We came in to check out the store, since I haven't been there in many years, and to see what they had to offer. The selections of desserts, tofu and pastries looked amazing but we wanted to also wanted to check out similar foods but at Hong Kong Market. We really were considering coming back but as soon we walked out, the owner of the establishment had made a rude remark regarding us coming in and to only leave. I LOVE coming here to stock up on my Vietnamese snacks. Grab a basket located by the door because you'll need it! Everything made here is fresh, delicious, and authentic. There's a huge variety of street snacks, desserts (located in the refrigerators and the cart in front), and banh mi, all for incredibly cheap prices. There's a $10 minimum to use your credit/debit card but it's pretty easy to load up enough goodies for that to not be an issue. My go to place for quick Vietnamese street food that I usually crave. I prefer the Che here than Bambu next door because it is cheaper, and I like the mini portions. I usually stop by to get the steam buns, tofu for my weekly lunches, and just any random snacks such as the pickled mangoes or the banh mi sandwiches for my family. This place is more than cheap price for good fresh and authentic Vietnamese food. I just wish that they didn't have the $10 minimum credit rule. I am a frequent customer of VN tofu as my mother and I like to grab some sandwiches for lunch after we shop at Hong Kong Supermarket. My experience and service there has been declining since day 1. The last time I was there I had the worse experience ever. I ordered 6 sandwiches and I specifically told the young lady 5 special 1 BBQ and toasted. As i was watching her make the sandwiches she put the veggies and meat together to toast. You do not warm up the veggies in the sandwiches because they will spoil. When she finished I asked her to mark which one was the BBQ sandwich and she looked at me like I was dumb. The entire time I felt like I was being ignored based on my skin color because she was not looking at me when I was ordering and speaking Vietnamese. She remade the sandwich and she went on to speak to the person beside her than work. I told her in Vietnamese I wasn't going to but the sandwhiches and just went to the register with spring rolls i was already holding. She looked shocked because I wasn't of her color so I must have not been Vietnamese. Then at the checkout I asked for a sugar cane drink and Thai tea drink. As always they fill the whole cup with ice and pour half a cup of drink, as always. Upon leaving I saw the owner and told him about how awful the service was and he said he would speak to the workers. Last time I will ever come back to this place. This is my favorite takeout restaurant, there's a variety of homemade dishes, desserts and drinks and the service is Devine, Everyone here is so nice and would help you for your every need.On Sunday this store is crowded and sometimes line up to the outside in, on holidays the store is packed but it's worth the wait to buy there special combination Banh Mi and there sugar cane drink which is sooooo delicious, I recommend coming here for any meal during the day or just to grab a snack , it sucks how they close on Wednesday but you just have to wait bc that's the only day they close, all in all one of my favorite places so obviously a 5 star rating!! read more

bahn mi heaven. when I see a Vietnamese bakery I almost inevitably have to go in and try the bahn mi. It doesn't matter if it's like my third lunch of the day and I'll have to take it to go and hope I'm hungry later, I'll do it anyway. VN tofu has consistently had the best bahn mi that I've encountered in Atlanta (and it also falls under my rule that one should never pay more than $5 for a bahn mi). The bread is crispy and flavorful, the pate, pickles and meat are generous and well balanced, and there is a good selection of sandwiches. My go-to is the bbq pork, although the mixed pork is also excellent. If you take a group or feel like having some sandwiches for later they have a buy 5-get-1 promotion. aside from the bahn mi they have a staggering array of packaged meals from bun to com, shrimp and bbq pork fresh spring rolls, shrimp dumplings, rice paper rolls, papaya salad, pandan cakes, and a large array of dessert rices plates I can't even begin to describe. Deserving special mention is the bahn xeo, or vietnamese spiced crepe filled with pork, shrimp and bean sprout goodness served with basically an entire head of lettuce, healthy serving of mint and other fresh herbs and a tub of nuoc cham to dip it all in. They seem to not consistently have this, but if you see it, grab it. Opposite all of this splendor is a hot bar with various kinds of bao, fried tofu, sausages, etc. They also have sticky rice balls, soy milk by the gallon and serve all of their pickles, pates and bread in bulk if you feel like having your own bahn mi fest. And then there is fresh cane juice, orange juice, vietnamese coffee and a whole host of strange (not to imply anything negative, just nothing I'm familiar with) fruit- and jelly-filled drinks. to make a long summation short, this is my go-to bahn mi in Atlanta, and provides both that familiar comfort and the exciting uncertainty of all of the other things in the deli that I can't even name but always want to try, it is like a small budget trip to somewhere far, far away from Atlanta that always ends with well-sated stomachs! read more

Right next to Hong Kong Supermarket on Jimmy Carter. I've tried many dishes from this place and must say the Banh Mi, Soy Milk, Sugar Cane and Tofu products are exceptionally good. However, all the other pre-made "to go" dishes are very mediocre. Banh mi are buy 5 get 1 free, baguettes are 3 for $1, most tofu blocks are between $1 - $1.50. The store is very clean. Food seems to rotate quite a bit = fresh food. Don't expect any kind of customer service though. Overall, a good place to go for all your tofu needs. read more

One thing I don't like is that their stuff go bad quick. They leave a lot things out for so long. I wish one could give negative stars. I usually get my banh mi from them along with a lot of other things but today I bought 10 banh mi dat biet and can I say that it was ridiculous? There was barely anything in my banh mi. Completely disappointed in this place and will not be returning. Once upon a time they made a decent banh mi and now it's a couple slices of meat. This place is always busy. They have a ton of items and it's like a reward in itself to shop and buy food here. A lot of stuff they serve you would be better of buying from them than trying to make it yourself. However, perhaps because of the freshness of the food it doesn't last long. So, don't stock up because it will spoil and go bad past a day. Banh mi sandwiches are good and can't beat the price and speed of service. Nice place go grab quick food but I have noticed that they're getting stingy with their portions. Asked for my banh mi with veggies in separate baggies so I could eat it later and there was very little meat in my baguette. I'm Vietnamese so I do not approve. Yum! I'm had a craving for banh mi and this did not disappoint. I tried the BBQ pork and the vegetarian. Vegetarian was my favorite, great flavor and textures.They make their own tofu which is of course leagues above the boxed stuff. I had no idea what all the food items were in the front but plan to try some in the future. Very reasonable prices, too! Only negative thing I have to say was there weren't any open parking spots close. read more

I like the vietnamese sandwich here, the original, this is the only place i know so far that prepare the sandwich already for you to take on the go, most places you have to come and order and wait, only thing i don't like about the sandwich here are that they don't put enough ingredients.. or meats.. my wife love the chicken sandwich with extra jalapeño and no soy sauces. She missing out on some great sauces lol she hate the smell.. i love the smell haha, there are lots of great foods here to go, tofu, mushroom tofu, shrimp tofu, all type of stuff and maybe over 30 different type of foods of your choices, i have tried maybe about 15 of them and like most of it, but my favorite is the shrimp patty, which is alittle too expensive in my opinion for something so small, but it totally worth the price for this and i always come back for more, i learn my lesson of not to eat 3 of this shrimp patty in 1 day tho haha! read more

I am from Charlotte, NC. I visited GA for some attractions with my kids. However, a friend of mine told me about this place (first time being here). Overall, I was satisfied about their food... don't get me wrong, I love vietnamese food. I ordered a sandwich and the lady did charge me for it but she told me she didn't charge me for it. After I showed her the receipt and proved her wrong. She gave me my sandwich. However, now that I am at home, looking over the receipt, I realized that she over charged me for some things that I did not pay for. My total was $28 - but only ended up with 4 items. On here, she charged me twice for two items of $3.98. I take blame for the fact that I did not look carefully, for my first time being here because it was really busy so I didn't want to slow down the process of ringing up customers. I didn't even bother looking at the receipt/bringing it up to the cashier's attention. This is a warning for anyone who wants to know about this place. Please check your receipt - before leaving. I notice many places like this would charge you for items that you did not pay for. Sad to say, this is how they make extra bucks on the side. I'm not mad about the $8 bucks that I lost, but I am upset about the fact that I didn't catch it. Would I shop here again? ---- Yes, I would. But I would double check my receipt next time. I only come here to order eggrolls and their sugarcane drinks. I've tried their packaged meals and they are not good at all. Their packaged chicken meal is a no go. Chicken is tough and their colored red meat isn't great either. The meal just doesn't come together. Also their sandwiches are very dry and also cold, especially their meats. Whenever I get anything from this place, it's always a 50/50: 50% that the food will taste fine; 50% that it will taste bad. Twice in a row now, my food turned out to be bad. The last time, the flan had a sour taste, and you could tell there was something not right about it. This time, my tofu stuffed with pork was also sour at the bottom. I called both times and was told that they make them fresh every morning. I told them that they needed to remove their bad stuff so people don't get sick. Well, something is obviously not right. Worst Vietnamese fast food and bakery ever. I am Vietnamese and I eat Vietnamese food all the time and have been to the best bakeries in California and Texas. We are vacationing here and always hunt for Viet food. When you first step into this shop, the food looked wonderful; varieties of che, bread, cha (ham), steamed buns, banh bo, xoi, just to name a few. However, looks are deceiving. We bought chicken steamed bun, cha chien, bread, banh bo, and xoi. After two bites of the steamed bun, the bun meets the trash can. It took two bites to get to the meat. It was the worst banh bao (bun) I've ever tried. Cha chien (fried ham) is ok, I'd give it a 2.5 star. The plain bread sold 3 for $1 is a 2 star. The banh bo met the trash after one bite. It tasted like soft rubber plastic. And the xoi is a 2.5 star. It was too hard like it was not fully cooked. I'm not sure why other people gave this place 3-5 stars but I'm never going back again. read more

I came in here yesterday and the older lady who worked the front was attentive and very nice. Handled the transaction very swiftly. I bought three pork buns and some sticky rice. The pork bun had a tiny eye lash hair in it. I didnt think anything much of it but they need to be more careful. I came back in today and got two pork buns. Went to checkout and a younger girl checked me out. No hello or thank you. Didnt say how much i owed just took my money and gave me my change and that was it. She had a very rude face and extremely poor attitude. In all of my years eating at Vietnamese restaurants I have NEVER encountered anyone as rude as this girl. I am embarrased that this girl puts off that image for the Vietnamese people. Someone needs to talk to her. Trust me girl dont act like your sh** dont stink. You are not as pretty on the outside as you think and clearly you arent pretty on the inside either. Ill be bringing my family elsewhere. I love this stop and shop place for Vietnamese food. The food is always good and fairly price. it's as good as it gets. The only thing is the clerks is a hit or miss. sometimes you get the nice and polite ones. sometimes you get the haughty ones that squishes all your food (i.e. 10 food items in one grocery bag). all in all I love it! read more
