This is a hidden gem to me! So I'm a study-abroad student and I've been renting out a place in Kapahulu, and I stumbled in here since I felt I had tried everything Kapahulu has to offer. I can't believe this place only has 4 reviews! All the other places I've been frequenting in the area (Ono, Tenkaippin, Tokkuri Tei, etc etc) have hundreds. This cafe is so nice and cozy! I have tried both iced coffee and iced tea here. It's pretty decent and tasty, and it doesn't hurt that it's really cheap. I like the gaming set-up they have, and the very cool lounge atmosphere. I actually walked right over here and stayed for a few hours when the internet at my place broke down. The staff is usually really mellow and won't bother me about anything. Yet they are extremely friendly and helpful when I have a question. Such as "Can I have the bathroom key?" The layout is as follows: Comfy couches in the middle with a low table, a kind of "bar" layout at the window, and another "bar" with plugs for your computer at the wall. Free, reliable wifi. And this place is usually rather empty, which I like. I almost feel like I shouldnt have written this review and risk ruining the nice emptiness ;). read more

My BF introduced me to this store when I had to buy a birthday gift for my friend. He recently gave up smoking regular cigarettes and started smoking vapor cigarettes. I guess he really likes it because he hasn't purchased a single pack of Marlboro since he bought that thing! This store is located on Kapahulu in the same building as the old Sam Choy's and Hee Hing next to the First Hawaiian Bank. I parked across the street and jay walked but I believe they have a parking structure. The store in nice and clean and the staff was very helpful. I have no clue about any of this and I'm not a smoker so I felt like a lost puppy in there. The worker asked me questions about the friend I was buying it for like, "how often does she smoke?" I guess this helped her determine which product was right for her. I ended up buying her a kit which came with two batteries, chargers, V-liquid, and all these other things that I can't remember. The price was a little less than $80. It's kind of cool because you can choose the levels of nicotine in the liquid and they have different flavors too! I got her blue water punch and pineapple. It sounds so tasty that I wished I smoked... maybe not lol. Anyway, like I said, the staff is very helpful so if you're clueless but wanna try it out, head down and they will hook it up. So I decided to go on an adventure today and headed to Kapahulu with a friend. We grabbed a bite to eat and then roamed the street to settle our tummies. On the way back up Kapahulu, we stumbled upon Volcano Vapor Cafe. Looked at each other, shrugged and asked, "Why not?" This place is a modern looking cafe that hosts the electronic cigarettes that are everywhere now. But not only can you purchase different models of the e-cigs on top of a ridiculous list of flavors, you can grab a coffee, watch a movie, get on your laptop, or play video games. Interesting concept. My friend and I went in and we don't smoke cigarettes, but just explained our curiosity. The guy who helped us wasn't put off a bit, and explained to us how "vaping" works. Very knowledgeable and friendly. He even offered us a nicotine free sample. So we sat at the counter top and ordered a couple of soy chai teas, which notably, were ridiculously creamy and delicious on top of being the cheapest I've seen. I had a pear flavor vapor, my friend had mango. We watched the guy assemble everything and he told us just to take a long, slow inhale. It was quite flavorful and fragrant. Very relaxing, but burned my throat after a bit. Definitely a different kind of experience, but not really my thing. I would advise all smokers to go electronic though. They have various nicotine levels, so it could help you cut down, or potentially wean off of it altogether. Also, no secondhand smoke or extra chemicals, and I'd much rather smell flavored vapor then cigarette smoke! Had good conversation with all the staff too while we were at the counter. This is my first vapor smoke shop experience. I recently discovered vapor e-cigarettes...the new big stick kind...not the ones that look like a cigarette. Those are lame. This place is awesome! You can "vape" all you want in there, lounge & watch TV, hang out and sample all the flavors you want! The people at the counter are very nice and helpful. I learned that if your throat hurts, it because the nicotine level is too high for you. There are over 30 flavors (like Baskin Robbins!) to choose from, different nicotine levels, and they close at midnight! They only sell Volcano brand so if you're looking for accessories for other e-cigs it might not fit. We had our own and none of the stuff fit. The refills cost about $11 for the small and no bundle discount but it's still a decent price vs buying regular cigarettes. read more

This location takes your ID and inputs your information from your ID into their system. This really bothers me. I understand that an ID is required to ascertain that you are 18 and over for sale of their products. However, I think this big brother crap with the IDs must be an internal policy that I do not like and do not agree with. My last visit to this vendor for my vaping purposes. On a positive note, I probably would have blown up more had the man helping me not been so hot! Terrible costumer service, told them my battery doesn't work after I charge it up, the skinny dark kid at the kiosk infront of food land told me he gota see it to believe it , Yea Buddy I would invite u to my home and let u sleep over and see that your product sucks and not responding after a full night charge . I got the Joyetech Cuboid from the NEX location when it first came out and have been using it as my daily paired with a Smok TFV4 at 100w. It is a fantastic device that I couldn't be happier with. Today something odd happened and it malfunctioned. I called the NEX location and they advised me to bring it in to take a look at it. I have always gone to the NEX location for their excellent service, but as I was in town, I asked if it was okay to go to the Kapahulu location instead. They said it was fine. I came in expecting a difficult time. Jonathan listened to what happened and inspected my device. When it was clear it was not due to abuse or misuse it was replaced at no charge. I'm not sure why some people complained about difficulty with their warranty policy, but I was impressed by how well they handled it. Because of this, I left with two mods I purchased as gifts. I am used to going to Ala Moana to buy my liquid but discovered this gem closer to home. This place is located right on Kapahulu Ave. To be honest, you have to look for it to know where it is. I highly recommend calling them so they can tell you what to look for. The workers here are very friendly. When I came in the first time, I was brand new to vaping and had no clue what to look for in terms of flavored liquid. The woman assisting me was very patient and gave me her opinion on flavors. She even let me taste a few. I am a huge fan of the fruit flavors. Halawa Guava, Peach, Lychee and Pear are my top picks. I also love that they having parking. It is located underneath the building. Just let the parking attendant know that you are going to Volcano and they will give you a 15 minute grace period. Wow this place is frustrating. Not the individual employees, but just an unsatisfying experience in general. I just want a good working e-cig, I know how they work. A new piece shouldn't be flooding and leaking. But when I went back into the shop to see what's up with it, they were reluctant to do much for me without trying to get more money out of me. Makana & the rest of the staff is great. But I think the management is lacking. About half the time I come in they are out of the big bottles of RY Four. So they only have the little bottles. Not the end of the world. But it's one of the most popular flavors. Why are the out of the big bottles all the time? And this is more of a pet peeve. But they give you 15% discount if you fill out a survey which you can do on your phone. But for whatever reason it won't work on my phone. It's not the end of the world but it takes an extra 2 or 3 minutes every time I go there. I have asked the staff to tell their managers about it the last 10 times. And the staff has said they have reported to the managers but it still doesn't work. I told them I was going to do a Yelp review in hopes that would encourage them to fix the issue but Nope. So..... If they ever fix these issues I'll change my review but at this stage I'm not holding my breath. As I am typing this I'm thinking I might just switch to a different company. read more

A friend turned me onto the lavatube so decided I wanted to get one. Went in on a Sunday morning right at 9 (yay for them being open on time). I was greeted as soon as I entered and the assistant manager Adam helped me out. He was quite friendly. I already knew which ecig I wanted so it was just a matter of him teaching me how to use it and letting me try several juices until I settled on the guava. While I was there another female customer who must have been a regular came in and sat at the counter. "Cotton candy" he asked her and she smiled and said yes. obviously there are at least some happy regulars for this place. They have a lot of stuff, but they are definitely pricier than some of the other vape shops on island. I come here a lot and I purchased a disposable vape yesterday without getting a receipt. It was the worst vape I've ever bought. It completely died after 10 puffs. It overheated and leaked everywhere in the process. I tried to take it back the next day and showed them the purchase on my banking app to provide proof of payment but they refused to give me another one. I used to come here a lot, but I will never come here again and now my roommates know to do the same. If you're going to charge more for your vapes than competitors, at least help out the customer if they get a dud. read more

I didn't realize that Volcano had a location here but I'm super happy to have stumbled across it. The kiosk in Pearlridge Mall is a hot mess. There are a ton of people waiting in line...lining up even before the mall officially opens. Even though the employees there are really nice, you can't help but feel rushed. Kapahulu has a totally different vibe. Its mellow and it seems the people who come in are regulars. They're in and out and that let me spend a lot of time with the knowledgeable employees. I'm fairly new to the e-cig world so I was stoked when Sadie and Andrew shared all their time and tips and tricks with me. I was shocked to read the horrible reviews for this place. I've been to this location 3 times in the past few months. I guess I've been lucky since Sadie and Andrew have been there each time. They're really nice and are always more than willing to spend time teaching, explaining, and just chatting about the products. Great customer service! Everyone there is very nice. The managers name is Sadie...she's awesome! After only 3 times there, everyone knew who I was. As a former smoker, I think Volcano eCig is an awesome alternative to cigarettes. The equipment is reasonably priced and I love that there are endless flavors to try. Also different levels of nicotine so you can wean yourself off nicotine and still vape safely. And oh the colors!! So many to choose from as well. I bought the purple lava tube...so pretty! Oh and it's also a cafe where you can get sandwiches and drinks. It's a nice place to hang out. With stools and counter seats or couches, it's a very comfortable atmosphere and doesn't stink of cigarette smoke! Location is so easy to find. The line moves quickly so you can be in and out quickly if you prefer. Don't compare Volcano eCigs to others. This one is totally different. Easy to use. Safe. Doesn't give you headaches or make you feel sick. I highly recommend this if you want to quit smoking gross cigarettes! This is my favorite volcano location. I'm kind of an idiot when it comes to my device and the staff is super friendly and always so helpful. My first visit was when I first received my lava tube and I was having issues with it like flooding and my flavor always tasting burnt. Brandy helped me that day and explained the whole device to me and steps I had to take to vape properly. I visited today because I couldn't taste my cotton candy. I was recently living in Hawaii and was very impressed with this company so when I decided to enter the world of eCigs I reached out to this company to purchase some of the products. I was recommended the SMOK V8 as a starter and I also purchased about 20 bottles of liquid. After a very short time of using the product it started to leak all over and I wasn't able to use it anymore so I emailed the company to figure a solution and they decided to send me a few replacement parts at no cost to me which was appreciated at first. When I installed the new parts it leaked even worse and have not been able to use the product at all since then. I had roughly 25 emails back and forth with the customer help desk and they finally said I should call them. I have called multiple times and it goes straight to voicemail with not even one ring. Not once have they called me back and if they have they haven't left one message for me. I was willing to keep this horrible experience to myself as I know things happen but when they just wrote me off that was uncalled for and not appreciated one bit. I was willing to try anything they asked and I did but when I requested a refund or new product the disappeared. Maybe they will reach out to me now that I have gone to social media. Needed a replacement glass for my Smoktech tfv12 tank. Guy working glances at my mod and tells me they have 4 and then immediately tells me "wait never mind we have none" without even checking what tank I had. Seems like they don't know what they are selling nor what they have in stock and could care less to check what customers actually need. Also everything is way overpriced from the prices online. I will never purchase in store ever again to avoid dealing with these idiots. Unless you need a emergency replacement I would advise you to do the same or look elsewhere read more

This place saved me from the worst nic fit of my life. Others have said that the customer service sucked, but I disagree. I walked out of that cafe with a brand new e-cig starter set. I don't know what the girl's name was, but she was blond, and went over everything with me, twice, just so I got it. She also let me try all the flavors I wanted. So I was pretty happy with the service I got. Also, the coffee was pretty good. I think my only criticism would be the decor. I think they are going for edgy and modern, but it's kind of weird. I often visit Volcano Vape Shop and have experienced great service with the exception of Kevin. Kevin is THE WORST customer service associate I've EVER experienced in ANY retailer I've ever patronized!!! He has ALWAYS had such a poor attitude and I've written a review before and NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!!!! First of all, I called the store twice to see if they had the Pod Stick - Arctic Lush available before I went down since that one is often sold out. No answer both times. I mentioned that when I was at the register and he completely ignored me and continued to proceed with the checkout. No apology, nothing. He gave me my total of $12.79 and as I had smaller dollar bills to get rid of, I was counting my money and deciding how I wanted to pay and he very rudely said "it's gonna be $13". As if I was stupid and did not know how much I owed. I was already extremely irritated at that point but I still said please and thank you. As I walked out the door he coughed and said "bitch".
