It's super convenient because I can place my order through the Vocelli online ordering system, which lets me use my BlazerBucks instead of cash. My go-to order is always the small Garlic Spinaci pizza paired with a Caesar salad. If you're a fan of fresh veggies and a heavy hit of garlic, that pizza is honestly delicious and hits the spot every single time. The location is a major student hangout, so it's usually pretty crowded and you should expect a bit of a wait. Even though the parking lot is small, I've found that a space is almost always available right when I pull up. As a student at UAB, I eat at a lot of the on-campus dining options. Vocelli has to be my favorite place to eat out of everything on-campus. It has many students eating while working on school work, and they have TVs showing the news or sports. They have a mix of booths and tables to sit at. I ordered at the counter and the worker was efficient and nice. I got a small cheese pizza, which is about $10 for 6 slices. I think you get a good amount of food for the price because I usually have to take a few slices to go, even though it's a small. The wait does sometimes take a while but this time around it was about 10-15 minutes. My pizza was very hot and fresh. I always have to let it cool down before I eat it. It was crispy and the cheese and sauce were flavorful. My food is always fresh and tastes amazing whenever I go here. I would recommend this to anyone looking for good pizza. read more

Shitty service the two times I've been there. I'm convinced no one knows what they're doing. Don't bother ordering ahead because they won't make it in time. First time ordered for 4:30 pickup. We get there and they say "a few minutes" that turned into 45 minutes of us waiting with them saying "we don't see the order till the time you put" as in they didn't see it till 4:30. Makes no sense to me but I digress. So I order ahead the next week. Then I try for the next week. I order for 3:15, same type of food, should be done for 4:15 considering the last time took so long. We fast foward to me calling to verify "hey yall start cooking at 3:15 right?" This was maybe at 2:30/2:45. We fast forward to them saying "no we cook it for the time you put to pick up, we already started making it" I say "well that's not what I was told I can't pick it up for 3:15 based off of what yall told me last week" so I say "I thought yall would be done 4:15 at max and I can get there at 4:30" why did I get here at 4:35 which is literally giving them more time... fast forward to it being 4:57 I still haven't gotten my food. I've been told "just a few minutes" twice. I asked "what is a few" he says "ten minutes" negro that is not a few. That's 3x a few so what the hell are we lying to me for? I will never understand why we think saying a few minutes with 15+ minutes passing we think is a good idea. Needless to say the pizza is regular and the wings are decent. Is it worth the wait? Vocelli's Pizza is one of the better food options we have on campus in my opinion. The pizza is usually hot, cheesy, and tastes better than typical dining hall food. The portions are big and definitely shareable. I usually go at peak lunch time and although it's not usually busy, it can still take a while for your food to come out. I wouldn't go if i was in a rush but it's definitely delicious and worth it if you have a gap in between classes. The prices are pretty fair, though not exactly "cheap college student" level fair. There is usually always a place to sit and they have TV's so you can watch sports or the news. It is a bit out of the way for me from my classes but they usually have parking but honestly it's not too far of a walk. I will definitely be planning on going again soon! read more

I have lunch here last week and I had a very positive experience overall. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and a side order of breadsticks, which were very fresh and delicious. I had Vocellis this week and I really enjoyed. I have been numerous times. It is in a convenient location on UAB's campus. It is walking distance from my classes. I got a small pepperoni pizza. I normally call in my orders so that it's ready by the time I get there. In the evening the lines can get long so I would recommend ordering ahead. The prices are fair, they accept dining dollars which is nice. The menu has a variety of options including, wings, salad, rolls, pasta, desert, and more. Vocellis is open 7 days a week and closes late. There is plenty of seating but I disturbed by the smell when I went in. I couldn't eat inside because of how bad the smell was. Yesterday I ordered Vocelli Pizza for dinner and I decided to do takeout, because sometimes carryout takes a minute. I ordered a stromboli filled with bacon, pepperoni, and sausage, plus an order of their cinnamon rolls for something sweet on the side. The stromboli was hot, fresh, and packed with meat, which made it really filling. The crust was baked nicely, not too thick or doughy. The cinnamon rolls were a nice addition to balance out the meal. They were soft, warm, and sweet, with plenty of icing. The last time I got the cinnamon rolls, they were over baked, so It was nice for them to be fluffy again. The order was ready on right on time, and everything was packaged well, which I appreciated. On Monday I went to the Vocelli Pizza on UAB's campus. I got a small buffalo chicken pizza, and I thought it was really good! Their crust is nice and soft and has a bit of sweetness to it which I enjoyed. The pizza had a  great flavor and a good spice to it without being overpowering. There was also some kind of cheese under the buffalo sauce that was delicious. I could tell the chicken on it was the pre-cooked frozen chicken strips, but it wasn't terrible and I guess this is technically a pretty casual and almost fast-food pizza restaurant. I went at about 7:30 on Monday night and they were kind of busy, so I think I waited about 20 minutes for my pizza. Besides pizza, they also have sandwiches, pasta, appetizers like garlic bread, and dessert like cannolis and cookies. Vocelli's is an on-campus dining location at UAB serving the classic Italian foods like pizza, subs, and pasta. The Italiano sub is my personal favorite with the thin crust pepperoni coming in second. Overall the food is pretty good but a bit greasy. Service is alright as it can sometimes take up to 30 mins to get one item. On normal school days the inside is filled with college kids grabbing a quick bite in between classes. Vocelli Pizza on 14th St. has been a go-to after many long days studying at Sterne. This semester, I have not been subjected to such torture, being fully remote, but luckily, I had a meeting on campus today and was able to stop by Vocelli's for the first time in months. I met up with my friends at the library, and we walked up the hill for dinner. We had some pepperoni Vocelli rolls as a shareable, and they are always my favorite. I also split a pepperoni (I know, kind of boring, but it's a classic) stromboli with a friend. I drank a Diet Coke and brought home some cannolis to share with my mom. The food and service were all good, and the atmosphere really hit that college student nail on the head. I personally have heard some crazy second-hand tea at this restaurant, which was one of the quietest yet most interesting dinners I have ever had. Conveniently, Vocellis is right off of 10 Ave S and 14th Street S making it located right by Sterne Library and the dorms as well! Vocellis has a lot of great indoor seating options as well so often times you see that many students come to hangout with their friends! I ordered their Lunch Special #1 which comes with a small 1 topping pizza and a drink for $10.99. The wait wasn't too long and the service was pretty good. My pepperoni pizza did not disappoint! Walking into Voccelli's to grab a couple of large two-topping pizzas was a pleasant experience. The casual atmosphere and convenient on-campus location make it an ideal choice for an easy dinner. I have eaten at Voccelli's many times, and the pizza has never disappointed. Sometimes the cashiers can be confusing, but the service is usually alright. This time I called ahead and got a pepperoni pizza with olives and another pepperoni pizza with mushrooms. They were both very cheesy and delicious. Many people don't like pineapple pizza, but I think the sweetness adds the perfect balance to the slickness that come from the jalapeños. I always love coming to vocellis on campus because the staff never fails to greet me with kindness.
