I recently ordered a combination noodle soup from Volcano, and I must say, I was disappointed with the overall quality, particularly the shrimp. The shrimp in the soup was extremely mushy, which was quite unpleasant. Mushy shrimp could result from overcooking or using shrimp that wasn't fresh. Overcooking shrimp causes them to lose their firm texture, turning them into a soft, rubbery mess. Freshness is crucial for seafood, and anything less can ruin the dish. Serving shrimp in this state shouldn't be acceptable as it detracts from the enjoyment of the meal and raises concerns about food safety. With inflation driving up prices, customers naturally expect a level of quality that justifies the expense. Cutting corners on ingredients or preparation isn't the way to win loyal customers. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback to heart and improves the quality of their dishes. read more

4 Words -Soft Shell Crab Rolls. This place is consistently excellent. From the food to the atmosphere- to the sweet lady that walks around making sure you are taken care of. The drinks, dinner, service & atmosphere make a great evening with friends or family. Best to make reservations, the place is not huge- they have a nice bar area where you can relax while waiting for your table. I love sitting at the sushi bar- watching them prepare the meal is entertaining. We had spring rolls and the most incredible thing on the menu- soft shell crab rolls, these things are indescribable - so good is all I can say. The only negative is the $ is slightly higher for non sushi items...but the quality, atmosphere & service makes up for the slightly higher $.. I eat sushi every year on my birthday. So having just moved here to Odessa finding a sushi place with a sushi bar became a goal. Tried a couple places and found they weren't what I had come to expect and hoped for having come from Southern California and having that luxury of food. I must say the sushi I ordered (and I ordered a lot) was remarkable. The taste was fantastic and the thing that shot it over the top was the amazing art on the plate. I have had some of the greatest sushi on the planet, but never have I had some time and effort put into my experience of looking at my plate. Well done. My only desire would have been the shashimi I ordered to have been raw like I have always expected it. I don't typically enjoy Asian culture but even as a racist I can truly say that this is one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. Whether it's sushi or sashimi, I'm always satisfied and that's saying something with how often I visit. I'd leave a five star review but there's nothing like Meemaw's home style. Besides my Meemaw, I'd also like to complain that it always seems a little cluttered. It seems like there's always one or two seating booths being used as a storage area rather than an eating area. I can put that aside, however, because I've never seen my Mijo smile harder than when the cook drew a picture of the rat from Thomas and Jerry on his plate of sushi. read more

This is my second time eating at this location and it was excellent. The staff are friendly and smiling and the food is delicious and comes out quickly. We always try something different and are never disappointed. We had the Godzilla roll and Vokano burrito. Both were good though the burrito wasn't my favorite thing ever but that's just a personal opinion. I'd definitely recommend the Godzilla roll. Order the edamame spicy. Udon noodles were delicious. Definitely a great lunch date spot. Restrooms are very clean and the sake is always hot. read more

I travel a lot and had sushi all over the US and I can promise you; you will not make any mistake ordering off this menu. Quality very fresh fish all around. This is the best Chinese I have had in the city. My boyfriend and I always aim to try a place we have never been to before, but very often we end up going back to Wokcano! The yummy yaki dish (mix of teriyaki chicken, steak, and salmon) is flawless. The simpler dishes such as the general tso's chicken or the beef and broccoli are also delicious. High prices. Tiny portions. Even tiny portions of RICE. Strange Vibe/inability to communicate with waitstaff. Strong deodorizer smell greets you in cubbyhole by door.
