Well now I remember why I stopped ordering food from Alex's. It's not the food so much as the service and customer service. I understand that it's very hard to get these days and we take what we can get but come on! I placed a large but simple order with 1 modification. Here was my order 2 Smorgasbords (just the way they come no substitutions), 1 Gnocchi with alfredo sauce and 1 Italian sub (here comes the hard part) NO LETTUCE NO TOMATO. Drove 4.5 miles to pick up my order. Was told by cashier everything was there and ready to go. Paid the 94.00 it cost and drove the 4.5 miles home. To my Suprise my order was wrong. The one and only modification I requested was not made; the sub was loaded with lettuce and tomato (SUPRISE). If this had been the only problem we could have lived with it, but it was not. We also did not receive the Gnocchi. So, I call the store and told the young lady what was wrong, her response was "OH YEAH", well you can have it remade on your next order or we can make it now. I asked for a remake and drove the 4.5 miles back to the store. Now I am not sure how you package the Gnocchi, but it was in a quart soup container 2/3 full and the bread was tossed in a bag, the sub was right this time but looked like it was just thrown in the bun. I had people at home waiting for food, so I took it and drove the 4.5 miles home. There was no I am sorry, or it won't happen again, just I'm done with you attitude and a mean look. I have always Loved Alex's food ever sense it was on Pontiac Trail and Welsh. I am sorry to say I am done, and this will be reposted on Facebook, yelp and google. read more

Improvements that could be made include: food, service and hospitality. Allow me to elaborate, we walk in not even a greeting mind you we made eye contact the entire time as we walk up to the lady (older,white) tell her what we want, we expressed that we wanted pineapple pizza before walking up to the register noticed it wasn't there and asked again politely for a slice of pineapple pizza, while we pay for the pizza we have to constantly keep giving her back our phone due to her turning it off mid transaction, no biggy, we get home and I am staring at a what I can only assume is Chicken Alfredo pizza? Yea definitely not a fan, pasta that we bought taste sweet like when they have no salt or seasoning. Only thing that was decent was the bread I can only pray for the cheesecake in the fridge. I have been going to Alex's for awhile now. When I first started going the food was good. But unfortunately over the last few months The food hasn't been good,or my order has been wrong . The first time it happened I overlooked it, everyone has a bad night. So I decided to try the fish and chips, because the last time I had chicken and it was so dry I had to throw it away. Well the fish and chips were horrible, the fish was old, like it had been cooked and then recooked . The fry's were cold. I hate giving this review, but money is tight these days and when I pay good money and get such a bad meal it makes me angry. I always choose the local businesses over the fast food chains, but I will not be going back to Alex's any time soon , if ever. Very disappointed with every aspect of this restaurant from the staff right down to the food. We never complain when we go out because we are very easy-going, but when you sit for 35 minutes wondering where your waitress and food are you start to think why are people who came in a half an hour after us being served. This place is not bad at all but there could be SLIGHT improvements for it to be better. The toppings are excellent, high quality and they DONT SKIMP. The sauce and dough are definitely house made. I WOULD get this again however, this bottom crust was a bit soggy. It was still delicious don't get me wrong, I just personally like more of a CRUUUUNCH. Definitely hits the perfect price range...EXCELLENT VALUE FOR WHAT YOU PAY (10.99 14" Thursday special) They have a huge menu and I will definitely be coming back to try it all. Note: This review is based on my takeout experiences only, haven't dined in yet. The first time I had Alex's, a coworker bought it for me because she's a really nice person. I ordered the meat ravioli. It came in a giant quart takeout tub, and I lost count on how many well-stuffed raviolis with tomato sauce was it. It also came with a nice healthy chunk of garlic bread and a small cup of Parmesan cheese. For $7.95, you can't beat that. The sauce was thick and the ravioli wasn't overcooked. I just finished my second takeout meal from there. I decided to try something different - gnocchi with meat sauce. It was just as good. The food is very consistent. I saw that they sell pieces of baked chicken, so I'll probably be getting that next time. read more

Stay away from this place it must be going down hill, it is sad when you been around for awhile you forget customer service the rudest person answer the phone, the chicken diner and fries where cold place looks like a dump. First impressions when you walk in will give you an ideal, the not in use restaurant part is storage the glass food cases are empty except for old pizza they are trying to sell. Lack of attention at the front doesn't change in the back either. read more

Matt is the greatest sever ever! (He told me to say that, but to be honest, he was a good server.) Beer was cold. They have M-43 which is my favorite beer. The chicken Alfredo pizza was great. It was like literally eating chicken alfredo and pizza at the same time. I've had alfredo pizzas before where it's like, "inspired," by chicken alfredo, but this was the real deal. I've always loved coming to Alex's to dine in. Food and service has always been amazing. I was hosting a bridal shower and had intended to make all of the food myself. The week of the shower my work schedule unexpectedly changed and I could no longer do it. I called on Tuesday and spoke to Maria who assured me that they could do two trays of pasta (meat and Alfredo) and breadsticks for Saturday no problem. I called Thursday to double check that we were all set and they confirmed everything would be ready by 11am. I picked up everything Saturday and went straight to the shower. Everyone loved the food and there was hardly any leftovers. I'm so glad Alex's was able to help me out under such short notice. If you're in need of good, quality food for an event I highly recommend them! read more

Some of the best pizza in the area. Their pizza is more of a "classic" style in that they don't waste your time with unnecessary ingredients and other modern style recipes. If you want just a simple, delicious, and fresh pizza then this is the place to go. I have only ordered take out from here, so I cannot speak to the dining experience or other menu items. Been here twice since moving to town and satisfied each time I have visited. First visit, got the regular Supreme pizza. It came out hot and was tasty. Second time got the large Meat Lovers Square pizza. Now this one was better! Like a deep dish, very cheesy, piled with meat. Nice to have a pizza joint down the street. Great little place. Service was a bit slow but very nice. They were very accommodating, as I was very picky. I wanted a calzone made with ham, ricotta & mozzarella. They didn't have it on the menu but they made it & made it very well. My friend's order was wrong but she is a very easygoing person & ate what they brought. She said it was very delicious. They have an extensive beverage menu. I had a great gin & tonic. The place looks very "fast food" but it isn't. Everything is handmade. I love the casual environment but would love it more if it had a more ambiance. Lower lighting, Warmer colors, more Tuscan-like decor. Definitely coming back. read more

I want to start off by saying my family and I LOVE the food at Alex's. When we first moved to the area we would come frequently and order carry out. However we are so sad to say the customer service and poor ownership is the reason we can no longer order from this once great establishment. They will fight you tooth and nail and not honor their coupons - CLEARLY printed in their own flyer? and the management staff is rude almost to the point of harassment. I can only imagine how they treat their employees. Will miss the food, but taking my money elsewhere. read more

Really disappointing. Restaurant temperature had to be less than 60 and very uncomfortable. Roasted chicken was clearly old and reheated. Dry and inedible. Potatoes also recooked and burned. Coleslaw old. Told the waiter and he laughed and made eyes at friends sitting at the bar. Fuming at the moment. Have been here many times and quality typically better. read more

Tonight my friend and I went to Alex's pizzeria in downtown Wixom for a long awaited meal. We used to come here quite often because the food is great and after both being out of town for a while we were both excited to return. Once we got there and sat ourselves, we waited at least 15 minutes until my friend had to go ask someone for menus. Once we finally got menus, the table across from us told us they told their server that no one has been to our table, and they told us that no one saw us yet. Once our server greeted us and got our drink orders we were already to order. We order caesar salad and a dozen breadsticks as an appetizer and a small pizza and pasta for our entrees. After about 25 minutes, our pizza came to the table, before our appetizers or plates. We waited at least 5 minutes just to get some plates for the pizza and another 15 minutes for the rest of the food. At this point, we decided we didn't want the salad anymore and we had them cancel the order. By the time all of our food was on the table... the pizza and pasta were cold and we only received 8 of our 12 breadsticks we had ordered. We were checked on maybe 3 times through the whole meal never receiving an apology or explanation as to why the food was taking so long. When we brought all of this to the owners attention, she did not show any empathy. We were still expected to pay for the whole meal. As my friend and I are both waitresses at a highly successful restaurant, we are very aware with the struggles that can come on with waiting on tables. However, we also know what it takes to provide an enjoyable experience when people decide to dine at our restaurant. Honestly, we were happy to wait longer than usual due to the fact that the severs were busy. The food was ok but we expected more as we have received better in the past. Our goal was to not receive a free meal, but when you go out to eat you are not only paying for the food but also the service. And the service was nonexistent tonight. Overall, we were extremely disappointed in our experience tonight and will not be dining in again. read more

The first time I ordered there was last night for carry out. They had a weekly Wednesday special for half off any XL pizza. I believe it was an "Alex Special", which is basically a deluxe pizza. I also got a burger and fries, as well as a couple cookies for my kids. We were not impressed at all. The pizza had almost no cheese and was under cooked. Although it tasted OK, the toppings would completely fall off each slice. Without the special, this pizza would normally cost $21.99. There is no way I would ever pay that much for a pizza like this one. As for the burger, I could tell the burger patty was a processed frozen burger patty. Also, the bun was cold and dry. Would have been much better if it was toasted. Also, I think they added the ketchup under the cheese and then melted the cheese, which made it watery. Finally, the M&M chocolate chip cookie was frozen and had no taste. The consistency was not of a cookie, but of a horrible piece of cake. We ordered at about 7:30 for a late dinner. If it wasn't so late and my family wasn't so hungry, I would have definitely taken the food back for a full refund. read more

Was really disappointed the perch dinner wasn't fresh water perch. Ocean perch taste like crap and cost about 1/3 the price at any market that sells fish. Server acted like she didn't know there was a difference between the two. Stuffed mushrooms are cooked better at Burger King. For $30 I wasn't expecting anything non-fresh. Everything felt like it came from the freezer isle at Meijer. Next time I will just go to Panera bread. read more
