I was a customer of Vonnie's Cleaners for 15+ years. I have been an unhappy customer for awhile because of their high prices, feeling nickled and dimed by the owner, and experiencing the owner's not providing good customer service to me. I say this because even though I've been a customer for many years and I frequently took my extra hangers to the cleaners, one time I asked for a few pants hangers because I needed some, and the owner gave me 3 free initially balking at my request. I have decided to vote with my feet and after years of being a customer at Vonnie's Cleaners, I'm taking my money to a new cleaners. Hey, it's pricey, but this guy got CAT PISS out of a leather couch cushion. If you need something specialty done, this is your place. Owner was very up front with the cost estimate and timing for fixing my couch cushion, and I am SO GRATEFUL he got the stanky pee out! Used Vonnie's several times without a problem until.... They lost my dress shirts! They just vanished. Not sure if it was theft or incompetence, but either way I will not be using them again. Lady, who might be the owner, was not very helpful in trying to find them. She showed me the computer that didn't have my record and that was her final word. Way to lose my business... like how you lose shirts. To my shirts, you will be missed. We've done interviews, meetings, and bart rides together. I feel so grown up. I actually take things to get dry cleaned now. Well, OK, it took more than two years after moving out of my parents' house to actually start doing this, but I have taken two items (all by myself!) to this dry cleaners near our 'hood. I was trying to get by without ever having to pay someone to dry clean my clothes, but I ordered this Betsey Johnson dress off eBay that, despite the seller's claims it was from a smoke-free pet-free home, it wasn't from a human-free home and still had kind of a funky scent. Not wanting to risk destroying something I JUST got, off to the dry cleaners I go. Vonnie's has an "organic" dry cleaning sign in the window (what does that really MEAN?) so it made me feel like I wasn't totally destroying the environment. It cost $13.95 for the dress, and when I took my bf's suit in, it also cost $13.95 (for coat and pants together). Having never actually been responsible for my own dry cleaning before, I have no idea if these prices are astronomically high or average. Comparing it to a couple other Web sites I checked out, I'm thinking that this place may run a bit more, but perhaps that's OK assuming they really do have a more environmentally friendly practice. I had Vonnie's replace the lining on my favorite leather motorcycle jacket. The entire lining including the pockets needed to be replaced. They took extra time to find a matching quilted material for the lining that matched the original. It came out fantastic and looks brand new. Not an easy task since leather is so hard. the jacket also had an interior leather pocket trim and a small internal leather pocket which was all reconstructed beautifully. Truly amazing to me. Note: Replacing a lining on a leather coat is not an easy or cheap process. From doing some research, i found that replacing a lining on a leather coat would cost about 150ish. They did mine for $180. read more

The turnaround time on dry cleaning is only a few days but I know if I have travel or some other urgent need, I can get my clothes back very quickly. What sets Vonnie's apart from others dry cleaning services in the area is the customer service. Not only do you get friendly greetings/conversations but the service is on point as well. I have had times where I didn't even notice I had a button missing, small tear in the pocket, or a small stain - these would be fixed without even having to ask my permission. My dad has them do the drycleaning for his business. They always pick up and drop off on time and do a great job at cleaning the garments. I think they do same day dry cleaning for no extra cost. It's located in a shopping center that no one frequents, but has a lot of cool shops like a nice Indian goods store, and yummy City of D'Lights bakery. read more

Great service! Very fast. My fiance and I go to them for our dry cleaning and repairs all the time. They do a great job with our dry cleaning. I had a dress that required minor repairs on the collar. Vonnies took care of it in the same amount of time and they did not charge. They even matched the color of the thread very similar to the original. This is a "green" cleaner. That was not one of my requirements when looking for a cleaner but it still impressed me. I just want the stuff ready in time, done right and a reasonable price. I hate it when a place uses Bait & switch advertising buy omission of information. In the usual flyers that come to my house I kept seeing this deal which said $1.85 per dress shirt with $9 of dry cleaning while some of the other coupons specifically mention something off for a certain amount of dry cleaning and the same for laundry, this one does not say anything about restriction. Well I had a suit that I wanted dry cleaned and they did that for $13.90 and I thought I could dry clean a couple of my dress shirts for $1.85/each but they told me that it was ONLY for laundered shirts which the coupon did NOT specify. Also the lady told me to bring the coupon back and I could use it next time which was even more confusing as she wouldn't let me use it for dry cleaning my shirts this time. This is one of the disadvantages of living in the suburbs versus a big city like San Francisco as there's less competition which means places like this and others like Crystal Cleaners can charge you whatever they want for dry cleaning. They wanted $11.30 for dry cleaning the 2 dress shirts, which is almost $6/shirt and I said hell NO, only having them dry clean my suit. I think that they did an alright job but I'm not impressed by their work or their pricing so I may look around for some place better and cheaper. read more

I cannot believe what an AWESOME job Vonnie's Cleaners did on my husband's Remy leather jacket. Upon returning home from a weekend getaway we discovered that the top had not been secured on a bottle of liquor in the back hatch and it leaked all over his jacket. I took it immediately to another "popular" local cleaners and said they would send it to their leather cleaner. Long story short, when I called to inquire about the status of cleaning a week later they said I hadn't signed the release form...that they TEXTED to my LANDLINE!!! I asked why no one called and they said: "we don't do that." OMG, are you kidding me?!?! So, I checked Yelp for leather cleaners and entrusted the job to Vonnie's. We could not be more pleased with the job they did and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!!! read more

I called to inquire about business hours and the person could not answer the phone properly. She answered and immediately disconnected the line. This should have been a sign of poor customer service. By the fourth and final call, the person who answered said that she hung-up because she was busy with another customer rather than apologizing. I've never had such bad customer service! read more

I used to use Vonnies before, one of the workers there, i think is Latina has very good Service. I brought in a suit and a couple of shirts early morning and requested for a one day service, because I had an interview the following morning. I dealt with the gentleman( i think one of the owners) there and he said he would have out after 4pm the same day. I got there at 5:30.. the two shirts were done nicely, but guess what.. they did not do my Suit. The guy forgot to put in the bin. I was upset but maintained my composure, but really was very upset and told him that I needed this suit done. He said sorry, but guess what - he still wanted me to pay the two shirts. Do you believe that? The latin worker told me that I did not had to pay for it earlier because they made a mistake and a disservice. I ended up ironing and steaming my dirty suit. I will never go there for now. I like one of the latin employees there, but for the owners, they could have even offered me a free suit cleaning for this error on their part. But - NOooo.. You just lost another customer. read more

Is it possible to give a business no stars? Because I would. Was it the fact that I had a number of items dry-cleaned when I specified asked that they only be hemmed and not cleaned the problem? No, that was only strike one. (mind you, they still charged me for the dry-cleaning) Or was the it fact that I had to return 3 separate times before they actually repaired the seams on a shirt? Or was it when I needed a dress in time for a wedding, and they again, didn't not have it ready in time. (i had to return 3 separate times for this item as well). btw-the item was dropped off 2 weeks before the wedding....plenty of time to shorten the dress straps. Or, is it the fact that EVERY time I enter the store I give them my phone number and they rudely insist that I must have used another number on my account? Then of course, they finally agree to look for my account by my last name....and find that they have a typo on my phone number. God forbid anyone of them should actually fix the typo. Rude. My clothes always come back the way I want, and in a timely manner. The prices are consistent with others, and they have very good hours that help with flexible schedules.
