We had breakfast here, and it is so adorable! My shakshuka was delicious and my husband enjoyed his breakfast toast. Considering they get very busy, service was slow. I had to track down a server for our order and when it was time for the bill. I love the concept of how this place was founded by seniors and the funds go back into that community!

Love this place! 10/10 vibes. It was recommended by a friend whose family member studied abroad in Vienna. It is run by grandparents giving this a homey feel. Make sure to try their cake - you'll get a token and get to redeem it at the cake counter where a grandma will ask you which slice you want.

    Breakfast for two.

My friend and I were in search of breakfast in the area, as it was very close to our Airbnb. After passing a couple spots that were too crowded, we got lucky and were able to squeeze into one of the big tables. They were very busy, but it took a while for our order to get taken. They all seemed to speak English and have English menus so don't worry if you aren't up on your German like me. We got the breakfast platter for two which had all manner of delicious eats. It seriously kept us full for the entire day. My minus one star is because one of the eggs Benedict was like a hard boiled egg... and unfortunately the one that I got! My friends' egg was perfect. I'd have asked for a new one because that drives me crazy but it would've been too long I think. Would eat here again. Can recommend.

Great cute concept to support the elderly but cakes/drinks were not up to par. Perhaps it was towards the end of the day (5:30pm) when I dropped in but there were not many cake options left. I got a chocolate cake which was quite dry and a hot chocolate that was lukewarm and tasted like it was from an instant packet. Interior is cozy with lots of picture frame decors which definitely gives you that feeling of being at your grandparent's home. Happy to have supported, but quality of cake was absent for me.

Warm and efficient Oma style service. I needed a light dinner so the small breakfast set had just enough protein and carb intake. It's really good as you get refills on your drinks which is why the crowd was very young. A great hang out place. If you only wanted drinks, there's a menu item for that too. Pretty glad I dropped by this social enterprise. More for meet ups and catch ups!

Enjoyed the food and ambience as well as their warm and excellent service! Price was not bad either!

DO NOT TAKE KIDS. If you're an adult and have no kids or would go here without kids- yes by all means. Pretend this review is 5 stars then and go. Just not hungry. Portions are very small and options limited. The concept of this cafe is visiting granny. Local seniors act as hosts and do the baking of the famous cakes. I'm told they're delicious. As a gluten free person I couldn't try any which is understandable! Flour in the omelette was disappointing though. The decor is precious. Antiques all over the walls. Antique furniture- the theme is carried out perfectly! Here is where we get to the no kids recommendation. I'll just spell it out so it's clear: 1) grannies does not = friendly. Especially in Austria. I say this as an Austrian (we are low key proud of our unfriendliness). This played out upon arrival already. Our granny host let us know that had she known we had two strollers- she would not have granted us a table. 2) the granny did an aggressive "shush" with hand motion at my toddler. Incredibly rude and condescending. She then brought him a toy. An antique arabesque. He played with it for a bit. The toddler was then intrigued by all the antiques hung at reaching distance. Again, lovely decor. Do not fault this. It is an impossible scenario with a curious toddler though. 3) our order was brought out inconsistently. Drinks came 15 min after the food. Not great with kids. 4) service was... well passive aggressive. Friendly but in a the person was annoyed way. More passive aggressive than regular Viennese table service. We found ourselves desperate to pay and go trying to wrangle the kids around the antiques. They have a no phones program which we could have easily forgone but really all the antiques were too interesting to the toddlers regardless! In conclusion, by all means go and enjoy the lovely theme with a social mission of supporting seniors. Please do. Just don't take kids.

Super super cute place. Despite Austria priding itself on its unfriendliness it's actually quite nice/not rude despite cafe culture sometimes being that. I really enjoyed my 60-min seating with unlimited drinks (hot/cold) and the cake. Will definitely recommend this to my friends and possibly come back for another meal before I leave. Many people say they don't take card but they do now!

My friend and I came for dinner, ordered our food and at the counter, picked up our apricot cake and awaited our warm food. Food ordered: 1. Weibwurste: 5/5 - this came with 2 veal sausages (note that they are white and come in a broth), a pretzel and sweet mustard. I liked everything! The sausage was tougher to cut because of the sausage container/outside but it was delicious paired dipped or drank with the broth. 2. Apricot cake: 5/5 - this was a light vanilla cake with cooked apricots. The cake was fluffy and not dry, while the apricots were obviously fresh and sweet.

When Yelping places to dine in Austria, I never thought that I would stumble upon such a cute and unique establishment like Vollpensipn. The places is run by grandmas (called "oma") and some younger workers. The grannies do all of the cooking and baking while the younger manages the cashier. The decor is oddly adorable as well, mismatched furniture and dishes. You never know what you're going to get. Their bathrooms are clean and also adorable (all of the women's restroom fixtures were pink!). One thing to note, Vollpension is a cash only establishment.

This was a wise decision. The indoor space is beautiful and we were seated promptly both times (mid-day). The first time we both got coffee drinks and shared a piece of apple strudel. Second visit we were hungrier so shared the two tiered "best of" sampler. It included four savory open-faced sandwiches and four desserts. All in small sizes, although still big enough to share with another person. The other reason for the second visit was to peruse their downstairs shop. We wanted to bring some high quality souvenirs home to gift to family/friends and this was the perfect shopping location. We got a few chocolate things, including a little something for us. One thing I noticed is that, in addition to tasty chocolates, the boxes themselves are quite pretty and a gift themselves. They also have some non-food options, including branded aprons and reusable bags.

Took a walking tour and our guide recommended this place for the pancake desserts. We ordered a…read morepancake and a strudel. Both were good, especially with the respective sauces. Went well with the Anna's coffee. We sat outside but they also have indoor seating with an upstairs area.
