I stopped in this Vons in the morning to pick up some tea, lemons, and a few other items. I found the dandelion tea and the lemons quite readily. I also picked up some chickpea pasta that was on sale. I did notice, as I browsed, that many of the shelves had not been restocked. I'm not a fan of the remodel, because everything got moved around, but the staff is always friendly and can tell me where to find something when I can't. The prices are equitable to other stores in the area, the store is always clean, and the produce is fresh. I recently shopped at this vons and was very disappointed at some of the decisions they have made to alter how people with disabilities access their store. They have instituted a new technology system that will prohibit your cart from entering a certain sections of the parking lot. As I was coming out of the store, my cart was only 5-7 feet away from the store entrance when suddenly the breaks were activated on my cart. I had to leave my cart and go into the store to ask for help. I was told about the new system and was appalled. This was not a system to protect carts from only leaving the parking lot but to prevent carts from going anywhere outside of the YELLOW LINES which limit where you can park your car to buy groceries. As a person with a disability , this is a huge inconvenience and limits my access. This is an outrage and an unintelligent move made by this store. read more

I won't be using this store anymore. As I was driving in the lot there were abandoned shopping carts all over the lot. As I was exiting on my way to my car my cart stopped abruptly. I had a cart full of bags of groceries and my car was not anywhere near me. How am I to get my groceries to my car? I tried carrying all the bags but one broke and items went all over. My cart was blocking cars trying to pass. The whole ordeal was a terrible experience. I understand now they have limited the carts to go only as far as lines on the sidewalk. One woman with about two bags of groceries proceeded with the help of the check out staff to download the Vons App for coupon for a quart of ice cream. Ten minutes later I tried to politely ask them to please move along but they did not even acknowledge request. A manager came by and offered to open another line, by then there were 2 people behind me. Managers checked me out and as I left the other checker and coupon lady were still working on the App. Half of courtesy (and service) is recognizing your surroundings. Have been to this location a handful of times, first visit this year! It is located across from Rohr Park on E Street which turns into Bonita Road in Chula Vista. It is located in a shopping center with McDonald's, Dominios, Rite Aid, Baskin Robbins, A cleaners, florist shop and several other businesses. This location is smaller and a bit on the unremodeled - older side. Havent purchased liquor at the cabinet lately to see if it is still locked with no button or way to call for assistance. In any event this location is clean and while small it is well stocked with Essentials and has a built in Starbucks!! Who doesn't love that! You can check your Vons/Safeway App and more times than not there is a $2 Grande Any Drink coupon available!!! The best part! Staff is friendly, have never had a bad encounter. Have been here during busy times and not so busy times. They do have a couple of self-pay registers available as well. Parking is a bit crammed as Vons shares parking lot with a dozen other retail locations.... but we've never had too much trouble being able to park within a reasonable time. read more

I had a really disappointing experience at Vons. The store was disorganized, and several shelves were empty, making it hard to find what I needed. The customer service was subpar--staff seemed uninterested in helping its just a bunch of teenagers who look like they were found on the streets and asked if they wanted a job. They all seem like best friends always chatting, having a conversation with each other and sometimes they don't stop the conversation only to greet the customer and then go back to their conversation. February 25, 2025 I came in some time in the afternoon maybe between 1-4pm. ------------------------------- The older lady whos on the bigger side, light skin, and hispanic behind the deli counter seriously needs to work on her customer service or get booted if she can't fix her attitude. While I was asking her questions food crumbs were coming out of her mouth as she was giving me attitude. In the beginning I asked how much was an 8 piece of the mixed chickens was and she responded with attitude and that wasn't necessary. Not only that but she would skip around the chicken meat to give me the smallest pieces with little sauce when I would kindly request for something a little bit bigger and more glaze but she would just ignore all my requests and continued to give attitude during the duration I was there. The organics section is pathetic. The floral department is always overwhelming. The Starbucks service sucks (read other reviews). Their approach to managing Covid lines was a shit show. The selection of brand name goods and diversity of choices overall sucks. Where do people find what they want? Is this demographic really all about non-organic processed junk? Do people just go to Albertsons in Spring Valley? Or is it Sprouts in Eastlake? I really don't want to travel too far out but it makes sense if this Vons can't afford to modernize and expand its business. Get it together! I have asked questions related to meat and they act all annoyed, rolling their eyes, and ad if they are thinking "oh my gosh lady look for yourself" if I am asking is because I need assistance finding meat or they need to service it (part of their job duties). No question, this is my favorite Vons. I know the store layout pretty well and can find most things rather efficiently. It's always super clean and tidy, even when the shelves are being restocked. Not just a big, gorgeous supermarket, this Vons has a Wells Fargo Bank and a Starbucks within. Talk about one-stop shopping ! Granted I'm neither a WFB or Charbux fan, but still, many will appreciate the convenience. The deli here is excellent, simply excellent. I wish the bakery was at the same quality level, frankly. I've noticed the grocery shelves are always fully stocked and perfectly faced whenever I visit, an indication of great management. Be advised, though, the prices at this store reflect the expensive real estate surrounding it. Buying the store brand helps mitigate cost, though. Look for Signature, Lucerne, Organics, and others. Parking is super easy, although the parking lot gets congested due to the number of stores it serves. Speaking of the lot, it contains a Mission Fed ATM, and it's popular. Just had a very unpleasant encounter at Starbucks. Didn't catch her name but there was only 2 right now in am. It was about 945 4/5/21 Girl that helped me looked very easily annoyed and was not helping me. The deli counter staff is the worst! They are always rude and even when there is only 1 customer it takes a while to get service. They are chatting and laughing while customers stand and wait to get their attention. I wanted 4 items and after the first item I received she turned and walked away. So there I am trying to get her attention AGAIN. I would buy more but your Vons staff is too lazy to help out customers. I'm giving them 3 stars because I like the actual store and it's clean. I was very impressed with this business establishment. From the very moment I walked in, my family was greeted with a smile and a genuine hello. The employees here were so kind and friendly. You can tell that there are good people who work here. They take pride in their jobs and serving customers. I have been here multiple times and have never had a bad experience. Vons Deli department is way too slow. Always only one person working serving hot food, cutting cheese and meat. That same person is incharge of the rotisserie chicken.
