just order their classic black milk tea (the Vivi milk tea) with 30% sugar and never go wrong. Strong, aromatic black tea flavor (not like... Lipton), perfect milk to tea ratio, and you can definitely tell they use quality tea. My roommate loves their Thai tea since they brew the the tea instead of using a powder like many places do. The staff has all been very friendly and willing to answer my questions about their menu. I have to remember to try their takoyaki and popcorn chicken next time. I don't know anywhere else in the greater NOLA area that serves Taiwanese popcorn chicken. Will update my review after I get the chance to try it! read more

This place is actually really really good! So full of flavor and their menu is full of so many great choices and other drinks I have never heard of before. I got the Blue Galaxy and the Passion QQ. Both drinks leave you with a WOW. So good, super flavorful. This is going to become more of my "go to" place versus the other bubble tea places they have here in Metairie. The place is extremely cute and clean. Sadly due to COVID-19 regulations we are not allowed to sit in and eat/drink there. But the aesthetics and design of the place is very instagram friendly! Had all five flavors of the popcorn chicken: basil, curry, spicy, garlic, and salt pepper. Some of the best popcorn chicken I've ever had! I love that it's Taiwanese style because you get so much chicken in each bite and it's so crispy! The milk tea was also pretty good! Another employee with blonde hair stepped up and said it's really good if I like yakult and fruity drinks. I really appreciated her attentiveness. I decided on the Japanese matcha milk tea, it was a little on the watery side. And I ordered the popcorn chicken with curry and spicy mixed. I went on Sunday, so the day after their soft opening! So I think they had their full menu, or at least more than their limited menu for soft opening. My friend and I both got their fruit tea with 30% sugar and less ice. It was good, but I've had better! It tasted more like fruit punch than fruit tea, so not as refreshing and seemed more artificial than some fruit teas I've had. However, I still slurped it up! We also got the popcorn chicken in 3 diff flavors (spicy, garlic, and basil). Basil was the clear favorite amongst my friends and me! I also tried takoyaki for the first time, and I enjoyed it! It was my first time ever trying though, so take that with a grain of salt--haha! I would go here again because I love the Vivi's in Atlanta! This location is much larger, and they're practicing good social distance protocol. I think that once they get the ball rolling they will be on par with the one in ATL. read more

Been here a couple of times since opening and finally writing a review after I've felt I've encountered a full experience. Went to the one in BR and absolutely loved it. They have the yakult slush in BR and I was looking forward to trying it in New Orleans but unfortunately they don't have it on the menu. My sister and I were also looking forward to the popcorn chicken because it was amazing in BR. Went the day after opening and got the popcorn chicken and strawberry yakult. The chicken was ok, it wasn't as good as i remembered it. The strawberry yakult drink had no ice which I thought was odd but was pretty good. Went again and ordered the same drink but this time it had ice! Thought ok maybe they just opened and the workers were a bit inexperienced on how the drinks were made. No biggie. Then went again because my sister wanted the popcorn chicken so we got it. Chicken looked a little pale, seemed like the batter wasn't fully cooked or something. After having it a few times at vivi nola, it doesn't seem like I want it again. A few friends of mine have had not so good experiences with this place. Some say they've messed up on orders and even forgot to put some in. After only opening for a week or two it is understandable that mistakes happen. Recently I went in to order and the place was empty. I go up to the register and was completely ignored by the cashier. After standing there for a whole minute or two i was finally acknowledged and my order was taken. I rate this place 2 stars because the workers seem inexperienced in the customer service field and the quality of the food and drink fluctuate from day to day. I also don't appreciate being stared down by the workers. Maybe I will return after a few weeks or months after the quality of service improve but until then I will be sticking to sharetea and kung fu tea. read more

I went to Vivi's, and it was really disappointing. I have gone to the one in baton rouge, and the quality of service and food is not even comparable. The baton rouge Vivi's is amazing, and i would recommend it any day. Maybe it is just because of the soft opening, but the popcorn chicken batter tasted raw on the outside, and the seasoning was focused on certain pieces of chicken, rather than evenly spread out. The customer service also was not great. Only me and my friend ordered chicken, and after waiting 15 minutes, they asked me what my order number was and if I got it yet. When they did finish the chicken, he simply said "here," and handed it to me and as I said thank you, he did not even look me in the eyes and walked away. I would have understood if it was busier, but it was only my friend and maybe one other person that were in there. read more

Hi, I am a person who loves to use Yelp, a Yelper as they say, and the reviews on here as usually so helpful. I personally love to help my friends out by reviewing places I go to and they really enjoy my commentary...However, I saw a negative review for this place and it was mostly directed towards the cashier, Emily. I don't know where this person based her commentary for this cashier, but in my personal experience and going there a couple of times already to test our a few of their drinks, I love Emily. She is the best cashier I've seen at that store so far. I can't say much so far since this store just opened but what I can tell everyone there is very nice and friendly and are willingly to work with you. Emily managed to work me through the menu and even told me suggestions on drinks to choose and which one would be best for my preference and she did a fantastic job. The drinks are yummy, though, I do think their flaming brown sugar drink could use a bit more tea rather than milk, but that's okay! Their fruity drinks and classic milk teas are on point , especially with the toppings they offer, a plus side so kudos to them on those; the team also gets out the drinks at a very good time as of now and I really appreciate their attitudes, even if under pressure, especially Suping! Suping was very sweet and made sure everything was the way I wanted and worked at a quick but not too rushed pace; thank you,Suping! It is again their first store here and they're are getting there. Much love for their workers and the people supporting them, also the venue is so cute, very colorful and welcoming towards the eye, and the adorable little skeleton characters all over the store, I haven't see a bubble tea here have a theme like Vivi's.
