All I wanted out of my neighborhood bike shop was their help installing a couple of bike tubes so my wife could ride the neighborhood with her granddaughter. My lord he went into an entire spiel about bearings and sprockets that went in one ear and out the other. I purchased my original Townie from the same store (in Cape Coral) Several years prior. After leaving the bike a few days to obtain a quote for the repair, I was informed they were not able to repair the bike. i was disappointed that they couldn't repair a bike I purchased from them and was provided no reasonable explanation "why?". I brought the bike home and it took me 20 minutes to take the lower bracket apart and identify the part needed. They actually had the part in stock at the store so I returned to purchase the $17.00 item. I got home and it took another 15 minutes to complete the repair. While I was at the store, a man who identify himself as the Regional Manager introduced himself and I explained the circumstances. He said he was going to call me but never did. I purchased 2 Townies from the store along with accessories....my complaint is not with the bikes, but customer service AFTER the sale. Good luck, I hope this helps inform you on your next purchase. Actually check the place out before you jeopardize a man's business for such a stupid reason. The hours posted on their website are current and accurate; they have little control over what some other website(s) publishes. I have updated Yelp's page with the correct hours, hopefully will be changed soon. Beau is always working when I stop in for one thing or another, and he's helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Also, he's pretty good at managing multiple customers at once. And Joey insists on loading up my bike for me. Have never had bad customer service in here. I recently dropped off my bike for service because I'm lazy and I like going into bike shops. $60 for all the usual bike tune-up stuff: drivetrain, breaks, wheels, headset, degreased, re-greased, other good stuff. The best part - I brought it in late afternoon and picked up the next day early afternoon and the bike looked like NEW - so shiny and clean. Other places I've been to charge as much, don't do as much and take longer. I'm stingy with my 5's but these guys earned an extra star from me due to their activities with the community: Things like volunteering their time to give bike safety and maintenance lessons at the local schools. One of their employees is a former BMX racer so the kids get to ride with him on a BMX track. The last time I stopped in I got to hear about a little girl who has a permanent disability, and courtesy of the guys at Hollywood Bike, had her walker customized with a special bike seat so now she can continue using a walker and not have to use a wheelchair. 5 stars. If you're looking for a new bike, Hollywood is located in a convenient location on Santa Barbara, not far from Veteran's, and behind the building is a nice quiet neighborhood for test drives. The store has a lot of accessories and helmets. Check them out! That being said, one has to take care of his/her bicycle when little things come up. Such was the case when I had to stop about every 100 yards to hand pump my back tire up on one of my daily rides. So, I came by yesterday inquiring about getting a tube replaced in my rear tire as it had started leaking (see top paragraph). The employee I spoke with asked me if I could bring my bike by the next day between 2pm and 3pm and he would change it out while I waited. Today, at approximately 2:40pm, I returned and true to his word, he replaced the tube. He also visually inspected the tire for any damage and any foreign objects that might have contributed to the leak. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes! Total charge was $10.00 (which I thought was very reasonable). In addition to superb service, this shop has a nice lineup of Trek bicycles - traditional leg powered ones to the ever becoming more popular "E-Bikes" (electric). I will warn you, the electric bikes can get quite expensive. I fell in love with an "Allant + 8S". It's made for those that want to go far and go fast (top speed 28mph). It commands quite a pretty penny. But hey, you're not paying for gas. I'll save my pennies. They have all the supporting bicycle tools, helmets, and (some) apparel one might need. Trek is a well built, and durable bike. I've had mine for over six years - taking it to an authorized Trek service shop occasionally for minor adjustments and tune-ups.
