To be completely honest, I am not a smoker or a vaper, but my husband and whenever we go into these "smoke shops" its always super awkward and kinda gross. So happy we found Volcano Vape Shop! It was literally the opposite! So far best Vape shop I have ever been to! When we first walked in the first thing I noticed was that the entire place was spotless and super clean. Everything was nicely organized and behind the counter or glass. The employee working that day was super helpful and nice. He showed us the different types of vapes and explained the different flavors. He really took the time to help my husband get the right vape for him. Unfortunate experience considering all of the other glowing reviews: tried giving them my business on a Tuesday afternoon but found the door padlocked and a sign stating temporarily closed until 5:30 - fast cut to 6:00 PM - me and a couple other potential customers are left out in the proverbial cold with no relief in sight. Came back another day (calling ahead of time to ensure they were actually open) and found a somewhat letdown of a selection and definitely a price range that could use some competitive spirit - I won't name names but I found another establishment within walking distance that offered a similar selection for a much more enticing price range. There is a tiny sign on the wall that says no returns or exchanges however I did not see that AND the receipt does not state that. It states that unopened items can be returned for store credit within 30 days from purchase. I went 4 days after. The package was opened by the employee when I went to return while he was on the phone with his assistant manager asking for approval. The assistant manager denied my return. I wasn't even asking for my money back and would've gladly taken the store credit THAT IS PRINTED ON THE RECEIPT. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. So far this place has been awesome! No complaints from me. Last night I bought a vape and it was right around closing time. I got home and after a few hits this thing just literally started cooking itself. Making a weird ticking sound and getting hot to the touch. I'm waiting for the shop to open. The inferno is not good quality, and the juices and equipment is so over priced across the board. I bought new equipment online. I waited too long to order cartridges so gotta buy from store. I was about 4th in line - when It was my turn he grabbed what I needed but he said they were out of the 0.5ohm pods. So the guy apologizes for not having any in stock and proceeds to give me one of is own personal pods, right p out of the box he had paid for with his own money. And when I have no idea what flavor to get, I just tell them what I normally like and they have great suggestions...great knowledge of liquids and salts. I didn't get that "I'm talking to this person, you can wait" vibe at all. Awesome! It took me longer to find the place & parking than to make my purchase. Incase anyone else is wondering, they're located in the same 2 story building Sam Choy's used to be in (immediately after First Hawaiian Bank when you're driving north on Kapahulu). You can park downstairs (which looked pretty empty when I walked past) or be like me & find street parking because you're paranoid that your big SUV won't fit in the parking structure. read more

I came to Hawaii from Cali for vacation, and there I was scoping out shops to purchase a coil for my device at the time. Volcano Vape Shop on Kapahulu Ave was the closest one so I walked there and welcomed by the friendliest staffs(3 behind the counter) in Hawaii I ever encountered so far. Unfortunately they ran out of the coil I needed, but to my surprise one of the employee named Carrie offered to give her own personal leftover coils that happened to be waiting to be given out for "FREE" I've been a vaper for quite some time and never experienced a VIP treatment from such establishments as the VOLCANO Vape Shop. These employees working there should not be in the customer service industry and should just work at a library instead. Do yourself a favor, if you hate your job, quite and find another one. ATMOSPHERE: This place has fierce red walls and has a couch right in the middle that looks really comfy except we couldn't sit on because some people were hogging it. The place has two big tv. screens hung on the wall one round table and one long ledge table that looks out into Kapahulu's golf course...overall it's a really nice chill place I just don't think it's the place to study at since there seems to be a lot of talking going on. COFFEE DRINK: I ordered the iced white chocolate mocha...That was the BEST white chocolate mocha I have ever tasted...usually white mochas are too sweet but this one was just right. I couldn't stop drinking it. SERVICE: After we got the drinks we wanted to pay for them but the guy said "no you pay later"...we were kind of confused, so we just sat down at the table ledge. About 30 mins later another guy came over and he said "you can pay now" ...that was just kind of weird to me, I wasn't sure if that was routine or not.
