A large group of us came here on a Saturday evening for one of our friends' going away thing. The mini golf was quite busy during the time that we were out there, but it didn't feel cramped at all! We decided to split our group into two teams and we did the Volcano one. It was a lot of fun, not very challenging but of course, our group made it competitive. After putting, we did the go-karts, which was also a lot of fun! Some of the guys' karts were slow, which was probably a good thing. They also have an arcade area, which was nice and cool since it was quite warm and muggy outside during the time we were there. The bathrooms were clean. We didn't try any of their food while there, but they had ice cream! This is my second time going and both times the guy in a blue shirt with long dirty blonde hair kicked my friends and I out for no reason. He lied about being the manager and walked away on us while talking to him. Other people were spinning eachother off but when we bump into each other we get kicked. He also threaten to fight my friends over go carts. Bad customer service, manager helped but wouldn't offer to refund our tickets or give us his name. read more

My family was so excited to have a fun day at Volcano Falls as it was a place we used to go to all the time years ago, but once we stepped on the mini golf course we quickly realized they haven't kept up the course. Almost every single hole needs the carpet/grass replaced or glued down as there was ripples, bulges or bumps all over the course. We attempted to straighten out the carpet every time we got to a hole, but the carpet was so old the bump or ripples were permanently stuck in the mat. The lava rocks and wood chips had eroded on most of the holes. In fact some of the holes had lava rocks stuck under the carpet mats. Positive thing is the water was very blue and pretty and it appears they keep the volcano painted, but it was quite disappointing to see the actual course has been neglected. We then went to the batting cages and half of the cages weren't working. While there two other families had to get refunded because the cages they put their credits in didn't work. The pitches were all over the place with half of them being so low and weak the ball never made it to the plate. It's frustrating to see basic upkeep (after it rains look over every hole and ensure lava rocks and wood chips haven't spilled over) isn't a priority. This place is always busy and with the cost they charge for everything there is not cheap, so it would be nice if they put some of their profits back into the place. Slapping paint on the place doesn't disguise the obvious issues. read more

Spent an afternoon here to entertain a 5 year old and an additional companion. Pros: -Kids will eat this place up. It would be exciting for any child -Area is pretty well kept, and actually does feel like a little mini amusement part. -I was cool with the gokarts -Arcade is adequate for amusement and seems to function properly. Cons: - Geez this place is expensive. Probably one of the most expensive video arcades I've ever played at. Everything here seems to be at a tad premium. Bottom Line: - The 2 star rating is considered a warning for adults on cost alone. I think Rockford needs a place like this, but this is a once in a great while stop for the kids read more

We've been a few times, but this last time was on Father's Day. There was quite a crowd for golf so we stuck with the track. It was a bit long of a wait, but overall, the employees are considerate and helpful. It is a pretty good way to spend an afternoon between the golf, the race cars and video games. read more

It looks so promising. A big mountain of 18 holes, but the holes just weren't interesting at all. It might as well have been on flat ground. The other course was actually more fun, and a dollar cheaper. This is a great place for a birthday party or whatever though because it has everything you could want, including a ridiculous batting cage setup. The prices were a bit high, but if you get the wrist band it could be a pretty exciting night. "Like" their Facebook page for a daily deal, worth it if you're planning on spending a decent amount of money there. If you just want to do one game of something, don't bother. read more

We went to this place after my nephews 4th birthday party and tickets for go carting are $7.50 for a single ride and $8.50 for a double ride. The go cart rides consist of 6 minutes. I don't go cart much so I am not sure if these prices are high or not. The location of this place is right of highway 90 so it's a great location. When it came to the go carts, my son and I had a great time. He was able to sit in his own seat and ride with me. In addition, they had a steering wheel for the kids so they could be "involved" with the driving. This is a fun place for all ages and and we had a great time. I'm giving five stars because I have no complaints. They had mini golf and little go carts for smaller kids to ride. I think the the age for these go carts are elementary age kids. Great little fun park! Kids had a great time! I'd say that the winner at this place for our group was the go karts. It was awesome that they offered double-seat go karts and even separate kidde go karts! Also nice that for the double-seat go karts they only charge for the driver. The drive time was plenty, all the go karts seemed to be working perfect, and it was great to be able to take even small kids and get to drive a little fast with them! We also played mini golf but not the main course because my youngest is still in a stroller and the big cool looking volcano mini golf course has a bunch of stairs so not so friendly to a stroller, however the other mini course they have was still fun for the other kids and good for the 'ol stroller. No one else there played this course, honestly it should've probably just been offered free haha! Especially with the $ we spent riding all the go karts! None the less, will definitely come back here anytime we stay in this area if we can just for the go karts alone! Had to come back and edit ... bring CASH. I should change my rating to -10 because no credit accepted but I still remember how much my kids were smiling while we were racing ... So they get a pass for this tonight. A fun park indeed, this place includes two 18 hole mini-putt courses, batting and soccer cages, 2 go-kart tracks, laser tag, and plenty of arcade games. It seemed a bit expensive, at $12 for one course and one go-kart ride, especially considering they take CASH or CHECK ONLY. Reasonable for a date, but 3+ kids and things start to get pricey. The day we went, they were out of vanilla soft serve, so I had to get the frozen yogurt instead. The strawberry was decent and they gave me a hefty serving so I was satisfied. Good for outdoor activities, those looking to practice their baseball swings, children's entertainment, a fun date, and those who carry stacks in them pockets. read more

Visited VF. We had a great time. The batting cages were fun for everyone, kids and adults. The adults got to show they kids "we still had it!" The go carts were great, so was the miniature golf. Volcano Falls is awesome and has almost everything you'd want it have. Their staff is great, the place is nice and clean, they had good food... and they have a brand new Laser Maze Challenge that everyone in our group played probably 10 times a piece! Super fun, we'll be back. read more

This is a reasonably priced alternative to other theme parks around the Chicago area. While it's next to the highway, the ambient noise and lack of view don't do much in taking away from the experience of the 18 hole mini golf or go karts. It's suitable for all ages, and I had a blast! read more

Have visited this attraction twice on a visit to the area. The mini golf is typical, as well as the arcade. The go-carts are great for all ages 4 and up. My 6 year old had a blast on the mini track... No rail and like driving a real car was so fun for her. The prices for go carts seem high but they get a lengthy amount of time. The bridge track is perfect for the older ones and young passengers. If you are looking for something to do for a few hours on a nice day... It is perfect.. Was there on a Monday night. Had potential for a great time, however the teenager population is rather high there and there is no staff supervision on the mini putting course. Teenage boys and no supervision = trouble. My 3 and 6 year old heard more swear words than they should have. I gave the teenagers a look and they stopped for the most part, but there really should be a staff member out there when there are groups of teenagers (especially boys). They were also getting unruly with the the course hitting things with their putter, etc. Didn't enjoy myself because I had to constantly monitor their behavior behind us. A roaming staff member would prevent the problems. *Note they do have a video camera at the top, must not be anybody monitoring it though. Also rode the 2 seater gocarts with my kids. This was a lot of fun, however I found it a major safety issue in that they leave the engines running while allowing people to exit the cars after the ride is done. It would only take one misplaced foot onto a gas pedal while trying to get up to send a car with nobody steering straight into others who have left the safety of their car/safety belts. Engines should be shut off before allowing people to get up. Wish they took credit cards. Seriously what business doesn't take credit cards? I rarely carry cash any more. All in all the staff is friendly and helpful, I just hope these three issues are considered so that I can enjoy the place in the future. read more
