If I am to be honest, we had not really thought much about flowers beyond our bouquets etc, and didn't really know much about this realm. And we were blown away! The floral decor was a big WOW factor at our wedding. The only thing I had in mind was cool tone theme for our wedding and Trang and the crew nailed it! She checked in prior to the wedding to make sure she had noted our vision and requests. My only regret is not renting their arch and going with our venue's arch. As you can see the venue's arch was very flimsy and couldn't hold the arch properly (bent out of the perfect circle shape due to the weight of the flowers.) My wife and I were determined to pull off a beautiful, intimate wedding & reception on a fairly small budget and I'm happy to say we did it! The two things we agreed to splurge a little on were the food and the flowers because we both agreed that great floral arrangements would really elevate the space and help set the mood. After looking through the portfolios of many florists in the Bay Area and setting up calls with a few of them, we decided to go with Vo Floral because of Trang's enthusiasm and her fairness. Some florists mandated that for a wedding, packages had to start at $5000! Sure, we wanted lots of flowers, but for a small reception in an already well-landscaped backyard, starting at that amount was really unreasonable. Luckily, with Trang we were able to work out a package that both fit our budget and would provide the appropriate amount of decor for our event. We ended up going with three hanging floral arrangements, four centerpieces for the dining tables, and a bouquet for my wife. Working with Trang was extremely easy, even though we had to do it remotely from Los Angeles, where we are based (we had the reception in Palo Alto). We shared with her our ideas and showed her photos of the backyard location, and then trusted her to create something wonderful--which she and her team absolutely did! They arrived exactly on time the day of the wedding & reception and were so warm, enthusiastic, and excited for us! And they did an amazing job. They did a phenomenal job - we absolutely loved everything, from the aisle covered in rose petals to the bouquets to the beautiful centerpieces. Vo Floral was great about accommodating any and all special requests we had (such as roses to give to our mothers as a first gift during our ceremony). This review has nothing to do with Trang's work. This review is strictly based on our initial consultation and subsequent email exchange. I contacted Trang because I really liked the bouquets that she provided for a friend's wedding. Trang was very responsive to my initial request for a consultation. We spoke on Wednesday and I was able to arrange for a meeting on Sunday. I was very specific about my budget for flowers and what I would require for the wedding: bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces and perhaps an arrangement for the foyer. She showed me pictures from her portfolio to confirm the vision. I left the meeting feeling confident that I found my florist. However two days later she emailed me a quote that was DOUBLE the budget I specified. When I called to follow-up, she noted that this was the price based on the pictures we reviewed. I understand that we looked at her portfolio but she should not have shown me those arrangements if she already knew that it would exceed my budget. I recently attended a 1:1 workshop with Trang focused on garden style bouquet. It was an invaluable experience as a person new to this industry and art form. You cannot beat learning hands on with someone as experienced as Trang. She really helped me learn how to blend colors, pay attention to form, and highlight the beauty of each flower. Trang is incredibly talented and her love for flowers shows. If garden style is your thing you have to book her for your wedding or workshop! She is also an incredibly kind person with a big heart. As someone starting out she definitely gave me the feeling of being welcomed into the floral community and unfortunately that is not always a common experience.
