The bird is somewhere there... it was gorgeous.

Lovely nature preserve that I never knew existed! So we walked along this path, it's a linear walk - meaning it will be the same way back- but we saw birds and lizards we had not encountered elsewhere in our walks around other Broward parks. That made it special. This little pathway is surrounded by a very popular golf club, so it's funny that because of its location it feels very secluded. Very enjoyable walk- we will be back with some bird seed to get better pictures of birds. Also many turtles in the water under the bridge... absolutely lovely.

Loved it. A short 1.5 mile round trip with trees and grasses that winds through a golf course. It is also perfect for taking an elderly person with a walker or wheelchair because the path is paved. You enter like you are you are going to the golf course. Park on the east side. Walk in to the left of the putting green. It is beautiful short hike.

Such a cute little place for a walk. Very pretty nature and wildlife. Even in the drizzle it was a nice relaxing walk.

Pretty path; not crowded at all!

If you are looking for a beautiful walking trail; this might just be it! It is located inside the Plantation Preserve, (just south of Broward Blvd., a few blocks east of University Drive in Plantation). You can park in the main parking lot near the playground and just follow the trail for a lovely nature walk. You are surrounded by all kinds of Florida plant life on a ride, smoothly paved path. It's good for walking, or bike riding. Many of the trees are labeled and there are a few signs along the way that give the history of the area. If you're a careful observer; you may be lucky enough to see all kinds of wildlife as well: turtles, a variety of birds, geese, & ducks, etc. Just past the borders you have lush green golf course views on each side too. There are a few benches along the way so you can rest, or just sit and observe/chill/relax. I have walked the trail a few times and it has never been too busy. The only disadvantage is that it doesn't go around the golf course, or go in a circular path. It is a winding path that is basically up & back. (The other start/end point is in a residential neighborhood.). Overall it's a nice nature walk without the noise of traffic or even too many people.

Thanks Sue C. for writing a review about this wonderful spot. If you hadn't I would never have known about it. Also thanks to Alex L. for the excellent directions. I was on the wrong trail and headed for a golf ball to the head before I saw your directions. You park at the north end of the trail at Plantation preserve. The south end does not have a parking lot. As Alex says park at the playground and follow the signs to get on the proper trail because there are two side by side. You want to take the one to the right that crosses the bridge. The Linear Trail is a 1.1 mile trail that runs through wetlands between 2 sides of the Plantation Preserve Golf Course. There is water on both sides of the trail. You can run, walk, hike, or bike it. It's even wheelchair accessible which a lot of trails aren't. It ends at a neighborhood at East Tropical Way so when you reach the end you can just turn around and go back. The landscaping is beautiful and there are a lot of benches where you can stop for a rest. There are also a lot of great information signs. My favorite was the one describing how in the 1950's Tequesta artifacts were discovered at the 14th hole of the original golf course. Most of the Tequesta sites have been lost to development. This is a wonderful place to bird watch and you will see the most from December through May. Even though it wasn't bird season I still saw Woodstorks and egrets. I even saw a Flamingo! Look at the wetlands from the bridge just before the trail ends at the south end and you will see a flamingo. I love a nature joke. This trail was a wonderful find. There is easy parking and the view is stunning. Most of the trail is under direct sun so bring water and keep that in mind until the weather cools off. The trail will be even better when the weather cools off and the migrating birds arrive.

A great afternoon walk to clear my head. I love a just long enough walk to make me feel like I've exercised but short enough to see everything. Come for a visit and be with the trees!

Great trail for a medium length walk. Not too short, and not too long. It is a linear trail, not a loop trail, so it's about 1 mile one way or 2 miles round trip. It's a wide and flat asphalt trail surrounded on both sides by native trees and bushes. At times, you can see the golf course through which the trail meanders, but most of the time you're surrounded by plants, birds, and wetland. Many of the plants have identifying signs, which is really helpful! There are benches periodically along the trail too in case you need to rest or just want to stop and enjoy the view. Parking is plentiful in the golf course's lot. Park near the playground for easy access to the trail.

Beautiful nature trail! Today started out with a fantastic fall breeze so immediately I thought of this nature trail....I am so glad I finally got to check it out. Watch out for the golf cart crossing when you first enter. Few spots with park benches. We didn't make it to the end because it started to rain pretty hard halfway through so we ran back towards our car. I can't wait to go back. Great paved path! We saw a few bikers, some runners & a dog walker. Speaking of dog walker..... Couple piles of dog poop so heads up if you walk and don't look down.... We heard some pretty unique bird sounds! Lots of butterflies, & plenty of other wonderful things you would find in nature. Thanks Yelp for pointing this fabulous place out!

The 1.1-mile Linear Park multi-use recreation trail that winds its way through the golf course and wetlands area is a great place for birdwatching. Near what was the 14th Hole, in the western-most part of the golf course, lies a Tequesta Indian Burial mound. Artifacts from the site were excavated in 1975 and sent to the University of Miami for study, but the site is still considered historically significant.

Flat, even, wide asphalt trail all the way. This is definitely ADA accessible.

Nice hidden trail in Plantation running along side a golf course. The parking area is at the main golf course building and the North Trail Head entrance is just East of the playground. Note there's a water fountain in front of the playground. There's 2 paved trails next to each other - take the trail on the right that goes over the bridge. The trail is 1.1 miles, so all the way to the end and back is 2.2 miles. The trail is flat asphalt so great for walking or biking. You are surrounded by green Florida plant life and water canals with lily pads and other aquatic plants with peeks into the golf course between the shrubbery. If you visit in the morning, I'm sure there are more birds. In the late afternoon, I spotted one Snowy White Egret and one squirrel. There are benches to sit and rest throughout the trail - some in shade, others in the sun. At the end of the trail (South Trail Head), there are more benches in a lush green setting - most with shade. I noted a water fountain at the South trail exit but didn't try it out. The history/informational placards throughout the trail are pretty weathered and hard to read, but I was there to do some walking - not reading. I don't think a lot of people know about this trail- I went on 10/2 Saturday at 3:30p and I only say 4 others on the trail (3 bikers, 1 jogger). I just wish this was a longer trail! Also worth noting, there was a restroom sign pointing to the Golf clubhouse, but I didn't check it out.

Oops! Wrong way. I wasn't supposed to walk here. Made a U-turn. Lol.
    Alex P.

So once you enter through 70th Ave, make a left on the round-about and park right next to the playground and look for the Linear Park sign which will lead you to the walking trail. The entrance to the trail is otherwise hidden if you park close to the clubhouse entrance. Trust me. I made the mistake of starting to walk right smack in the middle of the golf course. Almost got hit by a golf ball, lol. The trail is 1.5 miles long ending in a nice neighborhood. Very peaceful. I went on a Saturday morning where there were plenty of golfers playing. I saw fish jumping out of the water, lots of turtles, ducks, birds and many butterflies. Take your bicycles if you want to. Free entrance, free pkg. They have bathrooms and a snack bar in the clubhouse. I didn't use either of them though so I can't comment on them but they're there. Go check it out.

A hidden gem. The previous posts give good directions. I've been down this road several times and never knew this spot existed. There are benches all down the trail, some shade available, and a nice breeze the whole way. The breeze was especially nice, that isn't common on many trails.

Marsh rabbit, with his rounded short ears.
    Luciana P.

The other reviews here perfectly describe the trail. I just wanted to add that there are awesome signs naming the common and scientific names of the plants and trees along the trail. Kept seeing brown rabbits along the path, which I found out is a marsh rabbit. Great place to bird watch too.

I got there as they opened, 8am on the weekends. The course starts on the far end of the park so you get to take in the park on the way there. Ducks and geese love this place. They are all over the place. The lake that takes up the middle of the park is postcard perfect. You can't really blame the birds for liking it. When we play the course it gives you a chance to see alot of the park. The course covers almost everything east to west. One of the really neat things is the burrowing owl really likes this park. They are located at at least 4 spots I have been by. They are unique not just for nesting underground, but that they have alot of attitude. There is one couple of birds that are the 16th tee box who hiss at you while you play. Including the bird encounters, Its a great park, whether disc golfing, or bird spotting.
