I am writing this on behalf of a close friend. They had had many electrical issues when they moved into their new house so they called Volt Doctors to help them out. They had reached out to some other electricians but they got the best quote from Volt Doctors. As soon as he arrived he started to get to work but it wasn't long before they were called in to check out the problem. The guy told them that they were going to need to tear into the wall to fix the problem which was going to cost an extra $200. They went ahead and did it and the problems were fixed. A couple weeks later they had the same problems and water damage from a storm in the spot they had destroyed the wall. They called a new company who said that the original problem did not require the wall destruction. That company also fixed the lights and the wall for less that Volt Doctors had done it for. The Volt Doctors essentialy stole from our friends so this was unnaceptable. read more

Loss of power at my office. I was covering over the weekend and needed to have power back to be able to support my customers ASAP. Volt Doctors had great reviews and emergency service. I have to say though, after calling and speaking to whomever it was that answered, I hesitated. I had to repeat myself many times regarding the problem I was having, my contact info and the location. Even after stating the name of the business several times, they even read it back wrong to me. And when I signed for the invoice after the job, the email was incorrect. With that said, the response time was great. The communication from the electrician ("JP" - James Pryor) was outstanding! He was prompt, professional, and gave 110% effort to work through the troubleshooting process. Even took it upon himself to do more research through the night find a part that was needed. The total cost for repairs was a bit pricey - but then again, it was emergency service, on a weekend, after hours, and we were back up and running in about 24 hours. So all in all, it was worth it. JP is as good as they come. He alone is the reason I would call Volt Doctors again. read more

JP did an absolutely fantastic job for us. We had a whole lighting house project, consisting of 22 recessed lights, 3 ceiling fans and 2 wall sconces. While we were considering whether to move forward he walked us through our options and gave us great insights into what he recommended. The installation next week was very professionally done. He took his time and did everything carefully and painstakingly, taking the time required to get everything right. After we decided to replace the initial ceiling fan with a different model he returned that week to dissemble the old fan and install the new one. We could not be more pleased with his work and would highly recommend him to anyone considering an electrical project. read more

Volt Doctors has been doing all our electrical for our house renovation. From the beginning, they went above and beyond to make us feel heard with what we wanted and suggesting great ideas with the placement of new switches, outlets, and can lights. After Reading all the great reviews for Volt Doctors I felt they were a good choice to have come out and give me an estimate. They told me an electrician was in the area and that he would be out that day. The electrician was very nice, seem like a good guy until he started telling me how hard the job was going to be and that he would have to make big holes in my walls and possibly tear out some of my tile work to get to the job. The real kicker was he told me it would take two to possibly three thousand dollars. He cleaned my electrical panel, had me getting things for him, like a gofer, then charged me a 138.00 service charge. This made it even more apparent that he did not want the job. I called Volt Dr. out for an estimate not a service call. I called another company and they came out and did all the work in a reasonable amount of time. They only made a few small holes and it was less then 1000.00 dollars. Revision: Sorry for the bad review. Volt Doctors called me and apologized, saying this is not the way we do things and refunded me my 138.00. Just goes to show that even in a good company like Volt Doctors there can be a bad egg, it's the same for everyone I think. What is important is that they made it right, and that's what it's all about. Good job Volt Doctors. I can see you really care about your customers. Will definitely consider Volt Doctors for my next electric project. read more

They were great! They answered all of my questions and even tolerated my OCD. I had them upgrade my meter and breaker box, install some can lights in the basement, and one in the upstairs bathroom (as well as fixing the switch that was hanging out of the wall because it had caught on fire a year ago so I left it where it would do the least damage). They fixed everything and were very courteous the entire time. I will have them back again once I get this work paid for. Speaking of the payment they do finance and its 12months no interest so if you can pay it off in that 12 months youre golden. Hence why they only did half of what I wanted to do electrically in the house. read more

I have used Volt Doctors before and generally like their prompt, if somewhat pricey service. I just used Volt Doctors to change a battery on the generator. They wanted a diagnostic fee of $160 even though a Volt Doctor electrician from the previous visit had already diagnosed the problem as being a bad battery. They then charged me $442 for replacing a battery that costs less than $100 on Amazon. The actual replacement was no more than 5 minutes of work. I agreed in the moment, because I trusted them. They claim "fair" pricing, but how is this a fair markup? This is just gouging. read more

They had a scheduling error that made them a no-show on the initial appointment time slot. Manager Jackie called me back after I found this out, apologized and got it straightened out for an appointment time the next day of my choosing. Eric showed up at the appointed time and quickly corrected the electrical problem and waived the charges due to the previous day's scheduling miscue. JP and Denard were awesome. Needed my gas line grounded, and even though my electrical box wasn't grounded properly and it was 100 degrees outside they got the job done. Everything looked great, was very neat, siliconed the penetrations, and were just very friendly guys. I lost power on a number of outlets and tried to figure out the problem but could not. I called Volt Doctors this morning and they sent Chad and Kenny over this afternoon. They were great. They were polite, punctual, and took care of the problem. Moreover, Chad was extremely helpful and explained what he was doing and what had happened. Had to have some wires pulled through the house after damage following a recent storm. Volt Drs came out and quoted $1500 to replace the wiring. I was kind of shocked. Installation of the wiring cost $800, and they didn't have existing conduit to pull through, or existing wires to tie on to. It's also worth noting that this was $1500 of labor alone. I was offering to provide all materials. When I expressed some concern over the price, I was told it was "almost a day's worth of work." I thanked the gentleman for his time, then proceeded to knock out the whole project myself in about four hours, for a grand total of about $150. I will absolutely call this company in the future when I want to be fleeced. For actual electrical work, I'll probably go with someone who doesn't charge as much as an M.D. read more

Called around noon and they said they could be out here by 3:00. They were prompt and courteous and actually fixed the issue within 20 minutes. It appears their lowest rate is for 1 hr for $80, but it would have been nice to have a half hour rate. But they really were great. I'll use them again. read more

The dishwasher repair person took a quick look and saw that a wire had been cut by the hinge of the dishwasher door. $99 for that. I called a "big" electrician company who could not get out to see me for 8 days and there would be a diagnostic charge of $99. I explained I didn't need a diagnosis as I just got one from the repair folks and they took a photo. They only repeated the fee. I saw that Volt Doctors got good reviews. Not only did they send someone out the next day, they waived the fee! Jasper replaced and re-routed the wire in less than an hour for not much more than the original diagnostic fee! Jasper is why I would use this company again-they hire good, smart people. read more

I called Volt Dr for a quote to have 5 ceiling fans installed and 2 lights switched out. Joey arrived on time and gave me a quote that was much cheaper than the other quote I got. He offered to do the work that morning and I gave him the go ahead. Joey did a great job, he was efficient, knowledgeable and cleaned up after himself. All fans and lights look great! read more
