This was my first 2026 new restaurant (and yeah I'm behind in reviewing). I'm an out of towner and was here for work. Reservation for 8. Decently appointed interior, they have a patio for warmer months. I want to say, the absolute star here is the hospitality. And let me be clear - hospitality, not service. We were so well taken care of by the staff and it was done with personality. I get the opportunity to try food all across the country (and world) and I'd put these guys up in the top 10% of memorable experiences from a people standpoint. Food was great, no complaints. Came with some friends to celebrate a birthday and was quite impressed with our first dining experience at Volare Ristorante. Volare is a moderately upscale Italian centric restaurant with a nice menu that covers most of the main dishes when you think of Italian cuisine. For our first meal here we ended up getting the Chicken Marsala and Beef Ravioli entree's. Both dishes were well prepared and very tasty where the Ravioli was definately my favorite with its tasty cream sauce taking this dish to the next level. Relative to fthe acility and staff, The restaurant itself is quite comfortable and has an upscale feel to it. The Wait Staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable about their menu where their apron uniform comes across as a classy establishment all at a moderate price level by today's standards for more upscale cuisine. Overall, we had a great time where this restaurant was hitting on cylinders in my opinion. We will definitely will be returning in the near future to further sample the other items on their menu read more

Nice dinner on a busy Friday night. Service was excellent, the waiter seemed to genuinely enjoy his job, he really made us feel welcomed and taken care of. The food was good - first impression was the bread basket wasn't the bread many had pictured on Yelp previously, it was sliced artisan bread instead of puffy. Still good, the oil was delish. We also started off with the tuna crudo (pepper encrusted ahi tuna with avocado and arugula) which was excellent. Salad that came with our entrees fresh, the dressing was so good. Lastly, we had pollo piccata and rigatoni. The piccata was SO good, a lot like the one I make at home but leveled up and delicious. My partner (who's not a frequent pasta eater) also enjoyed his generous portion of rigatoni and the meat sauce. read more

Came here for a dinner 1 night while we were at the Suburban Collection for a trade show. It was very crowded. We had a reservation. They were waiting for us so we got seated right away. Place is very nice with autographed pictures of Italian movies on the wall very fun. The patio looked very nice as well. The menu had a lot on it. It was hard to choose. Plus I want really looking to take anything back to the hotel. And the portions were generous. Price points were in the $20+ dollar range for most all dinners. I chose the margarita pizza. So if I take it to the hotel I can still eat it. Which I did. The pizza was good. Could have been a bit crispier but it was good. Looked Ike it was made fresh and the dough was fresh. Everyone else got a bit of everything else. Steak, pasta, salad, scallops, halibut. Everyone enjoyed their dinners. And the portions were large. Here is the issue. Service was very slow. We were there about 2.5 hours. It was a long stay. It took a long time for drinks. And no one asked me if I wanted another one. The server was trying to juggle our very large table. He tried. But the drinks, ordering, them, receiving dinner was very slow. As well as trying to get to pay and leave. It was a process. Not sure they can handle parties with 15 people well. Bottom line food was good. Ambiance was nice. Service was very slow. Price was expensive. Probably a birthday or special occasion type restaurant. read more

Anniversary dinner started with fabulous service and a warm welcome. Moved onto the sausage and peppers appetizer (highly recommend) with a just right spicy sauce. The Veal Marsala was perfection and the broccolini perfectly cooked - not bitter. My hubby had the king salmon and gnocchi which is literally the marriage of his two faves. This is my favorite moderately priced Italian restaurant near my home. The restaurant is well located in downtown Wixom and has plenty of parking. The service is excellent with both attentive servers and bus personnel. The portions are large and everything I've ordered has been excellent. On this occasion I had chicken parmesan. All entrees come with a dinner salad (no iceberg lettuce to be found). The portion was huge -- 2 breaded chicken breasts with sauce and cheese -- and broccolini sautéed with garlic. The dish was outstanding. For both the little people and seniors who don't each much, there is a side portion of pasta with bolognese which is the perfect size. Most entrees are under $30. I highly recommend Volare. read more

We've been going to this restaurant for the past several years. Something has changed. It used to be you could get a filet cooked "perfectly". The past 2 times we've gone (and yes, the last time we went was not good but we gave it another chance ) but after this visit , no more. Ordered a filet cooked medium rare and I tried to cut into it and it was tough. The outer edges were well done and the center was raw They took it from me to fix it and they brought the same steak back out and it was totally over done Super disappointed. It's real a testament to how tasty the food is here. Everything was delicious. Yes I will go back. The steak was tender and a excellent grade of beef. When I heated my leftovers the next day the steak was still tender. The flavor amazing and the zip sauce. Muah The garlic mash potatoes was perfect. The right consistency creamy but chunky. I add no butter or salt. The veggies were fresh and delicious . The fried bread stole the show The chocolate cake was beyond decadent. My coworker highly recommended this restaurant so I decided to take my husband here for his birthday. We live about 45 minutes away. We ordered calamari, salmon pasta, and he ordered a chicken dish. Everything just tasted super bland and the service was just ok. It was busy that night so we didn't get our waters refilled nor did anyone really talk to us/check on us besides to take our order. Our drinks were good but that's about it. Wouldn't drive 45 minutes again to come out here.. but if we are in the area, maybe we will give it another chance and try the other items on the menu. read more

Volare was a cute destination in downtown Wixom. We had a nice dinner on the patio. Food was good but slightly overpriced. I opted for the halibut piccata (chicken and veal also offered). The best part of the meal was our burrata with prosciutto appetizer but I've had better burrata. Wine selection was ok. Service was decent. Very nice location with parking, cool ambience, and even an indoor/outdoor seating for nice warm nights. Classy picture on the wall when you walk in with characters from the Sopranos/Godfather/Casino. The food was good, Ordered the VEAL part. $35 and a very generous amount of meat. However it didn't come with any pasta so you had to order it separately on the side for $10. What a wonderful restaurant. Gino is an excellent waiter. Very professional, always available and accommodating yet never intrusive. I ordered the double cut Veal Chop from the specials menu. Hands down the best chop I ever ate. The broccolini, fingerling potatoes and wild mushrooms accompanied by a heavenly zip sauce were perfect choices to bring together a smokey wood grilled, medium rare, chop to a savory masterpiece. Very lovely interior decor. Seating is limited way smaller than restaurant appears from outside. There is outdoor heating seating though. I'm a vegetarian, but my whole party I went with is not. Bread the brought to the tables was severely lacking(could be an off day but I wouldn't bother with the calories),it was over cooked very dry. Appetizers ordered for table were calamari, scallops, and eggplant. I thought the eggplant was great,for the most part it was not mushy like some eggplant can be, and ALL other people's with me that "hate/dislike" eggplant said it was very good. THEY LOVED the scallops, and said the calamari was just as good. I always have to try the caprese at any restaurant...the tomatoes we awful and mealy, maybe it was the time of the year but they might need a different produce supplier or adjust their delivery dates. I also had I think it was the NY salad with no meat and it was basic nothing special dressing was lacking. Others at the table also got a house salad with their meals and they said it was more than boring almost no flavor. I can't speak for their main meals because they said nothing good or bad about the main. read more

Went for drinks and apps after movie night with friends. We've not been here in years but at our friends suggestion we decided to go. You have to make reservations because this place is always hopping! My husband and our friend had the NYC salad. It is huge and so delicious. The sausage and peppers were also very delicious. The pepperoni pizza was cheesy and the crust, not to thin and not too much, just like Goldielocks and the Three Bears, just right. Also very delicious. It's a bit pricy but worth it. We used to love this restaurant, but the past few times we've went, the service and experience has been terrible. Tonight's lack luster experience prompted me to write this review. Nothing went well from the start. We were seated immediately, but things fell short from that point on. Adam was our waiter and I use that title loosely. He did not wait on us until about ten minutes after we arrived. He arrived to our table with an almost empty water container and had to leave us almost immediately so he could refill it. As he left we noticed my husband's glass was dirty and had lip prints around the rim. This was only a peek into what was to come. Adam took our drink order and promised us bread within a few minutes. So much time passed that I took it upon myself to go find the bread from the hostess. We ordered our food and a second glass of wine. My husband was brought the wrong wine. We had to wait for Adam to return with our food to let him know. When Adam brought our food my husband's food was not the correct order. He and Adam even had a conversation about how to pronounce the item when he ordered. Adam was going to bring my entree back for me to eat while Tom waited for his food. My meal was a $55 filet and I was not about to eat this expensive meal with my husband not having his as well. Our food came and was actually cooked perfectly, which was a pleasant surprise after the service we had experienced. Not once did Adam apologize or try to comp anything, which I couldn't care less about, but the thought and acknowledgement would have been nice. The couple next to us couldn't believe our terrible service either and were also shocked at how it was completely ignored that our night was such a mess. When we got our bill I was also shocked to see that we had a $2.00 up charge for change of dressing. What an unbelievable up charge! You can't even choose your own dressing at this place. We don't plan on going back to Volare. We once loved going here, but the disappointment from tonight made the decision for us. First time at this restaurant. Had 7:00 pm reservations, showed up on time, and was not seated until 8:05 pm. When we showed up another couple was waiting with 6:30 pm reservations and was not seated until after 7:30 pm. Hostesses claimed it was the holiday season and people were staying longer than expected. I was given the same excuse by two managers. The truth from a server was that the owner let several tables of friends jump the reservations because it was the holiday. No attempt made to offer a free drink, appetizer or otherwise for the long wait. Attitude was "too bad, so sad, it's the holidays". On the other hand, the food was very good and the service was good. Value for dollar was above average for the food. The liquor was on the higher priced side. Won't return simply because of the failure to honor the reservation system. read more

What a great evening! We enjoyed everything. Focaccia was delicious and indulgent. We had three different pasta dishes - papardelle with veal bolognese, house marinara on rigatoni and pasta with a cream based sauce, peas and prosciutto. The house minestrone was like Nonna's. First and last time coming here... I can pay $50+ for a steak closer to home and with better service. Food was good. Service was poor. Certain non-negotiables for just about any server. I live within walking distance of this fine establishment and I'm so glad I do. I've been here at least 6 times maybe more and EACH and EVERY time I come, they have yet to disappoint me. Their steaks with zip sauce are unreal. The fingerling potatoes are even tasty. The waiters and waitresses are always friendly. The alcoholic drinks are never watered down and will give you a nice buzz. My only suggestion before coming here is to skip out on lunch. The prices are high BUT for a reason.
