Mind you, the woman who waited on me was very nice and professional, so a bonus star for that. But I think waiting 13 weeks for a piece of furniture--especially when I was told the wait would be roughly half that--is excessive. No. Seriously. I realize that this is not Ikea. I do understand having a waiting period for well-built stuff. I really do. But houses are built in less time. Handel took only 24 days to write The Messiah. The entire invasion of Iraq took place in less than a month. A quarter of the year has slipped past. However, this is what happens when your furniture is made in China. So, right now, our bed is likely sitting in a container in Long Beach. And if there is some ding in the furniture, then we'll be waiting another 13 weeks. So if you're looking to buy furniture, forget what the salespeople tell you. Expect a wait.
