We have an Airstream trailer, and the outside storage area would not unlock no matter what we tried. We called a few other shops, and found this one that would service the trailer. Obi arrived promptly and got to work diligently trying to get the storage locker open. He found that likely two pins inside were broken and had to remove the lock. He did that without damaging any of the exterior of the locker. We were so glad we called. It is not something we could have done ourselves without the right equipment, and we really appreciated the hard work! Obi was very professional. I have been to Village Key shop a few times, but not enough that they know me before today. Today I went in with vehicle key fobs from Amazon for 2005 GMC Canyon (which must be programmed by the dealer or locksmith (someone with a special computer). I had 2 different sets of 2 key fobs, because I had read about people having issues with programming them. Dylan was extremely helpful in getting one set programmed in the morning. For whatever reason, when I was trying them in the afternoon they only worked inside the vehicle or right by the windshield wipers. I went back and Dylan tried programming the other set. Only one of them worked, but it worked better than the first ones. My experience with amazon key fobs for this vehicle has been awful (I knew from the amazon reviews that might be the case), but my experience with Village Key Shop and Dylan was excellent. They went above and beyond to try to get everything to work. I highly recommend this shop. Excellent customer service and great prices. read more

Village key showed up on time & did an excellent job repairing my lock. I had Pop A Lock come by and they charge me $69 to tell me they don't work on smart locks and can't fix it. This was after they had re-keyed it a few months before... How can they not fix that? 2 times I've ordered key fabs and both times I've had issues. The first time I called and told him I was on my way and should be there in 30 minutes. I arrived and was informed he left for the day. Today I call and say I'm coming up there and as I pull in right at 1130 he looks at me and locks the door and flips the closed sign for lunch. I apologize for the long post beforehand but I want to be clear about my experience. I am just going to state the facts and let you conclude why I gave the rating I gave. I took two med carts up to Village Key and Alarm (VKA). I was told that within a few days they would be able to pick the locks and make keys for the locks they had picked. Now I needed four locks pick, one in front of each cart and one in the back of each cart. Each cart has three locks all together on it. I called after a few days have passed. The representative in the front said since they were high quality locks they were having a hard time picking them. I said that was understandable and told him give me call when they get it done. One week passes I call again. I get the same story high quality locks and they were still working on them. Two weeks since I have dropped off the carts I called back I get the same story. I am not in a hurry but I am starting to worry. Three weeks since I dropped off the carts I inquire what is taking so long. They said they got one of the locks picked and were working on the other locks. I told them I want to be called in week if no progress. Week four I have to call VKA. I will admit I am not happy with the results of 4 weeks one lock pick in four weeks. I ask the guy can they do it or not. He tells me he had guys spend whole days working on the carts with no results and they are just good locks. I tell him I am coming up there to pick up the carts. When I get to the store I get same story and same run around. This time they offer to drill the locks and put new cylinders in but if they get the drilling wrong they could damage the cart. Now I am considering going to another business. I ask why not offer this several times I called previously. The guy did not know. I told fine drill the other three locks and replace the cylinders. He told me he get it done that day or tomorrow and would be calling me tomorrow to pick them up. I get my first call from VKA the next day to pick up the carts. I arrive and the guy wants me to go back of the building to get the carts. I go to the back and he brings the carts out. When I inspect the carts I find they had drilled two of the cylinders, one of them they had picked. So let me be clear about this they had picked one lock in the front of cart A, drilled it, and replaced the cylinder. The one that they had been drilled in front of cart B had been the one probably giving them the most issues since it is at a forty five degree angle. The locks on the back of the cart untouched had nothing done to them. I told the guy that VKA did not finish the job. They still had two locks to do. He took the locks back and told me he call me Friday. No call on Friday. I call them and he said that he thought I would just be up there Friday to pick them up. I asked how am I supposed to know if they were done or not. He said because he said they would be done then. I told him I would be up there to pick them up as soon as I can to pick them up. I have not picked up the carts yet but my expectations are low. read more
