Stayed here for a couple of nights recently. The hotel is right off the freeway, so it's pretty convenient and easy to get around. The hotel itself is nice looking and on the smaller side. It wasn't too busy when I stayed, so it had a pretty quiet and calm vibe, which I liked. They have a pool where you can hang out and relax, but it was honestly too hot for me to enjoy it lol. The beach also isn't too far away if you want to head out that way instead. Service was just okay. I called down once to request a few items, and it took a while for them to bring everything up. They also forgot the toothpaste, so I had to call again and wait for another delivery. Nothing too crazy, but definitely could've been better. Overall, my two-night stay was comfortable and quiet. I wouldn't mind staying here again if I was in the area, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice. read more

Was surprised to have housekeeping service for just a two day stay. Was given some cinnamon cookies at check-in for a heritage celebration. Bar had live music, received a free drink with loyalty status. Parking and location were convenient and bath amenities were thoughtful and smelled great. It would have been nice to have been notified the gym was closed. There were several touch points before check in when this info could have been made available. Room 214 Major Cons: Fire alarm during the first day and not having access to running water was a major issue!!! Having traveled a long distance to come to a room with no water was not the welcome I wanted. Waited about an hour for the water to work. Bed was not comfortable. The air conditioner kept making noise throughout the night and the air hit straight to the direction of the pillows which was very uncomfortable. Freezing my head!!! The bathroom sink was a fight to turn on, the knob was very tight to turn. Rooms are so thin, and you can literally hear the conversations of the next room. They do provide single use ear plugs for your stay. Daily parking rate at 18.00 . The pros were the breakfast served the next day. Fresh coffee, great service and ample portions. Unfortunately, our stay at voco Hotel was a very disappointing experience. The toilet in our room flooded and remained unusable for the entire night. When we brought the issue to their attention, instead of resolving it, we were told that there was a restroom on the third floor that we could use. That is not an acceptable solution when you are paying to stay in a hotel room with a functioning bathroom. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was when an employee came to our room to bring extra towels. While handing us the towels, the employee appeared to look around inside our room, which felt intrusive and made us uncomfortable. We were already dealing with a major issue in the room, and the last thing we expected was to feel like our privacy was not being respected. Overall, between having a flooded toilet all night, being told to use a public restroom on another floor, and the uncomfortable interaction with staff, this was a very disappointing stay. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves both their response to maintenance problems and their respect for guest privacy. read more

The hotel is nice and pretty inside. The staff seem very nice and accommodating. One of my biggest turn offs was that there is an ice machine on the first floor, but not on the floor I'm staying on?? I had to go out in my pajamas for ice. Walls are very thin and you can hear everything from people talking/screaming to doors slamming. I see a sign for earplugs in the restroom but where are they? The bathroom door is broken/doesn't close all the way and just swings? The bed is comfortable and spacious for two! Yay for that. I likely wouldn't stay here again. I booked for 4th of July Weekend, Hot Mess... 1) There was a spec of feces on the toilet roll. Roomkeeping exchanged us a new roll 2) When came back the area by A/C was wet carpet 3) Was assigned a new room. It smelled like Urine upon when opening... 4) 3rd new room was a bit hot, but doable. I was only offered a 20% discount on entire booking. I later negotiated to a 1 day comp for the 2 days via Hotels.com ... The parking fee was later wavered I guess. Hotels.com said they couldnt get a hold of Hotel so I had to call and loop in Manager in a separate email... I still haven't received my $100 security deposit from 4th of July booking and it's now July 26th. Front desk/Manager said it was 3-7 days to reflect onto my account and then later on it'll take awhile since it was a debit card not a credit card // no specific ETA on when it'd be back in my account. Being that I am an ihg platinum member, I expected better. For one, when the receptionist showed me my reservations on the screen, it showed thst I was booked for room 409. He put me in 222. After seeing how small 222 was, I went back wanting to know why my room was changed and was switched back to 409. They have a "quiet hours" sign, but the hotel is next to a freeway. I live over two hours away from my job in Irvine, and called myself getting a room that's close so that I could go straight there after work and sleep a full 8 hours. I had it all wrong when I chose that hotel. No microwave in the room. They have a bar with food and I believe that's why there's no microwave. It's forcing you to buy from them if you want a hot meal. What if you wake up hungry in the middle of the night? What if your baby wakes up hungry? You're giving them cold food. Coffee machine was powered off from the outlet. I spent a good 20 mins trying to turn it on. I pulled the drawer it's on all the way out, got on my knees and searched for the power cord. Smh. Ended up going to the bar for a cup of hot water. Standing at the bar that's filled with people in business and casual attire and I had on pajamas. ​​ This is NOT a "family friendly" hotel. It is NOT a place to go to for sleep. The 5 star reviews were wother bought, a promise was made, or the person was there for a business meeting. And did not stay overnight. I would never suggest this hotel to anyone. Edited: The manager read my review and responded by saying all rooms are the same size and have the same amenities. Thats a lie. The first room I was in was VERY small. I have no reason to lie about this place. No microwave. Please explain why there is no microwave in the room. Please explain why the coffee maker was powered off from the outlet. Better yet, why was there a "powerdered" handprint on the door whwrw you flip the metal bar to additionally lock the door? Big man's handprint that you can't help but to see. Put microwaves in the rooms. Add noise proof windows. Why would you put a platinum member in a room next to the freeway? I booked my room a week or two in advance. Now if you respond with lies, I will go on every social media platform and any other online atmosphere and leave this same review. Your hotel is basic. Staying here for a couple days on business. The hotel is located conveniently off the freeway and it has a really nice aesthetic at first glance. The front desk staff that checked me in was very friendly. The rooms are spacious and have a modern appearance. I enjoy the complimentary WiFi and the convenience of being able to cast the shows I'd like to watch from the streaming apps on my phone to their TV. We pay an extra amenities fee, which includes the two complimentary bottles of water, etc. There was no water in this room upon my arrival and no water in the cooler downstairs. When inquiring about how to obtain water, I was in turn asked whether I'd brought my own reusable bottle to be used at their filling station... Like, why should I have to? I'm resourceful so I just ended up DoorDashing a bottle of water to myself along with my takeout order. The reason why I won't stay here, and won't recommend anyone else to either is because the housekeepers aren't thorough with their cleaning. I just checked in today and found multiple hairs in the bed that didn't come from my head. They make the beds, but clearly don't wash the sheets and comforters between guest stays, or at least don't do so as often and consistently as they should. This hotel is just okay. I stayed here with my gf to escape the fires in LA. The pros: Great location Cheap rate The cons: No tampons or Tylenol -- even tho the bathroom says "we got you covered" and even specifically says that they have women's hygiene products for free. See pictures. We called the front desk three times to confirm this & they were like "we can't just give you anything for free" and they didn't even have these things for purchase either. See the sign in my pictures. This was in our hotel room bathroom. There is no Gym -- said they had one on the website We picked 1 standard bed when booking -- was giving a double queen room. The Elevators and decor felt old, and our floor smelled weird. The toilet water pressure was abysmal. Clogged after regular use the first day. Stayed here for a week recently. Rooms were mediocre at best. Bathroom had a door that didn't lock. The silicone seal for the vanity and shower had black mold on it. Blanket had an old blood stain on it. Saw two live cockroaches climbing the curtain while I was eating in their restaurant for breakfast which by the way was terrible for 20 bucks. They will also hound you for your room number just to get a cup of coffee which should be complimentary and is in every hotel I've stayed in. Accidentally left some clothing in the closet in my room after I checked out and called them over 6 times to ask if they found it, I never received a callback even though they said they would. I had to call them back over and over again. I honestly think someone kept it and never left it with Lost and Found. I'll never stay here again. I will also be letting my kid's team manager to never book at this place again for week long tournaments. Don't let the front lobby appearance fool you into thinking the rooms are nice. Book elsewhere or you'll regret staying here. Lots of better options especially for $200 a night. The one positive thing I have to say is one front counter male employee was very polite. This place is overpriced for what you get. This app won't let me give it 0 stars so I guess I'll give it one for that one polite employee. read more

This is the second time I've stayed here in four months for business-never again. It's a circus. The toilet backed up immediately after check in and I was told they were sold out and could not provide a different room. Both times other guests were allowed to be unruly, rowdy and ridiculously badly behaved and the staff does nothing. It's impossible to sleep at this hotel. Whether you are on the first floor or any other floor you can hear whatever is going on at the pool, doors slamming, people are literally screaming down the halls at all hours and the staff does absolutely nothing. I can say that the restarant staff is very friendly and professional and provides excellent service but I will never step foot in this hotel again. read more

Stayed here because our daughter was in a near by soccer tournament. Before we came I contacted the place and asked if they had gluten free options since i have celiac disease. "Rex" said they had GF options. But the first night there we stopped in to eat, waiter took FOREVER to come over and we were literally the only people in the "restaurant". Then the man didn't speak clear English, so he didn't understand me asking for gluten free. So we left to go eat. Rex assured me to look at the QR code for options and talk to staff, and then for breakfast, once again, they took FOREVER to take our order, and the waitress said they have no gluten free options. Waist of my time. I don't understand why I was told there were options if there weren't. Also, our kids went to the pool and the water was murky and gross, the pool is super small, their towels are super small, they ran out of towels at the pool, their trash cans were over flowing by the pool as well. The hotel is next to the freeway and it's so loud at night. The air conditioner makes a weird scraping noise. There were ants in the bathroom and on the air conditioner. Beds are small. A beautiful event venue in the heart of Orange County! Holding our non profit organization's most recent event - valentine dinner party was the greatest experience. Working in full collaboration with Tessa the manager made the whole experience so easy and stress free. The VOCO team was so accommodating and offered every kind of help possible, making us feel the event was for all of us including the hotel staff. While the hotel has a cool sixties vibe, and is fairly clean, the place needs updates. The hallway carpet is coming up and wrinkled. A major trip hazard. The room furniture looks old and the one lounge chair is dirty. This was the same condition in another room we were in. The front desk folks on the evening shift were not very help. My brother in law booked his room two months prior and they couldn't find his reservation. He had to spend 45 min haggling with the front desk after a six hour flight instead of just getting him room and settling the matter the next day. read more

We were given a room on the only floor that is being rehabbed. My issue was that we were not informed that a rehab was going on and woke to construction noise. Plus our room was definitely not rehabbed. Carpeting leading to the room was stretched, creating major tripping issues. Inside our room, the carpeting was frayed, wallpaper peeling and sink stopper rusty in the bathroom. Mascara on the full length mirror and someone's q-tip on the door by the nightstand. The pool water was extremely cloud with floating insects showing that their pool filter is also in need of attention. They charge a facility fee which offers nothing that other hotels offer for free. Bottom line is that this hotel is promoted as being high end but they certainly didn't live up to that on our visit! read more
