    Horrible moving experience. I went with these guys as they were a bit cheaper than 2 other competitors. Made a big mistake as they arrived 2 hours late and were disorganized. Luckily, the person who had the elevator reserved after me didn't use the elevator, or we would not have been able to move. Overall, it took the movers a long time, about 2 hours longer to move my one bedroom apartment than last time, which is 50% more, and it ended up costing me more. They also broke and scratched some furniture. One desk broke, another shelf came apart, and 2 stools faux leather was ripped. Other scratches and scrapes to 3 more furniture pieces as well. Definitely would not recommend these movers.

    Worst experience I have ever had with movers. Please go elsewhere. I hired them for a cross-country move from DC to LA. One-bedroom apartment, fairly straightforward. The issues: - Arrived 2 hours late. - Did not wrap my furniture in blankets. Completely destroyed my couch and shattered the glass on my vanity. Wood on my bookcase gashed. - It took them an extremely long time to pack up my apartment. There was no sense of urgency. At one point, I went downstairs to take a walk around the block because I was so anxious. When I came back, one of the movers was laying on top of my dresser, just hanging out. These are not professional individuals. - When the truck arrived in Los Angeles, VKH had hired additional local movers to help unload my things. One of these outsourced movers was so shocked by the poor packing job done by VKH and lack of blankets that he took a photo of the truck and sent it to me. He could see how upset I was when I saw that my furniture had been damaged, so he stayed behind after the VKH movers left and helped me unpack the large items (bookcase, Peloton, etc.) Because of the poor experience, I asked VKH for a discount. They offered me a 5% discount. At least that was something but it felt paltry in comparison to the stress caused by the situation. I'm currently dealing with their insurance company. I've submitted receipts for all the damaged items and an adjuster came out to my apartment to assess the damage. We will see what happens, but I'm not optimistic. It's been so terrible that I contacted my credit card company and disputed the charge for the move. Just go elsewhere. There's no reason to deal with this type of poor service and the trauma of having your belongings damaged.

    DO NOT WORK WITH THESE GUYS, THEY WONT SHOW UP WITH OUT ANY NOTICE! Sean, VKH sales manager, confirmed that they will meet me between 8-9 AM on the move date but nobody showed up and he didn't even answer his phone. They are supposedly open on Saturday morning and I called 3-4 different numbers listed on their website including the one he called me from but all went to answering machine. Left multiple voicemails and he never returned my calls... He called me a couple of days before the move date (7/30) and asked if it's possible to change the move date as they were overbooked. It was not an option for us and he said he will change the other customer's date since I booked my appointment earlier... they didn't show up anyways... I think the got a bigger job and dropped mine without any notice! Very unprofessional, very irresponsible and very irresponsive. I had not read their yelp reviews before but now I know they did the same to other customers as well! DO NOT HIRE THEM, THEY DONT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER! THEY DONT RESPECT THE CUSTOMER TIME AND CANNOT BE TRUSTED!

    The horrible job of packing fragile items

    We booked this company after two home visits where they assessed how much stuff we had and quoted us based on that for packing services and moving services. We told them that since I am pregnant, we would pack as much as we could and leave fragile items for them to pack, professionally and then some things would go to the new house and most everything would go to storage which was less than 5mins away. Vlad told us Everything (packing, moving, loading and unloading)could be done in one day since we had already packed majority of everything besides the fragile items in the kitchen and frames and other glassware/decor.  We were happy to hear this and went ahead with this company since we believed everything he said was true. As you can guess, the move did not happen in one day like promised and they had to return 3 days later to finish the move because they ran out of time. The first day, Thurs Dec 12th, the movers were very helpful and nice but had absolutely no experience with packing. I am extremely disappointed how they packed fragile items where many things broke and I am not even sure how many things broke inside the boxes that went into storage. We ordered food for all of the workers (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and my mom left her sandwich on the counter and someone packed it. Why would you pack a sandwich when we just received it?! After my mom asked where it was, he went and opened boxes and brought it back out. He also packed packing supplies. Why would you pack all the tape and scissors when you see everyone packing?  They really lacked common sense and the fact there was a huge language barrier was not helpful. I've repeatedly told them not to pack certain things or not to touch it and they went ahead and did it anyways. They even put chemicals and food items in a TRASH BAG and called it a day. Well , as you can suspect, the chemicals leaked and now the food items are no longer edible. The most helpful person there was Nick and the two guys from the 2nd day. Otherwise, I am very disappointed with the professional packing services. We left all the fragile items for them to pack because they are a professional company and we assumed the packing services will also be professional. We were beyond wrong. Most frames were not bubble wrapped or packed what so ever. They were dumped in a box and then a blanket was shoved inside. That blanket provided no padding what so ever. There were many decorations in a box that had no padding and many things broke inside. None of the fragile boxes were even labeled as FRAGILE so many boxes were thrown around in the storage unit and I am not sure how much of those things broke.  When we were at the storage unit, one of the movers decided to use our cooler as a stepping ladder. My husband offered many times to get a ladder from the house but he refused and said he is fine. That cooler is probably dented now. He also threw boxes above each other and almost dropped our glass drink dispenser but thank goodness Nick caught it because he was standing near by. This company misquoted us big time. They said the entire move could happen in one day and clearly that wasn't the case. We had literally already packed majority of the house.  The amount of time they took to pack was ridiculous. Many boxes that were used were half filled, yet we were charged for the packing supplies, and things were just dumped in there so realistically, it shouldn't have taken them very long since nothing got properly packed. If we knew it would take multiple days, we would have gone with a cheaper company since we received many many quotes. The workers were also completely overworked hence why they did such a poor job of packing things, especially towards the end and they all mentioned that this move should have been done in 2 days vs 1 day, which we completely agreed that vlad miscalculated all of this. Trucks provided were also way too small. During the home visit, we listed out all the large items we have and a much larger truck should have been sent. The first day, two small trucks were sent and both were filled to the brim. The second day, they sent one small truck and it still got filled and so many large items got left behind. No reassembly was done. Everything was left at the house in pieces so we had to spend time to reassemble everything. We kept hearing how they didn't have enough time to do reassemble. We've moved several times and never ran into issuesp like this. I really expected the company to get back and compensate some how since we paid hourly for the packing and moving and he didn't seem very bothered by any of this. I would NOT recommend this company for any packing or moving services!

    Scratched heirloom

    Sadly, my experience with VKH Movers was stressful and not one I can recommend. While they are priced competitively, in ways, I got what I paid for in terms of confusion between team members, tardiness, lack of follow through, and a strong lack of customer service from the company owner. While several factors caused me to write this review, the main issue is that I was forced to do very strenuous work for two hours, receiving and situating over 70 boxes into my attic because the team refused to use my attic staircase. This is something they should have assessed prior to the move and not as we were literally in my condo attempting to put things where they belonged. While I would never have wanted them to be in harm's way, I assess they were not. My tenants had used the attic without issue prior, and I did too that day. The next day, a VKH team member climbed the stairs without issue or concern when I showed him all the work I had to do myself the night before. I don't believe I should have had to pay the hourly wage of the third mover when I did his job for over two hours. I said as much to he owner, Vlad, and he said he would check with the team about my concern. He never replied to me and has refused to respond to subsequent communications. I had bruises on my body and my back was sore after doing this work. I didn't not expect to have to do this on my own. I paid thousands of dollars to compromise my back health, as I have preexisting conditions and have been in and out of therapy since. It's hard to say that that this caused my resulting issues, but I'm sure it didn't help, and it was a risk I should not have had to take. When it became apparent they were going to refuse to go into the attic, even though the ladder was formerly used by a male tenant without issue and held up to 250 pounds, I did what I had to do to complete my move. I wouldn't have been able to move around my house otherwise. In addition, I had to remind the movers multiple times to protect my wood floors and to lay tarps/mats down. One team member was coughing, and I had to ask him to keep his mask on in my home. After I got out of the attic, I realized he had not. I have a respiratory issue, and you cannot be too safe during a pandemic! Also, I had identified a cedar chest, an heirloom, as a high value item at the onset of the move. When the team unpacked boxes they stacked a bunch of stuff on my heirloom, and I didn't realize there was a new scratch on the top until I removed what they had stacked. Unfortunately, this was after I had paid in full. I should not have paid in full. I realize that was my mistake. My perception is that Vlad, the owner, has his money and doesn't care to deal with my concerns any longer. I only asked to be compensated for the hourly wage while I was working as his third team member and to have the scratch his team caused buffed out. I am part of a highly transient community in DC, and I will not shy from sharing my experience. I believe it an abysmal business practice to completely ignore a customer with concerns about damage his team caused to their property, as well as concerns that I was put in a precarious situation when his team refused to put my things in the attic. I'm thankful to Mason and another team members for their hard work during this move. Mason did go up the stairs on the second day, thus proving it could have been done the day before, and The other team member did enough to pass the boxes up the staircase to me so we could actually complete the move. I am, however, dismayed by Vlad's awful customer service practices and believe a moving company needs to see their jobs through to completion without relying on the customer to do the work for which they were hired.

Prince Movers had the initial best rate and their hourly rate was great - far less than the other companies. Plus, they were able to move us on a Saturday. Our team was Carlos, Omar, Marvin, and Rafael. They showed up exactly on time, were polite, worked well together, and kept us fully informed of everything they were doing. One thing that was great is how they took time to prepare the home for the moving process, protecting floors, stairs, and other surfaces to make sure zero damage was done. Their wrapping of items was great - you can definitely tell that they care about protecting your items. Moving is always a pain, but Prince Movers and the team were awesome from the first quote to the final hand shakes with the team. I would recommend them to anybody and I will definitely use them again.

In the past, I have done a few corporate (business) moves and have a high level of expectation from professional movers. Joe Brown exceeded every expectation I had. Moving is usually very stressful for me as I am a perfectionist, but Joe and his men made the entire process incredibly smooth and worry-free. They were extremely professional, and worked quickly without cutting corners. Joe (the owner) was on the property the entire time (as he promised) and he worked alongside his men. What impressed me most was how carefully they handled everything, especially my numerous, VERY heavy and ornate pieces of Victorian furniture. Every piece of furniture and every box was treated like it was their own. They wrapped and protected items properly, loaded everything securely, and they did not damage a single thing during the move. Additionally, the entire team was friendly, extremely respectful, and clearly very experienced. They communicated well with me and with each other as a team, stayed organized, and kept everything moving efficiently from start to finish. They truly care about doing the job correctly and making their customers happy. They moved me into my elderly mother's occupied house (not an easy task) and were also very respectful of her furnishings and her wishes. I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!
