My daughter found her gorgeous dress here but what we all loved were the sleeves!…read moreMy two complaints however are1) are that there is no one there who can really advise about how a dress should fit and what to look for when there are alterations. No alterations are done at the store so you have to pick up your dress and cart it around to find a seamstress. Also when I went to order the sleeves I had to pay twice as much for them because they're coming from New Zealand. Jordan took the time to genuinely listen. She first asked about my journey so far and what I was hoping to get out of the appointment. I shared some general thoughts on what I'd liked from previous tries, and she did a wonderful job pulling a variety of styles that aligned with my preferences. It was clear she kept everything I said in mind with each dress she brought out. She also made a thoughtful effort to stay close to my budget. I came in with low expectations, knowing many of the dresses I had seen online were priced higher than what I was hoping to spend. But I could tell she was doing her best to be mindful of both my financial and stylistic needs. There were a few moments between rounds of fittings where my friends and I were waiting and I felt like the momentum dipped a bit. At the time I wished things moved along more smoothly, but in hindsight a little rest between rounds wasn't so bad. I still got to try on nine different dresses during the appointment, and thanks to Jordan, I found the one!

My consultant was Debra and right off the back, she was lovely! She had such a great sense of humor and allowed me to be open and honest and what I was looking for. We stayed within my budget (yay!) and she was so patient and helpful. I did end up finding my dress, which I didn't expect to because the dress that I ended up buying was VERY different than what I came in wanting (sounds like an episode of the show, am I right?) but it was the perfect dress for me. Debra was legit! The staff was so lovely and kind. It was a perfect day.

There is a huge variety of styles, designers, and options, which is great if you want to try on a wide range of dresses in one appointment. That said, the overall experience felt much less personal than some of the other bridal salons I visited in New York City. It felt a bit like a factory of brides, with a giant room where many brides are trying on dresses at the same time. The mirrors were also surprisingly small and free-standing, and I felt very close up to them, which made it hard to really see myself clearly in the dresses. I also would have liked to step off the podium more to see how the dresses looked naturally, but my stylist seemed to prefer that I stay on it (and of course dresses tend to look better when you're elevated on a podium). The selection is definitely a major strength, and I understand why Kleinfeld is so well known. However, there are other bridal salons in New York City that feel much more personalized, spacious, non-judgmental, and relaxed. I also noticed that some of the stylists standing around elsewhere came across as judgmental, which took away from the overall atmosphere a bit. Overall, I'm still giving 5 stars because of the dress variety and the iconic experience, but I would say brides should go in knowing that it may feel less intimate and personalized than other boutiques in the city. I went on a weekday to avoid paying for the experience. I'd recommend others do the same, as I don't think the fee is worth it. My stylist also was the least knowledgable about dresses compared to other salons.

Wedding Atelier - New York City…read more Wedding Atelier completely ruined my dress during alterations. The cups that were sewn in were two sizes too small, causing my bust to bulge out of the dress. The underwire cut into my chest, pushing one breast to the right and the other upward. With every fitting, the situation got worse rather than better -- leaving me in tears with my wedding only a week away. I ultimately had to take the dress to another seamstress just to salvage it. To make matters worse, after three fittings, they had not even completed a hem. Wedding Atelier charged $1,300 for alterations -- payment required at the time of purchase -- and refused to refund a single dollar despite the damage they caused. The owner, Carrie, was completely unsympathetic and unwilling to take any accountability for what happened. She is unethical,. If you want to protect yourself from unnecessary heartache and stress in the lead-up to your wedding day, I strongly urge you to take your business elsewhere.

They were soo helpful, warm, and welcoming, and made us all laugh (which really helps make what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming experience so much more enjoyable). The dresses at The White Gown are also beautiful, and the dressing rooms are lovely and spacious. Additionally, the appointment fee is much lower than at many other stores, which is a huge plus. Echo gave me her number in case I had questions after.

From the moment I walked in I felt like I could just be myself and have fun with the experience...my mom, aunt, and I had a blast. The shop itself is a really cool space, very open with lots of windows and natural light, and I appreciated the champagne and water that was offered (and the insanely comfy robe in the fitting room for when she ran back out to grab more gowns!). The gown selection is one of the best I saw during my shopping experiences, they have gorgeous designers and a wide range, every style you could ask for and a great variety of price points in the luxury gown space. As far as the gown selection and try-on experience itself, it was all around amazing. Lauren was the absolute sweetest, I instantly felt like she was my best friend. She was so knowledgeable and gave me some great advice and things to think about while we were trying things on. She also was 10/10 at selecting and suggesting gowns based on what I had sent in and told her I was liking. I appreciated that I was able to browse around before my appointment and then again with Lauren at the start of my appointment time, showing her gowns I liked and wanted to try and also seeing what she suggested. Some shops just want to pull for you and stick to what they've selected so I really appreciated that this experience was not that, I was able to know I had an expert there for suggestions and to guide me, but also knew I was in the driver's seat and could pick out the ones I liked for myself as well. I was never rushed or discouraged from trying anything on, Lauren would just warn me on pricing if I pulled something over budget so I could decide if I wanted to continue with trying it on. I ended up finding what became my second top dress here, it was a super difficult decision between my top two. They were wonderful and let me book another appointment to come back in before leaving the city to try it on again, which was so helpful to go back and look at the gown knowing I had it narrowed down to 2. They even let me know they'd get me in for a say yes appointment the next day before leaving if I ended up choosing that one, just to have that experience instead of having to order over the phone with the measurements we had taken. There was no pressure at all, nobody interjecting overly strong opinions about the dress to sway me, they just gave me the space to spend time in it and evaluate and give thoughts when I asked, and everyone there was so kind and supportive. They even asked to see photos of my dress when I told them unfortunately another one had won out. I felt loved, supported, and lifted up throughout my entire experience and honestly am slightly heartbroken I didn't end up getting my dress here because it was just such an amazing time. I would put Jaxon James at the top of any list for NYC bridal shopping, I seriously can't say enough good things about my time there and with Lauren!

I really appreciated the proactive communication. Thankfully, it was fixed just in time for my appointment and everything was comfortable when I arrived. My stylist Laure listened to what I was looking for, pulled dresses that fit my vision and never made me feel rushed or pressured. She even pulled a wild card for me which I thought was fun. The experience felt very personal and special. The only downside was that a few of the sample dresses on the racks were in bad condition. Slightly dirty from so many try ons and another had a slight body odor smell, which took away from the experience a little. I understand sample gowns get tried on frequently, but it was something I noticed. Overall, it was still a wonderful bridal shopping experience and the exceptional customer service. I would absolutely recommend Jaxson James to any bride looking for a thoughtful, personalized dress shopping experience.

Didn't see any current popular bridal…read moredesigners or perhaps just didn't pick them out from the 6 or 7 dresses I selected to try on or the few racks I browsed. The fitting "area" didn't have a mirror so note it's more challenging to closely inspect the dress on your own. Definitely overpriced for very limited selection, which lacked variety. Was surprised that samples were often only priced maybe $500 off the "original price" (questionable if the listed original prices were even accurate, seems inflated, so hardly any cost savings). Many of the dresses were barely more than 20% off, most lower. They do have a small selection (1 rack) of plus sized dresses, although I didn't look through them but something to consider if you fall into that size range. Most of the dress sizes in bridal sizes 8-12, which had several racks. Hastily purchased a gown that I do regret. Note their policy of final sale, no exchanges. They do not take walk ins, but I called day of and received a same day appointment. I guess if you're desperate for a last minute dress with not many options, this places fills a role as you may find something to settle on. Apparently they have independent tailors they work with in store who they claim can quickly do last minute alterations as well but I cannot speak to the quality of said work and I see reviews questioning the quality. I also noticed they handle sales tax in an unusual way, which others may want to be aware of. Wouldn't say this is worth including in your journey to finding a gown in NYC unless you've run out of options.

But everything after purchasing was a complete and utter nightmare. I was told I'd need two alterations. I ended up with four, not because I changed anything, but because they literally forgot to complete the previous alterations - twice. That's not just careless, it's inexcusable. Their scheduling was a disaster. Appointments were constantly rescheduled due to "conflicts" or the seamstress being unavailable. I don't know how they run a bridal business like this - no organization, no accountability. It gets worse. I flew in from California to pick up my dress two days before my wedding, only to be kept waiting THREE HOURS because - surprise - they hadn't finished the alterations they were supposed to complete over a month prior. When I finally tried it on, the dress was sewn improperly, bunching awkwardly at the side, and there were threads sticking out everywhere. They always claim they do a "final check" to ensure perfection. That's a lie. They had to make more corrections on the spot, so I ended up waiting another three hours. So much for a quick pickup before my wedding - it was a day wasted in pure stress. And as if that weren't enough... on the day of my wedding, they couldn't even zip up my dress. Turns out the seamstress had sewn thread into the zipper, so it kept catching and getting stuck. I was minutes from a breakdown when, luckily, my hairstylist - not someone from Pronovias - came to the rescue. She knew just enough sewing to cut the thread so I could actually wear my gown. She was an angel. Unlike this hellish store. Severely unprofessional. If you value your time, sanity, and wedding day peace of mind, stay far away from Pronovias. Beautiful dresses aren't worth the chaos they create.
