Hired for water damage remediation/clean up. Below average experience based on price, left behind a dirty job site (did not protect surrounding areas during demolition work and did not remove the mess that resulted from the demolition), damaged my wood floors that were not affected by the water damage even after I made a specific point to tell them to protect these floors and to be careful with equipment. Photos showing damaged wood floors that appear to be from dropping an item(s) heavy enough to break the top surface of the solid wood planks. These are solid oak wood planks, not engineered. Voda was the only contractor in the house working upstairs (the damaged wood flooring is on the steps) and the only contractor with heavy equipment. They also had large fans and dehumidifiers upstairs and there are black marks on my steps (photos) that look like what would be caused by wheels/tires of the large dehumidifiers they had to move upstairs. Since they did not cover the stairs the hardwood steps were exposed to the drywall debris during the demolition. Hence, the steps and foyer are filthy with caked on drywall plaster and dust. Same goes for the garage floor - they removed parts of the garage ceiling that was water damaged but did not cover the floor so the garage floor is filthy. They left so much drywall dust behind that when you walk into the house and garage and come outside, you track white shoeprints onto the black top driveway. This is not an acceptable standard in my opinion for cleaning up after a demo job. For the premium price of their services, I would expect more care and respect to be shown for the parts of my property that were not affected by water damage and that they knew would not be removed. They also lost or threw out hardware for the ceiling pendant lights when they took them down during the removal of the water damaged sections of the ceiling. read more

The whole house needed to be treated for a serious mold issue. As far as we can tell, workers (Kevin & Jose) did a thorough job with the remediation, & were especially helpful with putting furniture back. They went "above & beyond" by wrestling a closet clothing rack back into place. Supervisor Joe in the office was particularly easy to deal with, being very sympathetic to our concerns & patiently answering our many questions. The cost was high, but considering the amount of work to be done, seems fair. One caveat--the instructions about keeping your valuables/treasures with you are serious. We lost an entire box of Christmas ornaments to the purge; ornaments collected & treasured for decades are gone, especially disappointing since Christmas decorations were the one thing I had asked to be spared. Since we were asked to leave the house while the work was being done, & all our furniture & belongings were piled into the center of each room, then covered with a tarp, the loss was not discovered until too late. I assume the cardboard box itself had developed some mold, but doubt every ornament inside was unsalvageable--it was only 2 1/2 months after Christmas & no mold had been visible then. I would have appreciated a chance to sort through the box. read more

outrageous price ($9,000) and other additional and costly requirements (paying a plumber and electrician, etc. to remove and then reinstall after treatment) .. also required that i have lead and asbestos testing done at my cost (another $400 -500 or more) .... i had the work done by a certified company for a third of the price and they did not require removing equipment (water heater and hvac air handler) and when i provided proof that the garage was turned into a room with the construction of ceiling and walls in the 1990s (confirmed with the previous owner) , they were satisfied that there was no asbestos present. for an additional $850, i had the entire ceiling and walls removed to ensure that we had a total cleaning and still, the price was about a third of the bottom line cost of voda. this appears to me to be taking advantage of a situation where people are at the mercy of this and similar companies, i am thinking about reporting this company to the VA consumer protection agency... read more

Our school had a waterline break a week before school started. We called Voda Cleaning and Restoration and they were out within a few hours and immediately began cleaning up the mess. We had DNA Pro come into our home to do a thorough cleaning of floors before we moved in. It was really just okay. The carpeting in our home was only 5 years old and because of the age, we were confident that a thorough, deep cleaning would suffice and prevent us from needing to replace the carpet. Two bedrooms, two stairways and a very small hall area was $250. The wood flooring was $0.50/sqft for "cleaning and polishing" which added up to another $300. The biggest waste of money in my opinion was the wood floor cleaning. We had a maid service come through the day before and they did a basic mop. They did as good of a job as DNA Pro for 1/3 of the price. I couldn't even tell a difference on the before vs. after. I was hoping some of the spots on the floor would come up after DNA Pro came through but didn't really happen. Maybe The carpeting also was somewhat disappointing. It definitely felt cleaner than it was, but I was hoping for more of a transformation. I looked at it when the cleaning was done, and the guy probably saw the disappointment on my face. He was kind of apologetic and said "Maybe these haven't been cleaned before, everytime you clean them it'll get better, the carpet is in good shape." I even paid the extra $65 surcharge for the deep cleaning solution on the stairs which feels like a sham. I will say the biggest thing is that the prior owners had a pet, and the cleaned carpet got all of the pet smell out. I am giving 3 stars just because I feel like if I did it again, I wouldn't do the wood floors. That felt like a total waste of money, just have a maid service clean it. Blaine then set up an appointment to get to working on remediation and tearing the carpet out the following day (Tuesday) at 9 am. At 9:30 the next morning, i called Blaine and asked if something happened, he said there was an emergency that would take a few days, and that i'd be on the schedule for Friday. I said I understood, emergencies come up, but today (Friday), again voda was a no call, no show. I could've used that time to find someone else. Out of all the stresses that come with home ownership having a sewage backup is the most horrible thing you can go through, especially right after the holidays. I have used DNA pro cleaning and services twice now. First time was for an apartment where they did an excellent job. I was really happy with the result. I called them again when i moved to a house and this time around they did a poor job. They cleaned carpets in 3 rooms. One of the rooms had bad pet stains from the previous owner. I chose to do a deep extraction of those areas. After the cleaning was finished, the areas where they applied the treatment looked darker than others. Obviously that was a concern I brought up to the cleaner. He said that it's normal and that it would go away once the carpet dries. I said ok, paid and waited till it was dry ( he recommended 8-10 hrs ). I checked after 12 and patches are still there. Just for the heck of it, I waited 24 hrs .. still there. I was extremely disappointed with what happened. My living room had 6 large dark spots on the carpet ( much much larger than any blemish that was there before the cleaning ) I called them again and after some explaination and sending pictures, they came back in a few days for a follow up appointment and cleaned it again. The spots did go away ( they said that they didn't extract their cleaning material properly last time ). But by then I was so revolted by the state of the carpet that I simply decided to redo the flooring. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

Assuming it was a professional cleaning company I was not there for the estimate and cleaning as I was traveling. Yea, that was big mistake!! When I got back after the cleaning, this is what happened 1. The outside sidewalk was being presser washed to still have stains on it in the middle, the owner told me we can't get that off, when we clearly see other parts were able to come off! It's a power washer for God sake! 2. They never vacuumed the house first, they started cleaning the floors with out vacuuming and cleaning up the house. yet again the owner told me "it was in a much worse condition"! Seriously! .... of course it was, that's why I hired professional cleaning. Did not expect that answer at all!!! 3. All floors were done veryyyy poorly, the ceramic tile was barely cleaned with dirt still all over it. I scrubbed wet paper towel in front of the owner to show him, it was dirty and black like it was never cleaned. this is when I understood he does not care since they already got paid. And he directs the topic to another place as if what I showed him did not exist. (Look at the pictures) 4. I was charged for Spot treatment and again was told we don't remove stains, why was I charged for spot treatment and premium carpet cleaning fee? Yea, they are looking for a quick buck and not a reputation. 5. Was charged for polish on the hardwood floor. The worst case it was in after the wash. It was ashy! And he told me we need a different type of polish! Why did you charge me for a polish then?! Again To my surprise "we do other type of polish to being the natural shine" lol. WHat shine!!! It's ashy Disappointed to assume a cleaning professional company will use an advantage of me not being there to ruin there reputation! Just sad to see a very expensive lesson had to be this! I manage about 25 rental units in the area and have used many different carpet cleaners. I was skeptical when Mike and his partner showed up and didn't have one of those vans with built in steam cleaner, but he promised me they steam clean as well, just with a mobile unit. 3 bedroom condo has many problem areas from pet stains. Previous cleaners cleaned, but the stains would show up a few weeks later. These guys thoroughly soaked and cleaned the stains. Their base price was the same as other cleaners, but took a chance and paid extra for the stains. The condo looks fantastic and the stains have not resurfaced a week later. They took about 3.5 hours to clean the condo whereas others were done within 90 minutes. I guess you sometimes get what you pay for. I would definitely recommend these guys. The technician was very professional and he covered all the wall corners so the hose will not scratch the corners. DNA Pro Cleaning was easy to schedule and they arrived on time. The tech took me around the house with a blue light flashlight and showed me areas all over our carpet that had stains, most likely from our dog. I was so grossed out I included the spot treatment everywhere, in addition to the regular cleaning and the scotch guard. What the tech didn't tell me is that the cleaning would not remove the stain from the blue light flashlight, so it was possible these stain were already cleaned when I had my carpets cleaned 2 years prior. Had I'd known this information, I would have selected fewer rooms to spot clean. Additionally, we had an area rug cleaned and was brought back with stains not removed. We were told only upon delivery that because the rug was natural fibers, the stains would not be able to be removed. Had we'd known this information, I would not have spent the over $500 to have it cleaned. I do not believe this company was honest in their delivery of services and the whole blue light presentation was not communicated well. The carpets are cleaned, but there was a lot of money that I would not have spent on upgrades had this company been more transparent. read more
