First time here, very nice staff; came on a Thursday and they were busy. English is limited but had no issues understanding. Got a gel mani/pedi. Only waited a few minutes, without an appointment. Great local nail salon, overall 4 stars thanks to the super friendly and welcoming staff. My Yelp bestie Jo I. and I ran over on a weeknight with appointments at 8:30pm. Love that they are open late, they close at 10pm!! Woo-hoo. As much as I like my local haunts near me, it's nearly impossible to find a nail salon open past 8pm. This Whitestone location is not far and it's in a residential neighborhood so there's plenty of street parking. The salon is spacious and there are plenty of nail colors and brands of polish to choose from. I am always using my hands so I stay away from manicures as much as possible. My feet however, love the pampering/ massaging/ and grooming. For a little relief, pedicures are the way to go. My technician was Nana. She's got strong hands and was really working that handiwork during the ten minute foot massage. I picked the lemon spa pedicure where your leg gets wrapped as well. Nana was very diligent in removing my old polish and got my nails buffed and shiny again before putting on my new polish. She was meticulous with the treatment, of which I appreciate. My only complaint was that she didn't do a good job on my heel. I'm writing this review two days later and I feel that it's not as smooth as it's supposed to be. I realized now, she only scrubbed and didn't do the blade... Which I desperately needed. Oh well, I didn't notice so that's on me. Overall, her pedicure skills are on point. I opted for the quick dry, which is $2 more. Not sure on pricing but I do not recall paying that much. At any rate, the salon was clean, the tools were new and no complaints on the treatment received. I do have questions on the pedicure service. I'll return and ask next visit. read more

I just finished a wonderful Mani-Pedi Service here! As 2 full-time working moms, my SFAM JT and I were hoping to find a place that would be opened a little late. We found Vivian's and despite the lower Yelp ratings, decided to give it a try. We arrived at 8:40pm (our apologies to the techs, as we called ahead and said we'd be there by 8:30... we took a wrong turn!). No worries, Alicia got us set up in our pedi-massage chairs right away, and she was amazingly patient as she did my pedicure. Simultaneously, Vivi did my manicure, all whilst standing up. My hands and feet were in dire need of some grooming, as I'm on my feet all day, and wash my hands frequently (since I work with patients). I opted to bring my own colors with me, and I heard them whisper how pretty they were ^_^. All the staff speak fluent English too. I only went for the basic manicure ($8) & pedicure ($15) and, after perusing the Spa-Pedi menu, opted to pay a little extra for a 10 minute leg/foot massage ($10). The extra massage was totally worth it! I signaled to Alicia that she could use a bit extra force, and she got the knots out of my tired feet! Started off with a lotion massage, gradually moving through pressure points, then finished with hot stones. Aaaaaahhhh! The inside of the salon was quaint; most of the interior looks like a typical nail salon, with nail lacquer posters, but I did enjoy to calming effects of the multiple parrot fish in the two large tanks. Now that I'm home, I see my hands and toes looks so clean and polished (literally). I know we will definitely return. Can't beat the price, and the hours are great for a working parent or those who get off work late. Just FYI, the last appointment they take is around 8:30pm, so as not to rush through the service. Pros: + Amazing colors - they have a great amount of colors that are perfect for every season + Reasonably priced + Discounts for buying in packages + Great with designs Cons: - Utensils do not seem sterilized - there wasn't an autoclave in site - Reused nail files - I ended up getting the powder nails. Beautiful work I love it so much!! This design is pretty difficult but Joy did so well! I brought a reference photo and she was very precise and helped me choose the colors too. My third time getting a simple manicure and I love this salon. The salon is super clean and always has that peaceful vibe. All the lady's that work there are nice and respectful. Simple manicure is $8 and the way they take their time, I leave satisfied and my hands are left so soft. Color collection is pretty good and they have a new Essie nail polish that costs an extra $2 and I love it. What I ask is what I get my nails not too short and shaped to my liking. Also they have a promo for 10 manicures you get 1 for free and I love that. Will be coming her for sure always!! read more

I decided to try this salon for the first time as it has good reviews and it's close to my house by car. I got there on time for my 11 am appointment but they had me wait 10 minutes and left my nails to soak for another 20 minutes which seems to be a long time of acetone on my nails. I understand that they were busy but I expected to be out by 12 pm, 12:15 pm latest as I had my cousin's wedding to go to. When I initially booked the appointment, the woman told me it would take 45 minutes to an hour which I planned accordingly. Finally when they got to me, there were two ladies working on each of my hands. The lady who was standing as she worked on my right hand was really rough with my nails and nipped my skin because it hurt my thumb and I see a red mark left. I looked past that, whatever it happens. But what got me so upset is my technician named Joy didn't even do a proper job with the gel manicure, especially for $35. I spent an hour and forty minutes for a sloppy job; there are so many streaks and they didn't even cover the sides of my nails (Look at the photos attached for reference). I made sure to express how upset I was but they didn't offer anything and said I should still pay the full amount. This was a big waste of my time and money. I should've just gone to my usual salon. read more

I informed the person at the store that I have coffin nail shape and I would like to keep my nails this shape. Whomever I spoke with informed me that there would be $5 charge to keep the coffin shape because it requires more work. I explained to them that it would cost more time to reshape my nails back to square or round since they're already coffin shape. Please explain to me why any customer in their right mind would want to pay $5 extra to keep the shape of their nails. The person stated: this is store policy. Been coming to this nail salon for about 3 years now. Vivi & her staff are absolutely amazing!! Especially during covid now the way they are handling appointments, the amount of people allowed at one time & all of the safety precautions they are taking, it's just perfect!!. I made an appointment for myself and a friend & when we arrived we were the only people there. There are clear barriers in between each pedicure chair along with in front & each manicure table has a clear barrier to separate you & the staff. They are very clean, very kind, they do a fantastic job every time & they are always wearing masks. We felt super safe & were so happy to feel slightly normal during a pandemic as going once a month to get our nails done was part of our routine prior. Thank you Vivi & staff! read more

They give excellent pedicures but DO NOT get color dip there, both my friend and I got it done and my nails lifted and cracked within days of my manicure. I've had color dip at other places and my manicure has lasted 3 weeks without any chips. I did go back, they did fix the broken nail and the next day another broke! read more

Came here with a friend because she likes that this nail salon does powder gel ($30) instead of the usual UV gel. I came for a pedicure ($13). The younger male nail technician I had didn't seem to speak much English and didn't really bother to try to understand what I was saying. He worked slowly and carefully, but not very efficiently. It took nearly an hour him to finish and the end result was very.. mediocre. Nails were filed unevenly. I'm leaving incredibly dissatisfied :/ I think I'm just going to stick with going to my usual place. read more

I've been in search of a new nail salon since I've moved back to the Whitestone area. Of course all the local salons didn't have the greatest reviews. Vivian's had better reviews, so I decided I'd give them a try. I gave them a call around 10:30 AM for a same day mani-pedi appt, they told me I could come in right then. Great! They greeted me as soon as I walked through the doors. Inside is your typical nail salon. They had a wall full of different color nail polish. Tina started my pedi right away and soon after Zanna started on my mani. They worked simultaneously, hey it didn't bother me - whatever it takes to decrease my time in there. They were both VERY nice and very courteous. The two women pampered me with massages, which was really nice. I truly liked the women that provided me the services, they were meticulous and thorough. I even messed up one of toes after I got off the pedi chair and Tina just kindly fixed it for me - she didn't gripe! I got a simple gel light pink Essi on my hands and light pink reg polish pedi for my toes. The pricing is typical.. probably a little over $50. They have metered street parking in front of the salon, I didn't have a problem finding parking around 11 AM. Whitestone is a pretty residential area, so it shouldn't be too bad to find parking. I think I may have found my regular spot..I know I'll be back here again for future mani pedis! read more

I went to this salon for the first time on Saturday. I will never go back! It was filthy and they gave me the worst manicure of my life (and I get manicures weekly). The utensils we're not sterilized and the towel under my hands was used multiple times and was disgusting. The girl who did my manicure was wearing a mask which was yellow from multiple uses. My nails last me all week with regular polish, they started chipping immediately and the polish was not applied properly! I heard good things about this place, but now I question the judgement of those that go there! read more

This was by far the best manicure I ever had. The staff are so friendly and so helpful. I opted for a 10 minute massage and even that was phenomenal. The place is clean and I look forward to returning again soon.
