This is a beautiful community center located in Volunteer Park in Plantation. The center has meeting rooms with seating from 10 to 175 people. The main banquet room can seat 50 to 240 people. It has a dance floor and stage and a grand piano can be made available. The center also has a full service kitchen with a convection oven, walk-in cooler, ice machines and commercial warmers. The community center can be rented for weddings and other events. I attend a rummage sale held at the community center that benefited the Plantation Historical Society. Two large rooms were filled with vendors selling books, housewares, clothes, sporting goods, toys, collectibles, and all the usual kind of things you find these second hand item sales. I was able to find a one of a kind fancy feeding station for my dogs that has a crown. It was nice to shop the items and help a worthy organization at the same time. The next event that will be held here is a craft fair to benefit the Plantation Woman's Club on Nov 9 - Nov 10, 2019. read more

I visited Sawgrass Miles Mall and decided to stop off here as it is very close by. Someone had also told me they have some nice walking trails here. After I arrived, I walked towards the equestrian area as I could hear something was happening there. I was delighted as there was a show/competition happening. I spent an hour or so meeting plenty of owners, riders and horses. I love horses and enjoyed my up and close experience with them. I never actually ended up walking the trails, but I will be back. read more

Another huge crazy arts festival at Volunteer Park. Every Saturday they host the farmer's market and garage sale, but today was special. The annual "Not Your Mama's Craft Fair" was in full gear here. I enter the park and literally got the last parking space. Crafty booths everywhere inside and out including the farmer's market and garage fair in progress. My favorite booth was the George & Jackies Blinking Bottles. They placed led lights into empty glass liquor bottles at $20.00 a pop. Also the booth selling the wood boards with funny saying carved into it was my second best. Just a fun filled Saturday finishing up my morning Yelping. read more

This park is constantly hosting events for the whole family. On Saturdays there is a farmers market with cottage food tents with vendors selling their honey, cakes and even homemade doggy treats. Every Wednesday from 5pm to 9pm you can find about twenty food trucks from Mediterranean to BBQ. They also have big grassy areas to roam and several pickleball courts with lots of parking. read more

They have 4 pickleball courts next to some tennis courts. We came across this park when we were supposed to go to the Epic indoor courts but they had a tournament and all the spots were taken. Good parking close by to the court and we were able to dink and play some games. read more

This is one of my favorite parks of all time. I used to come here all the time to get a good workout in and do a 3 mile walk. I also enjoyed when it opened years ago when I was in high school. It was a fun place to come and have a picnic or hang with friends! read more

This (west) Plantation, Fl park sits at corner of Sunrise Blvd. & Flamingo Road. The park rests across Sunrise Blvd. from a Fresh Market grocery. Wednesdays before sunset are great here because of all the food trucks which gather at this time on Wednesdays. There is also a DJ (disk jockey) playing popular music on Wednesdays! I frequent "The Greek" food trucks for Gyros. Gyros from The Greek come in three (3) varieties we were told: ground beef/lamb (1/2 ground beef & 1/2 ground lamb) which version uses Oats instead of breadcrumbs, sliced pork, or sliced chicken. Had a wonderful night at the weekly Wednesday Night Food Truck event. This time I decided to try Wonton on Wheels which is an Asian-Caribbean Fusion food truck that serves wontons and Birria tacos. It was hard to decide between getting the wontons or the tacos but ultimately decided on the tacos and they were amazing. The oxtail was nice and tender and the cheese was warm and melted just right. They also have a nice mint lemonade I would highly recommend. Overall the experiment was fantastic and I can't wait to try them again read more

4.5 stars. The reason being is that the boardwalk was closed for repairs. This park is huge and has a nice paved walking path. Some areas are shaded. There are signs that says watch out for alligators and other wildlife. They have a basketball court and restrooms. There is a picnic area by the restrooms. Now the show stopper, the playground! It's one of the biggest I've seen. They have a big kids and little kids section; plenty of picnic tables and benches. Overall, this is a very nice park! read more

This is easily one of the best parks for kids down in Broward. It's free admission even on weekends and there are several different play areas for kids to choose from. For the parents, there's also plenty of shade and the play areas are adequately covered. On Saturdays, they even have a little market. If you have toddlers, a great way to spend a few hours. read more

Volunteer Park has a community market every Saturday so we ventured here for our weekly Saturday morning run. Thanks to Laser ASMR who made a customized key holder for me and were the ones who told me about this park. I came to pick up my custom piece and take a mile run with my best girlfriend. The trail itself doesn't look like much but is actually quite long when you go over towards the Equestrian park. There's an area around the Community Center and then another area with bridges and trail. Discovering Broward's parks has definitely become a weekend hobby for me and this place was a great discovery. We were able to run into a lot of wildlife including birds, turtles and fish. The trail path winds a lot with many twists and turns so I can't really say how long it runs for. We were able to complete a mile and I don't even think we really covered it all. We'll definitely be back to discover more. The playground is also amazing- big and spacious with an area for all ages. They even have a pavillion in the middle that's ideal for a kid's birthday party. The farmer's market was pretty decent held in their parking lot near the entrance. This is a community park so there is no fee to enter. There were a lot of vendors: from tacos, to fresh juices, produce, orchids, and more! They even had arepas, those golden ones with a cheesey center you usually only find at fairs. The tacos I had from Tacos La Gordita were so good and don't even get me started on the arepa. Might have to come here for more Saturday runs just so I can reward myself by supporting local after. read more

Every Wednesday night they have food trucks, and live music and a belly dancer show. The park has beautiful grounds to walk around. The playground area was huge and looked to be well maintained. Parking was plentiful. I wished there were more benches around, especially because the sunset was beautiful and I wanted to sit and watch. I didnt get to see everything in the park, like the basketball court area, but it was a great place to walk and enjoy a nice evening. read more

Pretty nice park in western Broward County on Sunrise Blvd. It has a large parking lot that that is spread out all around the east side of the park. There are basketball courts on the North side with it's own parking area. There is a large clubhouse that can be rented out for weddings and camp events. In the southern part of the park there are walking paths and horse trails along with a barn to house horses and show pens. The playground is nice with pretty modern slides and climbing apparatuses. On Saturday's they have a farmer's market and through the years it has grown to be quite the market with everything from knick knacks to fresh hot meals. Great for a Saturday picnic. The BBQ smells great! read more

I can walk to this park. The playground for kids is amazing! It is huge with about 6-7 different activity areas for kids ages 1-12 or so. There is a walking trail, tennis courts, basketball courts and party pavilions. My only quip with it is that the trails are really close to the water and well, I am always petrified of alligators! I know, I know, there probably aren't any but I just don't want to be that one random case! OK, therapy session over. It is such a beautiful park that I wish it was patrolled and for locals only. They have the community center right next to it too which can be rented for special events. They also hold fitness classes there on a weekly basis. BEWARE: Although in a very safe residential area, there have been a lot of smash and grabs recently so take all valuables with you. read more

My husband and I were looking around for places to hold our wedding. We wanted something that was in a park, we knew, because of the natural landscape aspect. We narrowed it down to two places that were within our price range: Volunteer Park in Plantation and Tree Tops in Davie. We're SO glad we chose Volunteer Park because, not only was it cheaper, but the staff was INCREDIBLE! From the moment we got there we were given a TON of information about the place and we were taken for tours through all of the rooms they rent out. Also, we were able to tour the park around it, which was really great because we were able to see if there were any good picture spots. This is one of the main reasons we chose this place, because they were just so great and nice every time I had a question. Tree Tops paled in comparison. Not that Tree Tops was bad, but there wasn't as much interaction as the staff provided in Volunteer Park. I was able to come in the week before and set up with all of my decorations and centerpieces, etc. to see how everything would look, which was a GREAT help! Also, they asked us for a layout of the room and we didn't have to set up the tables, dance floor or the chairs at all. It really saved us a lot of time. Also, at the end of the night they helped pick up all the chairs and tables, which, again, was REALLY great! The chairs have been upholstered and so have the rugs. It is a more modern looking venue than at Tree Tops as well. And it is very well kept. The tables are the only thing that are older and more worn-looking. However, those are covered by table cloths, so it doesn't really matter. Best part of the venue is the kitchen. They have a HUGE industrial-sized kitchen with heating ovens, a walk-in freezer, and refrigerators. I mean, it's just awesome. You have use of this portion of the venue as well on the day of your event. I'd love to use this place again as a venue. It's really great and we got some AMAZING pictures from it as well! read more

This is a great city park and community center! I love to walk here. They have a wonderful trail that winds around & through a man-made wetland. There are always birds, turtles and fish to look at while you walk. The park also has tennis courts, basketball courts, an equestrian center, and a large open field where people have picnics, fly kites, exercise, etc. There are always people enjoying this park. The playground is awesome and has a fun Everglades theme! I've taken yoga classes in the community center too. The building is beautiful, well maintained and nicely staffed. I've enjoyed many events at the park and in the community center. Keep an eye out for the weekly farmer's market! read more

This park is absolutely beautiful, and has everything one could want in a park! I've been to a few events in the community center, which have been nice, and there's a farmer's market during the season as well. The park itself is lovely. There's several different playgrounds right near the community center. Each has different features, but they all have top notch equipment and safety features like that bouncy rubber ground to protect your kids from falls. There's even a fountain to run through and cool off an a hot day. For the more athletically inclined, there's tons of basketball and tennis courts and even a horse barn on the edge of the property (it is Plantation Acres, after all). With all these great features, I still have to say my favorite part of this park is the walking trails surrounding the lake. The trail is probably about a mile long, and wends its way through the sawgrass and on wooden bridges over the water. There's plenty of nooks and crannies where you can rest on benches and enjoy the view. For the sharp eyed ones out there, you can usually spot large herons, fish, and even turtles in the lake. If you close your eyes and concentrate, you can almost imagine that you're in the middle of Everglades, it feels that isolated at times. The sunsets from here are just spectacular. Gentlemen, if you're looking for a place for an outdoorsy date, you can't go wrong with a sunset walk along this trail, it's perfect! I'm so thankful this park is so close to where I live! A great place to get some exercise or spend an afternoon. read more

Took my grandson to this park after looking up the location on line and reading the reviews. I was very impressed and he had a great time. We will be back. Nice and clean. A lot of play stations and it even has areas with picnic tables a Birthday party was going on while we were there. Totally awesome place to go and let your kids have fun. read more

Love this park, big and cozy, but there is a lot of fly there , other then that the kids love it and me 2
