I ordered from the Vons bakery for my friends engagement. First of all when I called the lady was so rude and had an attitude. I asked if I can customize my cake online and she said yes and to call to confirm after. So I did as she said. To Whom It May Concern, On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m., I visited Vons #2688 at 6170 Hamner Ave, Mira Loma, CA, to purchase flowers and champagne for my third wedding anniversary. Due to my work schedule and raising two young children, this was my only opportunity to make the purchase. I specifically chose this location because I've always been impressed by the quality and freshness of your floral arrangements. However, my experience this visit was disappointing. When I asked an employee in the floral section, Alicia, for help arranging two bouquets and selecting a vase, she told me she was "too busy putting away supplies" and could not assist. When I asked about flower food, she initially ignored me and then responded dismissively. Shortly after, Alicia called out that I needed to check out with her, which I declined, choosing instead to pay at the register with Cynthia, who was professional and pleasant. As I left, Alicia sarcastically said, "Have a nice day, sir." I then noticed her assisting another customer with a bouquet and balloons--the type of service she had refused to provide me. I spoke with a manager at the front desk, a young man who apologized and offered to help with the arrangement himself. While I appreciated his professionalism, the encounter with Alicia left me frustrated and embarrassed, especially when she gave me a "snarky" look in front of staff and customers. The manager assured me he would address the issue, but the damage to my shopping experience had already been done. I left the store deeply disappointed. I asked if they had at least a nice basket so I got the basket to do myself. Vons bakery does it again! Their designers will accommodate your requests and they are surprisingly affordable and delicious. This time I ordered cupcakes for my mom's birthday celebration. They made stuffed cup cakes with lemon filling and a buttercream frosting swirl on top and even cut the fresh lemon decor and put them on the side for me to place on top. I got the cupcake sleeves from Amazon to match our Italian Almafi Coast theme. Everything turned out beautifully and everyone loved the tablescape and the delicious cupcakes. In todays society we are seeing a lack of civility and professionalism when engaging our fellow Americans. It appears everyone is too busy to extend a nicety or do their job to the best of their ability; therefore it's welcoming and a wonderful feeling to be treated with kindness and served with pride when entering the Eastvale Vons. As a business major and one who has worked in management, I am thankful to those above Marilyn for fostering an organizational culture that shows in her workplace demeanor and clearly trickles down to her subordinates as each member I have encountered shares a similar attitude. Fellow consumers, please be mindful that the service industry is not an easy sector. Why would you guys have an employee like Shannon that works in the deli? I came in at 7pm to get deli meat and cheeses and Shannon told me they are not going to help me and that they closed early. I asked her why because there are 2 employees back there and she said very rudely. WE'RE CLOSED AND MY NAME IS SHANNON IF YOU WANT TO GO COMPLAIN!! Horrible experience around evening time yesterday. I came with my immigrant asian parents to buy groceries. They went to the self checkout, they weren't aware it was 15 or less. They already scanned through everything already and this worker with blond curly hair came over with a passive aggressive tone saying it's 15 or less and that there's a sign. My mom and dad kindly apologizes and the lady gave us a stank face and stared at us watching my dad put his card in, making it seem like we didn't have money or weren't going to pay. It was so uncomfortable, she went back and I could hear her and another worker talking bad about my parents. Vons bakery: I am trying to understand why the bakers started working on my pre ordered cake at the time it was supposed to be ready. I waited 1 hour for them to finish my cake that should have been ready at 9am when I requested. Multiple people came out and kept telling me "She's almost done, 15 more minutes", when the cake should have been ready at the time I requested for pick up. Because of the delay, I was 30 minutes late to the celebration that the cake was requested for. At 945 I finally watched another baker jump in and help the other to finish the cake. The writing on it was very sloppy and very clearly done in 5 minutes. Next time if you do not feel that you would finish a cake on time, tell us to take our business elsewhere. Want to say a huge thanks to Jacqueline, who has provided me one of my best shopping experiences, at VONS in Eastvale, CA. I intended to use my digital coupon to get $5 off $50 purchase. So I shopped and shopped and accumulated enough goods to hit the $50 mark. I scanned all the items and, voila, the total was $51.36. Wait...I was supposed to see $5 deducted from the total. Nope, didn't happen. So I called for service and Jacqueline came to help. It turned out that I had entered my previous phone number. Consequently, the digital coupon wasn't there. If I want to use that $5 coupon, I have to void all the items, enter my current phone number and rescan all the items. I was totally disheartened and capitulated to the thought of scanning tens of items again. Then Jacqueline came to rescue. First she listened to my explanation, and she would not let a customer having a dispirited shopping experience, even if it was a self-inflicted error. Very professionally and graciously, she was able to do the magic and provided me with the $5 discount. She also showed me the scanning function in the VONS app. Kudos to you, Jacqueline!
