I understand swapping out a plant for a plant if needed, but to receive something entirely different AND with a "Hidden Treasures" tag on it as if it was bought at a store. My boyfriend and I love to support small business, but we were very disappointed and we both, do not recommend this florist shop. My boyfriend had placed an order for an arrangement for my birthday in December and when we received it, it was beautiful, BUT it was already starting to wilt the first day, so you can imagine how quickly the flowers died. Please keep in mind that these flowers he purchased were about $140, and I did not want to give this business $140 for flowers that were already dying. I had originally reached out to the shop by their phone number to be compensated for this. The woman I was talking to said they guaranteed the flowers to be 72 hours, which was no where stated anywhere on their website. How are customers suppose to know if the flowers were to be guaranteed 72 hours if it's not stated anywhere? Even then, my entire floral arrangement died much sooner than 72 hours. We were told that we would be compensated with store credit or another arrangement, we chose to have my arrangement replaced. After deciding that, we were told that we would get the new arrangement that following Friday/Saturday, and we were asked to leave the original vase outside the house for them to pick up. As Friday rolled around, I never got a text back when I asked what time were they planning to arrive. As Saturday rolled around, all of my texts were ignored, so I had to ask my boyfriend to text and call their number to ask when they plan to drop off the new arrangement. As Sunday came around, we never got our new flowers and all of ours texts/calls were ignored. It was extremely upsetting that all of our texts and calls were ignored. What's the point in telling us that you will replaced our arrangement if you were really never planning to? This shop lacks proper communication with their customers. My daughter is working as a travel nurse in a San Leandro hospital. Since my husband and I couldn't be with her on her 30th birthday, I thought it would be nice to have flowers delivered to her by a local florist. I checked for one close to where she is staying and was pleased to try ordering directly from a shop, instead of through a 1-800 number. Daughter's birthday was on a Tuesday and I was placing the order on Monday. It was fairly early in the day for CA, since it was early afternoon in NJ. East Bay Flowers website says they will fill same day orders, so I felt comfortable that an order placed relatively early the day before wouldn't be a problem. I tried calling and no one answered, so I proceeded to order online from the website. I made my online order, put in my credit card information and received an email confirmation sometime a little later. There was a reference in the order payment process that I was concerned about (telling me to put my CVV in a specific box that I couldn't find even though there was another area that collected it), so I thought I would follow up by phone to make sure things were ok. There was no answer and the voicemail was full. The outgoing message indicated that I could text the number if it was an emergency. It wasn't, so I didn't. I thought East Bay Flowers would call me if there was an issue with my order. I heard from my daughter a few times during the day on Tuesday. She said nothing about getting flowers from us, so I texted my son-in-law. He confirmed that the flowers had not yet arrived. I tried calling East Bay Flowers and the same thing happened as the day before: no answer, full voicemail. Before I went to bed on Tuesday night, I asked my daughter if an arrangement had ever arrived, and she said no. By this time it was past 8 pm CA time. I texted and sent an email using the email address link on their website. Shortly thereafter, I received a message from my own email provider saying my message was not deliverable. I found a different email address on East Bay Flowers Facebook page, so I tried that one. On Wednesday, I called East Bay Flowers about 40 minutes after their posted opening time. I reached an employee who did not seem concerned or even terribly surprised that my order was not fufilled. She offered to send a delivery today, suggesting that the shop would "upgrade" my order and add "extras" if I wanted. Since I'd already ordered the largest of three sizes of the online arrangement I chose and ordered a balloon, I'm not really sure what she was offering. Also by this point I was not willing to give this business $126 for flowers delivered the day after my daughter's birthday, so I asked for a refund. The unperturbed employee told me that my credit card had not been charged. She told me that their normal process is to call people who place online orders to confirm and asked me if anyone called me. I said no and I pointed out that this step of their process is not mentioned anywhere on their website that I could see, nor was it mentioned in the email confirmation I received. She rather jauntily agreed that it is not. I asked for some kind of written evidence that my order had been cancelled and that my card would not be charged and she replied. "You can trust me." I explained that it was nothing personal against her, but that I did not feel comfortable trusting East Bay Flowers because I couldn't trust them to deliver flowers, which appears to be a main part of their business. I requested to be contacted by an owner about this. I indicated that I would follow up our conversation with an email of my own and the employee confirmed that the icloud email address listed on East Bay Flowers Facebook account is the right one to use. The employee cheerfully advised me that I can also keep an eye on my credit card account to make sure East Bay Flowers does not put my charge through. I have now followed up by email and by text (I tried calling again and no one answered and the voicemail box is full) and await a reply. I think I will be waiting a long time. One star chosen under duress by Yelp rules. I do not recommend East Bay Flowers. read more

Called them at 6:45pm on a Monday. Asked for funeral arrangement for Tuesday to be delivered to Castro Valley by 4pm. Very professional and nice staff answers the phone and let me know if an order was placed before 8am the next morning & if we put in notes where it was to be delivered - they could do it. They promised and did not disappoint. Arrangement was beautiful and was definitely there by the time it was needed. Thank you so much. I really try to support local businesses, but I am so upset with this establishment and the way I was left on hold for 13 minutes. I should've read the reviews before choosing them because the same thing happened to me as someone else. Just wanted to send my mom some Thanksgiving cheer since even though we are a mile apart we aren't eating together. Its my mom so I always choose the deluxe or middle value flowers. With tax and delivery it came to $94 I would have spent a $1000 so its not the money. BUT, what she got and what I ordered was vastly different. I'm talking about the size and amount of flowers. Mom was happy and surprised but when she sent me the picture I was very disappointed. I called and NICELY explained although mom did get her flowers, I ordered deluxe and what she got was nothing like what was on the website. Talk at length on a Wednesday about what we desired for my daughters prom corsage and boutonniere (small white baby roses, for both), on Saturday when we arrive to pick it up the invoice had been misplaced. I ordered a premium sympathy arrangement and it was delivered almost 2 full days late. Within 12 hours of delivery, this is what they look like. See pictures. Half the flowers are dead. Paying over $140 for dead flowers that are supposed to cheer up friend going through a loss of a parent is an acceptable. I spoke with Lorena 2 times yesterday and she said her driver tried to deliver and wasn't able to. Since when can you not leave flowers at a front door? Not to mention, I left specific instructions where to leave flowers if the person wasn't home. This order was not cheap but the service was less than stellar. We are very unhappy and embarrassed that my friend's flowers delivered died overnight. You need to rectify this. Do not buy Valentine flowers from this company. They are scammers. My daughter spent $75 for an arrangement that was supposed to be in a special vase. Instead, the clear vase was lined with a piece of paper. The arrangement that I received also looked nothing like the photos and it was filled with really inexpensive flowers such as carnations. A complete and total rip off. I tried for a few months to reach someone by phone and they never picked up. Unreliable & unacceptable service! I ordered a custom Lei to symbolize the African flag for my son's high school graduation. The prepaid order was placed a FULL week in advance and the specifications were clearly communicated. The florist advised that green & yellow orchids w/ black & red ribbon would be an excellent representation of the African flag. The Lei was not ready for pick up when I arrived, and it was not assembled as discussed the week prior. No one bothered to call me to express any difficulty w/ fulfilling the order, instead I received a poorly assembled Lei & a multitude of excuses about the mishap. ***updated review post stalker*** Hopefully my first review remains so that the Yelp community is aware of what happens when you give more than 4 stars to this business, yet warn potential customers of BAD and potentially illegal business practices on Monday's and Tuesday's. As per my original review I mentioned a gal named Rosa, wanted my money cash, no receipt etc. I mentioned how I went in the following day and was pleasantly helped by LORENA the OWNER etc.. fast forward to now .. As many of us do not have time to spend wasting checking every social media comment we leave nor app we have, I too failed to check my Yelp app for many many many months. Once I did however, I was entertained, amused and for a second the thought of a stalker crossed my mind. I had not one but 2 "Yelp compliments" waiting to be approved (see new picture shared) Such approvals looked anxiously awaiting my "ok" to be included on this thread. Sadly for the author, I was unaware of her existence. ( Excuse my pronoun usage as I am assuming, that I am using the correct one-solely based on the authors own words on previous other reviews etc) As any logical person perhaps would do, prior to my long awaited approval, I felt the need to vet such author. What I came to realize is that I either had a stalker, a Yelp member with too much time on their hand perhaps, or perhaps 'Rosa' from my first experience at this business was reaching out for some TLC, or all three. Smh. Yet the Yelp reviewer claimed to be named Delia R. Perhaps the 'R' is in fact for Rosa? (something tells me that too will be clear soon) if this is in fact the case how is it possible for a "business owner " such as Delia R. Give her own business 5 stars, (check pictures) and berate many other businesses solely on what seem to be some sort of narcissistic Tantrums? This is where Yelp Admin needs to step in. So as I have read many reviews, and made many decisions based on such reviews etc, I feel it best and necessary to keep y'all well informed. Use such information as you best see fit. However my original review and recommendation on this business is to work solely with LORENA as her designs and customer service are the best and to avoid the days mentioned. Should you walk in and encounter any employee /owner suffering from RBF syndrome, I'd suggest it's best to come another day. I was in need of some flowers for my grandma's birthday party, and unable to find a nice potted plant I decided to just go with a bouquet instead. East Bay Flowers is on my way home, so I dropped in to see what they had. The very large cooler that spans one wall had a selection of flowers sold by the stem, as well as finished bouquets in either cellophane or vases. The selection of flowers overall is somewhat limited; irises, tulips, roses, carnations, daisies, and hydrangeas were available to buy by the stem, so I chose orange and red tulips, which were $10.99 a bouquet with the option of adding baby's breath and greens for an additional $3.00. The woman at the counter, who I believe is the owner, was very friendly and quickly created a beautiful arrangement. It came out to $27.29 for everything. Very pretty flowers, friendly service, and the recent paint job and new awnings make the place look great, and apparently new lighting around the building is coming, as well. read more

It did not look as though a professional florist handled the job. What made it really bad was there was a spray just like it at the service and it was absolutely beautiful. None of them were open but the flower petals had brown spots, The greenery was flopped & half dead. Finally after 3 days they opened but again 1/2 were already partially dead. This flower shop is very unorganized and has poor customer service. I stopped by the day before Mother's Day (Saturday) to see if I can place an order for pick up the following week. I was told to come back on Tuesday because they were afraid that they'd lose my order. I stopped by on Wednesday just to make sure that their schedule wasn't busy and I was told to come back the next day or call. In short, they refused to take my order at the store. The lady working there kept making excuses. We asked if she can input the order in the system but she explained that a different workers would come in the next day. It should not matter if different employees work everyday--they should be able to find the order in the system. In addition, their website is not very user friendly. Something isn't right about this place. I am very disappointed that they gave me the runaround and wasted my time. ADVICE: Go find another floral shop and they will take care of you right away. My mother and I were worried about the size of the center pieces and the fullness of them, but they did outstanding work. My sweet naive husband knows that I love flowers but has no idea what different type of arrangements are. He has purchase a mother day arrangement from here about 2 years ago and when I seen it the first thing I thought was omg am I dying that looks like something for a funeral service! He was disappointed with my reaction and I was mad that he spent $200 on them. After that we agreed it was best if I just purchase the arrangements that I like and he would just reimburse me. Well this week was my birthday and he surprise me again with an arrangement from here. He said he told the lady please make a happy birthday arrangement for my wife. Well again I was completely disappointed with the arrangement because they look like " hi I'm sorry for your loss!" And not "happy birthday, I love you!" I joking ask him if he bought this from a mortuary floral shop ! He told me he bought it from here. (It's close to our home) I just realize that they are literally on the same street as a mortuary so maybe that is what they specialize in? Update: The flowers were delivered A DAY LATE. They never called or emailed me of this delay. I would have cancelled my order and bought flowers elsewhere had I known they couldn't complete the order appropriately. For $65 you would think that would be a decent arrangement but it was TINY. I was on my way to Safeway to buy my boyfriend's mom flowers for her birthday, I but saw East Bay Flowers open. Of course they were following COVID19 protocol and only letting one customer in at a time. I wanted to support local so I decided to give them a try. They didn't have all the flowers in stock for their signature bouquets, but the employee told me to come in and put flowers of my choice together to make my own specialized bouquet. I wanted to go for the deluxe size but I don't think they had enough, and they charged me for the regular bouquet. I was able to put together beautiful array of pink and purple flowers. They gave me a complimentary card and they packaged it so nicely so that I can take it home with ease. The ladies there were super nice and accommodating. I would highly recommend! I called prior and asked if they did the dog one and the lady who answered informed me that they do the poodle out of the carnations. I told her I would be on my since I was five minutes away. I arrived and was greeted by the lady who answered my call and I told her after much thought I was leaning more towards the kitty arrangement.
