Everything was great with the service until it wasn't. They ruined a pair of brand new slack that I had worn twice. When I picked them up they had a chemical mark the size of a small plum. I didn't realize it until I took them home. When I returned, they basically told me I was lying on them. I've been getting my clothes dry cleaned for years. When you bring something in stained, the first thing they do is point it out and tag it. That didn't happen here because my slacks were perfectly fine when I dropped them off. Decent cleaners but good Lord is it expensive! Thank goodness I got 50% off of my services because of their Yelp check-in coupon. Even still, the price was ridiculous. I brought in two blazers for cleaning, a dress that needed a small section of the hem reattached, and a cardigan that needed the ribbon that closes it sewed on so that it would be secure. I did not need the last two items cleaned, and said so, but found out much too late that they cleaned these (already clean) items, as well. All told, the bill came to almost $40 (I think the 50% off only applied to the cleaning, because the original bill was almost $60). For that price, I should have taken advantage of the free pick up and delivery service. read more

I am not very frequent at the dry cleaners and have one place that I have been going to for years because they take care of my alterations plus dry cleaning. I had this faux fur scarf that I had borrowed from a friend for kid's theatre show and kept forgetting to take it to my regular dry cleaners. I decided to give Harvey's a shot as I was in a pinch and the store is on my way. I dropped in and was greeted by a friendly person, it was super quick. I do not write reviews, however I truly felt compelled to let other people know to stay away from here. I tried this place out for the first time and got 2 jackets dry cleaned for just under $60. I came back one week later to pick up the two jackets and the person working asked if I had already picked one up. I in fact had not and still had my pick up receipt. He informed me that they lost my jacket and did not have a clue where it could be. They keep the door on the side of the building wide open and the employee there told me someone came up right to the side door and stole my jacket. This jacket that was stolen was an rare vintage leather NHL x Coca-Cola jacket. It is impossible to find one for sale online no matter what the price is. I am shocked at the poor attentiveness of this establishment. This is the first time I have taken clothes to a dry cleaner and did not expect one of the two jackets I dropped off to casually be stolen. Please do yourself a favor and take the extra time to drive to the next dry cleaners if you are worried about your clothes being stolen. I will only be back here to ask for my money back and a refund for the $200 I spent on the jacket. read more

Can't believe it's been nine years using Harvey's. They do a superb job on my clothes. Never an item lost or damaged. I live in Livermore and they still pick up my clothes for no charge on Tuesday and Friday mornings and return them on those days as well. The pickup driver is friendly and upbeat and is always careful to hang my cleaning so that it's fresh and amazing every time. I really couldn't ask for more. The pricing may be a bit higher than the cutrate places that send their stuff out but that's fine. Plus, I haven't used anyone else in so long that I'm not the greatest expert in what other places charge. Harvey's is a jewel and I wonder why everyone doesn't go here. read more

Be carful when taking items to them for laundry service. I was charged for dry cleaning services when I specially asked for laundry service.

I used this cleaner 3 times since Jan/2020. First time the gentleman that was there was super nice, I paid for the services, and they delivered the laundered shirts at my work. Second time, the gentleman that was there spoke very little English, which was very challenging to get the service request, but again, charged for the service and delivered at my work. Third time, I called in and they picked up and dropped off at my work - the gentleman that spoke barely any English said they'd charge my card. This was just before SIP and I received a bill later on for all 3 services. Sent proof that I had paid for 2 of the services. Went in to pay for the 3rd service and they had 2 new charges, including one in May/2020, when I didn't take any shirts there. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! If you start mixing client accounts and cannot get charges correctly, it does not work for me. read more

This is a great service for busy people. I run my own business and I end up dropping off my cleaning and leaving it there for several months or forget about it all together. Here I have one less thing to worry about, one less thing to remember (or forget) and they do a great job! I agree with much of what Brian B posted regarding their expertise and quality. I have taken 3 loads for dry-cleaning as well as 3 pieces for alterations. Once you get to know them, the gals that work the front are decent and nice people. That said... Wanted to add a couple caveats. It is on the expensive side. My old cleaner, Family Cleaners in Pleasanton, charged less and did better work, especially on shirts. For reference: - $35 launder king-sz cotton coverlet to pack away for fall. a little steep. - $2 men's shirt, launder, light starch Dry-cleaning: - $14 for 2-piece suit - $7-7.50 unlined cotton pants - $5.85 women's cotton blouse - $7 cotton trench coat Alterations (all are sent off-site): - $14 hem unlined khaki pants - $18 hem sleeves of cotton trench coat One thing I really DON'T like is that they require anything you drop for alterations to be dry-cleaned, even if it is new or not worn. i don't feel that is fair and makes the price of their alterations fairly steep. Also, they do free delivery, but only if you sign up for regular monthly or weekly pickups. They won't do single pickups. Last, they didn't hem my blouse correctly. I asked Harvey for a refund on the $10. I looked on the original receipt they gave me when I dropped it off, and it actually said "Hem to match front" (I had pinned the front). For some reason, the place they send to, took out my pins and redid the entire thing at a different length. Harvey was not willing to refund me a mere $10, to keep me as a customer. My one experience here cost me $300+. I don't think I can afford to take any more chances here. I'll admit, the sari I brought in did not have cleaning instructions (it was handmade in India). I also signed a waiver declaring that I would not hold them responsible for damage done to clothing that did not have instructions or had bead work...or something like that. HOWEVER, is it too much to ask that if an article of clothing had no instructions, more care would be taken to clean it? When I went to go pick it up, the color along the border of the scarf and skirt had bled all over the rest of the sari. I'm not quite sure I understand how this happened. The lady at the counter pointed this out to me, but then she said something to the extent of "the beads could have bled to, but they didn't." Is that supposed to make me feel better? I don't claim to know anything about dry cleaning. I just really wish the $300+ sari wasn't COMPLETELY ruined. Two stars for their honesty in pointing out the problem. read more

Found a good dry cleaner in the area finally, I think I'll stick with it! They don't ruin my clothes or my husband's dress shirts like they have at other dry cleaners. They also don't starch clothing like cardboard. They take care of your items. Brought over my silk dresses and shirts there, no problem. They even pin up my silk belts for my wrap dresses so that I don't lose them. Great service. They have an interesting story of this wedding gown there. I looked at this wedding gown hanging there that looked like it was from early '90's and what happened was that someone dropped off that wedding gown for cleaning and never picked it up. They are still holding onto it so that perhaps the one day the original owner decides to come back to pick it up that it would still be there. Not only do they have great service, they also have a very good heart to keep that gown around for so long. I can't help but to wonder what happened to the person who owned that dress, I'm hoping too in a romantic way, I'll walk in to hear the story that this person finally picked up the dress. read more

The prices seemed a bit steep so left and found a place in Pleasanton that was fantastic! Fast forward to 2013 and my favorite cleaner decides that after 30 years in the business, it's time to retire! The nerve! Thus began my quest to find another dry cleaner. Yelp doesn't have many great things to say about the many of the cleaners in the Tri-Valley, yet I thought I'd revisit Harvey's. They have been around for some time and while I'm not too happy about the prices my clothes come out cleaner than other places I've taken them. The quality of dry cleaning is middle of the road. But watch out for the delivery service dry option. They usually will miss pick-ups or drop-offs frequently - be careful if you need your laundry done within a certain timeframe. They recently delivered the wrong person's clothing to my house. I called them and they said they would come and fix it. They did not. I called them again later that day and they said they would come the next day. They did not. My wife called them the next day and they said they would come and fix it. They did not and still have not. I have someone else's laundry sitting in front of my house all weekend. I dropped off 2 blouses and 2 pant on a Monday to be picked up by the next Wednesday only to get pressed, but the clerk didn't know how to charge me for the service. He suggested to get them washed and reassured me that my pieces will be pressed because it's a standard procedure. On Wednesday I went to pick up my outfits and the pants looked like they were washed and just put on the hangers right after wash. NOT PRESSED! A business is run on equality!! Apparently this place is very much racist! I am an Indian origin and a friend of mine(who is white) had recommended this place for dry cleaning.. So today evening I go here.. i park my car in front of the entrance that said "harveys parking only" However, My hubby msgd and asked me to pick up some afghan bread from across and since they run out of it very quickly, i decided, ill go there first and.thn drop off my dress.. Well 5 minutes later, I put the bread in my car and open the car trunk to get my dress and this old lady comes out and says "are you blind and cannot see the sign" I said.." Maam.... I want to....." She gets closer to me as if about to hit me and says "you freaking people are so illiterate...go back to your country and let us live in peace" And before i could tell her tht I was actually walking in her store, she flicked me off!! Do NOT take your precious garments at this cleaner! I have been coming to this cleaner for some time and they damaged my wife expensive St. Johns garments. When I asked to see the so called owner he did not even acknowledged me. The front people are very rude as well. As soon as I walked in the lady behind the counter seemed inconvenienced by me wanting to use there services. Not friendly at all. I showed her the coupon for first time customers on my phone for 25% off, and she immediately told me it needed to be printed. After her tone and complete disregard to me being a paying customer I chose to not choose Harvey cleaners as my cleaners of choice. Oh and BTW, I work in Camp Parks as an instructor.
