My only regret is not taking the infant series! This class connected me with the most amazing support system when I needed it most and I still talk to those moms every day. The classes taught me so much and I left feeling a lot more confident as a mom. I experienced a lot of postpartum anxiety with my daughter and this class was what helped me most out of anything. I loved my experience so much I ended up bringing this to Las Vegas. Becca the owner, is such a lovely teacher and makes you feel so safe and comfortable. She is incredibly knowledgeable and down to earth, I felt very lucky to have her as my instructor. Definitely make this a part of your postpartum experience!

I've met the most amazing women (first in the newborn class and then again in the infant class) and the friendships I've made are priceless. You'll learn so much that's specific to each week/stage, and trust me, there's nothing like having a group of moms whose babies are the exact same age as yours. If you're on the fence...just take a chance and get out of the house and do it!!! There's nothing else like this out there. Do it for the community, the learning, and most of all - for you!!!

I feel so much more prepared about even just one thing and it's so comforting. My husband was able to come as well and they even dedicated a part of the class to the dads and how important their role is. Sarah was the instructor for the course and she was so friendly and welcoming. She was really thorough, didn't make us feel rushed, and literally answered everyone's question with such thoroughness and care. I'm so happy we did this and will be back for sure! It's nice to know there's support even during/after.

I had been exclusively pumping, pretty comfortably after a lot of trial and error on my own, with 24mm flanges. However, my output was diminishing and I saw so many different approaches to flange sizing online that I decided to see a professional to get sized. I was shocked when Leora said I was a 14/15mm instead of 24mm given the vast discrepancy, but after trying the smaller size out in her office on my pump, the output did improve, and the comfort level seemed fine. I was initially very excited and bought the new smaller flanges from her. When I went home, I did 2 more pumps with the smaller flanges, but noticed that my nipples were starting to go numb at the end of each pump and throb in the hours after, even when I adjusted suction to the minimum. I thought maybe this was just part of the transition process and was initially planning to try the new flanges for a full day, but the pain kept getting worse so after 3 sessions with the smaller ones, I switched back to the 24s. I noticed new dark spots on my nipple tips that looked like bruises. The next day and a half of pumps even with the 24s were miserable as my nipples were constantly throbbing and sore from having been injured. Finally about 36 hours later, they started to feel better. Thank goodness I stopped before the damage got worse. I'm very disappointed by this experience because Leora came highly recommended by a friend, and has so many excellent reviews. I understand flange sizing is a bit of art and thought I could trust a professional with so much experience, but unfortunately that did not turn out to be the case.

My husband found Aileen online out of desperation at week 3 after I had tried every nipple butter and pillow on the market. From day one, Aileen has been a knowledgeable, calm voice in this process and has transformed breastfeeding from an extremely painful task into a sweet moment with my baby. She came to our home and first observed how I was breastfeeding, then made position adjustments for a better latch. She weighs our baby before and after feedings, and it's so reassuring to know he's getting enough milk to keep growing. On top of that, she answers all 1,000 of my questions, even the ones that aren't related to breastfeeding Aileen has helped not only with the physical pain but also with the mental burden, constantly reassuring me that everything will work out. Our baby is now 2 months old and so healthy. He can feed without a pillow and latches perfectly. Aileen still comes because as he grows, things change, and I just love learning from her. If breastfeeding seems impossible right now and nothing seems to work for you, you need Aileen!

I found Labor of Love by doing some of my own research online. And thank God I did! My doula,…read moreKaren, was my rock throughout my labor and was 100,000 percent amazing--I'll definitely be working with her for my second! A little backstory: I was overwhelmed and so nervous about finding "the one" person to be a part of the most important event of my life. After doing my research and reading through all these bios, I honestly was left feeling overwhelmed, especially knowing how indecisive I can be. I knew I just had to trust my intuition and my gut on this one! After looking at Karen's bio on their website, I had such a good feeling. Staci (the owner), who was super friendly and professional, helped me get connected with Karen, and I booked an interview right away! Karen was so sweet and asked me about my pregnancy experience so far. We discussed how I wanted my birth to go and any concerns I had. There wasn't any pressure to hire her, and it just felt like she was already invested in me, like I was already family. I even had her video chat with my husband to make sure we both felt comfortable and vibed well together--and we sure did! Overall, Karen ended up being the perfect balance of knowledge, experience, and professionalism. It was the most perfect amount of care I could have asked for. She was also such an advocate for my birth plan to work out. Before, during, and after my labor and birth, she was always naturally in tune with what I needed. She was never overbearing, worked so well with my husband, and gave him space to be a part of my support team as well. I am so grateful to have come across Labor of Love

My experience with Labor of Love was almost two years ago now but continues to upset me when thinking back on my experience. We hired Lauren as our doula, who made it clear she expected us to go far past my due date as a first time mom. While it's possible for that to happen, it didn't in my case. At 39 weeks and at 5am while in active labor and getting ready to head to the hospital, she let us know she had Covid. Her backup was Karen, who I wish we hired to begin with as she is far more caring and professional. Though unfortunately our experience still fell short and we ultimately delivered without Karen present. We were left feeling like we invested a lot of emotion and money into this process with ultimately no help. Staci has been incredibly rude to us since then and even revoked our access to watch her training videos, sending me a link to pay her once again when wanting to rewatch for our now second baby on the way. Karen herself even recommended we ask for a partial refund due to our experience, but Staci lacks the professionalism and courtesy to her clients. Truly mindblowing that she revoked access to the training videos after we had already paid for them. I would stay far away and recommend a more experienced and caring doula group.

I let…read moreMegan know and she provided us with a lot of sound advice, like when to get off the pill, what user friendly apps to use to track periods and symptoms, and other lifestyle adjustments we can make, so that it happens fairly quick, but also with the best versions of ourselves. It took 3 months, which was perfect for our timeline and what felt so fast for being on the pill for over 10 years. Megan knew I was pregnant the day I found out. She has incredible intuition and just so happened to text me minutes around the time I tested positive! I will always remember those 9 months of pregnancy fondly, especially because I had Megan checking in on me/us, letting me know what I can expect at certain doctor appointments, and always just being a text/call away for all of the random questions I had (I am located in Northern CA). The week of our due date, Megan continued to check in on us. Our baby was overdue, but I was never worried because Megan had taught me how normal that is. She even prepared me for what to expect from others: nonstop texts/calls of where the baby is, of course! Because Megan prepped me so well, I was ready for anything and didn't let anything or anyone get to me. I am so fortunate for her help with the expectation-setting; it really went a long way. Baby is now earthside and Megan continues to be there for us. She has made sure that things are going, like breastfeeding, labor and delivery recovery, and more, while making sure me and my husband's mental health are still alive and well! I have also attended a couple of the Friday meetup groups when I was in So Cal and seriously love them. It's such a great atmosphere and gathering of moms with their babies, getting to know each other and sharing their current "happies + crappies." They sometimes bring knowledgeable guests, like a pelvic floor therapist, too. Their baby gear swaps are also so great! I've gotten to donate some things for the next family, while gaining some awesome things for baby, like clothing, bottles and a portable tub. This is already so long, but I could easily go on about how great Megan and her services are. You will feel safe, listened to and advocated for.
