From the valet parking crew, to the spa treatments (sauna/cold plunge and body wrap) everything was just great. After, treated myself to lunch at the bar. I felt so welcomed here from the moment we arrived. The valet parking was easy and the staff was incredibly attentive. The service was amazing the entire time we were there. We originally sat inside, but asked to move outside because the view was just too beautiful to pass up. The green mountains made it feel like we were on vacation somewhere tucked away in the mountains. I ordered the burger and it was absolutely delicious -- thick, juicy patty with super yummy fries. They had a good selection of food. They also had an a restaurant on site called the Harvest, but we chose to stay outside on the porch because they had live music and an epic view of the golf course nestled in the canyon.. Our wine was delicious. We did order a pretzel. The pretzel was OK. I visited The Harvest on a Friday early evening to celebrate my graduation with my family. The employees were so friendly & accommodating--I really appreciated how informative they were in explaining the background & ingredients of each dish. They also kindly wrote me a letter congratulating me on my graduation, which was such a thoughtful touch. We ordered the pull-apart milk bread, crispy duck drummettes, & crispy octopus to share with the table. My sister & I split the pan-roasted scallops, which they plated separately for our convenience & even added an extra scallop. I also had bites of my mom's seared bluefin tuna & my dad's grilled pork chop. Everything was absolutely delectable. Our server was attentive in asking for our thoughts on the dishes, sharing that they're still fine-tuning their new summer menu since it rotates seasonally. One of the employees even directed us to a gorgeous spot to take a group photo at the end of our meal. The Harvest has easily become one of my favorite restaurants in Laguna Beach, & my family loved it so much that we've already made a reservation to celebrate my mom's birthday there next month. Nestled in the mountain by the golf course, the ranch is a beautiful tranquil restaurant. I like that we could sit there and enjoy food without huge rush of people and it's quiet for a nice brunch. Service was ok, it's also because it was by the golf course, even servers feel quite relaxed it took abit of time to flag down our server. Food was quite good, oysters were really fresh. The one thing I didn't care for was the ceviche, the flavor was very much on the sour side and not very good. But our drinks (Bloody Mary) was nice, sandwich was also tasty. read more

Not certain it was real. The view from the clubhouse and the wedding on the lawn of the first hole made me think we stepped into a Jurassic Park movie set. The entire view from left to right was untouched canyon walls to make you feel you've stepped back in time. Wow. Food - I ordered the filet mignon which was excellent despite nearly 200 wedding guests all getting theirs at the exact same moment, how do they pull that off? No idea. But it wasn't the best thing on the menu, somehow the potato leak soup was better ? I struggle to admit that, but there you have it. Wine selection excellent, but we are in California, so I suppose that's normal. Beer selection poor, but we are in California, so I suppose that's normal. Hey you don't order sushi when you are cattle ranching in Montana, you don't order steak in the Maldives, so stick with the local wine. After you turn into The Ranch from PCH, you go up the hill a little bit and then hit a fork, turn toward the Ranch, there is valet and the Harvest restaurant is a couple steps away from valet. When you walk into the restaurant, go past the hotel check in desk and go to the host stand. The hostesses weren't in the best mood but we were able to sit outside. Do sit outside, inside got super crowded and loud with big groups and kids running around. Outside is quiet and peaceful with great views. Went here for brunch with a group and we all ordered different food and we all agreed it was delicious! We ordered the grilled peaches appetizer, churro French toast, breakfast burrito, burger, and soup, matcha, iced coffee and everything was 10/10 I highly recommend going here! read more

Just left The Ranch at Laguna Beach after 3 busy work days that felt like a weekend. And honestly, it's one of the first times I've been disappointed to leave a hotel. The service here is beyond top notch, and if you think otherwise, it's probably a reflection of you. Came in for a work conference expecting the usual corporate purgatory: bad coffee, worse lighting, and conversations that feel like hostage situations. Instead, this place somehow makes productivity feel... attractive. Like you actually want to pay attention. It's unsettling. I think Chris is the manager. If he wasn't he should be. Clearly the guy behind the curtain pulling strings in a way that doesn't feel like strings are being pulled. Everything just works. Smooth, intentional, no unnecessary friction. Kinda like someone finally figured out adults don't need more structure, just better structure. Sage at reception? Absolute rockstar. I had questions, requests, probably a little chaos and she handled all of it like it was the easiest part of her day. Never rushed, never annoyed, just quietly on top of everything. The kind of person who makes you feel like you're not asking for too much, even when you know that you are. Colby at the bar is the reason I'm currently debating if I need to reevaluate my relationship with alcohol. Not because I drank too much but because the drinks were that good. Guy doesn't just pour, he orchestrates. Exactly what you need after a day of masquerading as serious professional. And Matt somehow makes service feel like a conversation you actually want to be in. Effortless, dialed in, never hovering but never missing a beat. It's a talent. Whole place sits in this canyon like it's hiding from the world yet reminding you how cool it is to be alive. You get work done happily, you breathe a little, you remember you're not just a walking email thread. Anyway. 5 stars. Lovely hotel. The rooms are more like a private condo. Mini bar, dining table and a full living room, then two bedrooms and a full bathroom. This was the perfect set up for our family of four. The breakfast at Harvest each morning was delicious and there were so many options to pick from. The daily events were also a nice touch. We took the farm tour with Leo and learned so much. He said it's because we're celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were stunned as we entered our cottage. Very spacious 2 story. Dinner at the Harvest was simply delicious. Scott who waited our table, knew the menu well, he was great and lighthearted. We loved our farm tour. Fun and educational. We got to meet and chat with Ryan the expert gardener. I recently stayed at The Ranch Laguna and the service was absolutely amazing. Sage checked me in and she was so kind, helpful, and welcoming. I absolutely adored her. Katya also helped me a lot and was so sweet and informative. Greg was my main personal driver and he went above and beyond with incredible kindness, great recommendations, excellent communication, and a wonderful attitude. One night I had Ricky as a driver and he was just as amazing even though I didn't get to see him as often. The entire staff was incredible. There was a man at the front desk, I think his name was Garrett, who was so kind to me, especially for my birthday. Andrea, the cleaning lady, was sweet and thorough and another male staff member who cleaned rooms was always smiling and welcoming. My water was always available and they even made me a beautiful dessert with champagne for my birthday which I truly appreciated. The dark chocolate with sea salt bedside were fantastic. I highly recommend the farm tour and McKenna, I think that was her name, was absolutely delightful, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what she does. The daily live music was wonderful, the musicians were talented and added such a relaxing vibe to the resort. Staying in the Creek Room was lovely. I got to see ducks in the creek and it was conveniently close to the lobby. The walk was nice sometimes though golf carts were available. The only minor thing was hearing a little noise from neighbors, but it really wasn't a big deal. I also asked for a late checkout when leaving. I had hoped for a 4 PM checkout as an American Express Platinum member, but they were fully booked and couldn't accommodate it. No big deal, now I know I can insist next time. As an American Express Platinum member, I got upgraded which was a lovely touch and they offer a great deal for free breakfast daily. I loved the shower products, the turndown service, and the overall low-key natural vibe of the resort. It was the perfect escape from everyday hustle and bustle. If you're looking for a relaxing, nature-filled experience in Laguna rather than a busy beach scene, this is the spot. Our primary server, Scott, was incredibly efficient at making sure every aspect of our experience was exceptional and he was ably assisted by Yahir. The cocktails were great and there's a nice selection of beers, wines, and liquors. I was sad that they no longer offer any porter or stout beers. The food menu is limited, but the items they did offer were very tasty. Our group particularly enjoyed the crispy Brussel sprouts, flatbread pizza, shrimp cocktails, and two great desserts: Basque cheesecake & freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. I booked a fire pit on the porch at The Ranch at Laguna Beach for my partner's birthday. There is a $200 deposit but that money is taken off of your bill. The Fire Pits work best for large parties up to 10 people max. Our server Scott was so attentive and really took care of all of our needs. The menu is somewhat limited but we ordered a number of items and passed them around. Honestly, everything that we ate was delicious. The Fire Pits overlook the golf course and Aliso Canyon where it is common to see deer grazing on the grass at dawn and dusk. There is also live music on the porch every day from 4-8 p.m. It is a magical place that you should definitely experience. read more
