We ordered The Titanic tonight, it's a regular for us, as it offers a nice variety and is/was a good value. Though we used to love it, I've come to write a review because the quality has gone downhill over the past few years, and tonight the quality was poor enough that we aren't sure that we will order it again. The temperature of the sushi and sashimi was inconsistent, as if some were pre-made and refrigerated, then added to the platter, the sashimi was unevenly cut, some really thick pieces, and some really thin, the wasabi was oddly bland (not spicy at ALL). Volcano Asian used to be our go-to for freshness and value. I'm sad to say that wasn't our experience tonight. I hope they can return to the excellent fresh sushi and sashimi they used to offer. read more

I had the Basil Krapow from this place and found it to be delicious. Great value, tons of yummy stir fried veggies in a very appetizing sauce. Healthy and very substantial. Service was quick and the workers were also very friendly! There's a diverse array of classic dishes on the menu (the American favorites of pan-Asian cuisine, such as pho, sushi, orange chicken), so you're guaranteed to find something familiar. This is a small restaurant trying to cater to a large variety of Asian dishes, so be prepared that the dishes you order might not be the prepared exactly the way you're used to. For example, if you order bubble tea, you might receive it in a can (with a crystal boba texture rather than the classic tapioca pearls). When we came, the pho noodle soup we received had broccoli in it, which I've certainly never seen before! All of that being said, everything tasted good - the dish you receive just might not be the exact manifestation of what you expect. I'd recommend trying something that you haven't had before when you come here, which shouldn't be hard, given the variety of the menu. I've heard good things about the chicken korma! read more

Our favorite place to grab sushi on the go. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and the food is consistently good. Prices are reasonable and the order ends costing less than at other places. We order from Volcano on weekly basis, and not once had a less than stellar experience. I brought my parents to this place. It was awful. My father and I had pho noodles. They added vegetables that were not normally added in Pho. The smell of the soup was peculiar and the soup was oily... my father and I could only tolerate taking a few bites. Usually my dad would finish his meal so if he cannot eat it, it's really bad. My mother ordered vegetable lo mein which she said it was not too bad but they don't use the typical noodles for lo mein. We ordered 1 roll of the Spicy California Roll. It only had imitation crab meat and spicy mayo. Usually a California roll has imitation crab meat and avocado... The egg roll was okay but overpriced for the amount and quality. I don't recommend coming to this place. They're arranging food in their own way at their own convenience and not thinking about making higher quality of food at all. read more

i got the pad thai which tasted like it was made with ketchup instead of tamarind, my friend got the chicken stir fry, the fried rice was decent, however the miso soup that came with it seemed like it was missing miso, tasted mostly like water/tea, my other friend got the korma chicken curry. the curry tasted spoiled and like it was missing ingredients. my recommendation is to not mix so many asian cuisines in one restaurant and focus on one or two types to create higher quality tasting dishes. read more

We just ate our third meal from volcano and we're hooked! So far we've had various sushi rolls, veggie fried rice, chicken lo mein, orange chicken, so many salads, chicken pho, and the crab Rangoon. Everything has been fantastic and the price is a great deal for the quality of the food. I do think it's important to note that the crab Rangoon here is a different shape than you typically find so you don't get the huge amount of filling that you tend to see. I personally really like it because it's more crunchy than a mouthful of sweet goo. The food is always ready quickly and packaged really nicely so you don't lose any of the yummy sauces in the bag. This restaurant recently changed owners or concepts and I had heard that they added sushi to the menu. I was skeptical as I always am with sushi in Vermont, but it ended up being the best sushi I've had in the Burlington area. I got the tuna avocado and eel avocado rolls. The first was extremely fresh in both and the ratio of fish to avocado and rice was perfect. Not too much rice which I like and a generous amount of fish and avocado.
