This was surprising to me as I have been receiving dental care every 6 months for my whole life and haven't had a cavity in 10+ years. My prior dentist was in my hometown and someone I had been going to since childhood and was very familiar with my teeth. Because we had a good relationship with this dentist, my mom even asked them what they thought and they warned that I should get a second opinion. However, I was scared of having cavities, so went ahead with the fillings on Dr. Kearns recommendation ($400+ out of pocket for a college student). I was also told to buy an expensive specialty toothpaste in the office that retailed for half the price on Amazon. Over the next several months, I had horrific, constant dental pain where the fillings were. I couldn't eat anything on one side of my mouth for months. After about two weeks of pain, I went in for a revision, which did not help. Only now 6 months later I am starting to be able to eat on the other side of my mouth. I should note that I had no dental pain in this region before despite the diagnosis of three cavities. I should have switched after this, but had scheduled a 6 month cleaning immediately after my first appointment which crept up on me, so decided to just go in and do the cleaning. When I arrived, the front desk told me I had a balance of $170 that they were about to send to collections. I had not received a single text, email, or physical mail notifying me of my balance. I was able to pay this balance, but knowing that they were happy to send this to collections and potentially impact my credit score without any notification is a disgrace. The cleaning itself was fine, but my hygienist told me Dr. Kearns was very busy and when she came to check me out she barely spoke a word to me, only rattling off dental jargon to the hygienist. I will not be returning to Intown Dental Center. I have never had anxiety related to the dentist until now. The poor bedside manner, weaponization of authority to overprescribe procedures/sell you things you don't need, shoddy fillings, and lack of billing transparency all made this a horrible experience.

He smiled and said he had already pulled my tooth earlier while he was asking me general questions. My point is he was smooth and soothing I didn't feel anything no pain and it was within thirty minutes that I was done and back to normal no pain and back to work. But, I must say that this dental office strives for customer service and making the customers happy but they don't come out and tell you they DO NOT accept anyone's insurance and is not in anyone's network. I had a routine cleaning and it cost $187 and my insurance company since I went out of network only paid about $78. I unfortunately had to pay the remaining balance of about $110. They would not lower the bill. They told me it was my responsibility to read through the paperwork and services were already rendered. I understood and have since paid off my outstanding bill but I want to let everyone know please double check to make sure that whatever dentist you go to it is within network. I always thought that dental offices would tell you before hand if they were out of network or not to save you money but unfortunately like Dr. Walton's office they do not and I feel like they don't care about their patients just their money. I had to get my child out of school early because you can't be late. We waited about 30 minutes for the dental hygienist who was very sweet, named Barbara. She took time to let my son look at her tools before using them, she even offer a choice of flavored for the toothpaste. Another, thirty minutes before we saw the the Dr., who was very nice and very professional, but we were kept waiting too long in an empty room. We read all of the books I brought with us multiple times. My child was tired and hungry by the time he was seen. I don't blame the service providers, as much as The scheduling , but it would have been much better to just make an appointment for 3 or 3:30pm if we when we didn't leave the office until after 4:30pm. I requested a private room, but I expected to be seen promptly. We will return, because it was very clean and organized. The doctors and staff were all very good with children.

They have the highest technology in the dental field and they really look to improve the health, look and maintenance of your teeth.
