Bigger studio for Pole with such cool lighting!
    Emily W.

I love this studio! The new owner, Kelela, is fantastic and has a wonderful staff. I love taking new classes as they're added. Nina and Mirza are two of my favorite pole class teachers and everyone makes these new skills so accessible to beginners. I'm starting to work on my lyra skills and even though my hands are so sore after class, its the best feeling! The lights and special touches definitely add to the ambiance and make for a very unique space to learn and move.

My instructor Anessa was the SWEETEST and very patient with me! It was my first time and she consistently offered help and suggestions in a kind manner. She made everyone feel confident in themselves and their abilities and overall I learned so much in one class! I wouldn't expect to be a pro right away LOL it's surprisingly harder than you think but I think she made it seem more achievable and fun!

Stopped by here for open gym on a weekend and it was a lovely experience! I will just say if you're new to this studio (that is, you didn't attend the previous studio that existed here and are already familiar with the space) it can be a little hard to find. You want to enter the door to the right of the salon on the first floor. At the end of the hall there's an elevator to the left and stairs to the right; take one to the second floor and the studio is directly down the hall. They don't seem to have any signage yet but hopefully they will soon. The space itself is really nice. There's actually a lobby area and two studios: one with poles mounted and one with aerial silks. There's also refreshments and a small retail area. I'll only review the pole space for now but hopefully I can come back to try a class here with an instructor. The space has everything you need for a good open gym session including a sound hookup so you can listen to music and crash pads. The poles are x-poles: easy to use and clean. Will definitely be back for open gym now that I know where to find it!

However, one the instructor arrived she opened the studio. I really enjoyed the experience, I felt like the instructor did a really good job of customizing the class to our various levels of experience which is really hard to do when you have some people who are just starting and some people who have been to many pole classes. She came around and helped each of us individually and provided modifications depending on our level of challenge. I also told her about an injury I had previously and she gave me some tips to provide relief and avoid reinjury. The only thing I didn't love was how dark it was in here haha I love the dark and sexy pole vibes but it was kind of hard to see when we first came in.

I've been doing this style of pole dance movement now for 18 years, and have been with Haus ever since they opened several years ago. Many of my favorite teachers have returned, and I couldn't be happier. I've been to other studios, but this is my favorite. It's truly my home away from home, and the community is just lovely... full of very friendly, sweet women, and none of the cattiness you often find at regular pole studios. The supportive nature of the teachers and other students is so important to me because this is a very vulnerable place, and I feel safe here.

I loved…read moregoing to aerial classes prior to the pandemic butt many of my favorite spots went out of business. I was so excited I purchased their New Client Special that wasa 5 Pack of classes for $99. It was only valid for a month. I reserved the Aerial Silks class on a Tuesday evening. Per the usual new studio first visits, arrive a little early to sign their waiver. I arrived about 15 minutes early and there was no staff at the front. There was a bunch of unfilled and filled waivers. Red flags leaving their customer's private personal data laying around like that. I filled out a form but kept it with me until I can hand it to staff. It was a mess of girls rushing out from the prior class and girls rushing in for the next class. Total chaos. I put my things away in a cubby and stood around until some authority person came along. I prefer the studios where you get your own silk, but at this studio they will have you share silks with other students. They divided us into a group of beginners, and another side for the intermediate and advanced students. We started off with stretches. They are super elegant and stretched with grace here. Good form. Then when we began, the instructor would give us a few steps at a time to work on, then we would piece multiple steps together. When I asked the instructor if she can help me take photos she was too busy and told me to ask another student. I paid the studio, not random students who are strangers to me. It might have been fun with a friend but I did not enjoy going alone. Especially when there's stranger armpit sweat on the fabric. Not enjoyable at all. I actually walked out before the end of class cause I was so over it. I considered coming back to another class to use the sessions I pay for. However their class times are limited. Maybe only 2-3 classes after work, but some of those classes are advanced classes or classes I don't have an interest in. While deciding on my rating for this place... a 3 didn't seem like a good fit cause a 3 is average. If it was average I would have at least came back to use the classes I paid for. As someone who goes to a fitness studio for work outs 3-4 days a week, I literally just abandoned the package I paid for and went to another studio where I enjoyed my work outs. To each their own. This place provides niche classes not every studio offers. However the classes are limited and I don't enjoy sharing space with strangers.

If people are sweating, you should have water readily available IMO. Aside from these basic necessities, the studio is gorgeous. The poles are tall and all the ones I've tried have decent spin and seem fairly new. There's instructors here seems kind and I like that there are advanced beginner classes so you can level up from beginner before intermediate/advanced. I only wish they were a little less expensive but I like that they offer deals for new students. Hope to keep coming back here to continue my pole journey.

My girlfriends and I bought a $15 coupon from livingsocial.com for a one time beginners class which…read moreis usually $25 per class. We had soooo much fun tonight at the Wednesday 7:30-8:30PM class (we brought a little cocktail drink to spice things up). The class we went to was a weekly beginners class for those who have packages with the dance studio or for anyone who wants to try it out. You need to make the reservation ahead of time. So there were about 15 girls total, 3 poles and one instructor. The instructor would teach one move at a time and after each demonstration the girls would take turns using the poles to practice. Pop/Dance music was playing, the light was on low so you feel comfrotable enough to walk out 5 feet in front of you to the pole. After 5-6 moves we put the whole routine together and practiced. Some girls were in high heels, some girls were not. The instructor comes around and encourages and corrects. Veronica was our instructor, she was really nice, encouraging and a really sexy dancer. She doesn't make you feel uncomfortable at all. What to wear: -Barefoot, flats or high heels. Really anything shoe you wear is fine -Leggings or tights if you don't want to rub your skin against the same pole the other girls are, otherwise, bootie shorts are fine. -Tank top or anything you're comfortable in, you'll be lifting your arms to grab the pole a lot The dance studio is a little hard to find. It's near Debra's Cottage and it's towards the back of the building. You won't see the name "From Mind to Body" because there are other dances studios going on. So go upstairs and that's where you'll be.

I have been pole dancing at Costa mesa and Anahiem studios, my instructor is Candice. I want to say…read morethat if Candice wasn't teaching I probably would not keep going there. My reasons for going are that I have seen huge results. For me this is most important because otherwise why pole dance if your not Pink or making a living doing it. Also I have fun learning new spins and tricks. I found by taking classes at other studios that you get more instruction from Candice. She really has a knack for knowing my strengths and my weeknesses. She will help girls get to the next level, as they are ready. I have witnessed some amazing feats by many women in the 7 months I have been going. She always has new stuff to teach as I know she is continuing to learn more on her time taking class after class to keep it fresh. The things that I have had problems with is the class size. It is very inconsistant. Sometimes we have a pole to ourselves and other times I am sharing with 6-8 or more. We used to have 4 poles at the Costa Mesa studio but now only 3. Anahiem only has 2 that work one has been broken for months. Although there is equipment, class size, class availablity problems with From mind to body. Candice handles it all with a great attitude, sometimes I think Wow how is she pulling it off, No matter what Candice has been the selling point for me. If you want to get strong, feel sexy, have fun, and learn all the new moves Candice is the one that will make it happen.

As with any group class, give yourself some space to try a few different teachers until you find the one(s) you enjoy the most! The owner, Shawn, and desk staff are friendly and helpful; always happy to answer questions about levels, styles, and instructors. My go to is Arianna Hyatt. She teaches well rounded true to level classes (read the class description and know thyself). She motivates and encourages dancers to meet their goals, whether that is fun, fitness, training for an audition, getting back to dance after a hiatus, or perhaps all of the above. She provides a supportive environment while offering technique, structure, and a little challenge - if that is what you're after. The community she's cultivated within every class is palpable. If you're a beginning/intermediate or advanced level dancer, looking for ballet, broadway, or tap, definitely check the schedule for her. (Double check the level as she teaches a variety.) If you're on the fence, I'd say find any class that interests you at the studio and give it a try!

Current format is more broken down steps, on repeat, then more added to one song. Basically, you're learning a choreography. It's kind of challenging for me. Makes my brain and body work a bit harder to be in sync. There's also an abs section. I do love the new format, but I personally like the nonstop hip hop dance better just because I like nonstop cardio! LOL They offer a lot of classes & the owner is nice, mellow, yet fun personality. She always makes it a point to say our names/greet us. Appreciate that gesture!
