I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this pharmacy. Someone at this store removed my active insurance from their system without my knowledge, and I have been inappropriately overcharged for my medications even when the online listing clearly showed a "price with insurance." I cannot imagine how much extra I have paid over time (TBD). I am 46 years old and have never had a pharmacy remove active insurance and overcharge me like this (stating it was removed by a tech because I asked to use a coupon card at some point in addition to my PPO insurance, which makes NO SENSE). I have reported this issue to corporate and will be fighting for retroactive billing and reimbursement. Next day update- Went today to get my medications while waiting for everything to be switched to Vons and they AGAIN removed my insurance from file (after updating it AGAIN last night!). If I had to base my experience on Thursday April 9th 2026 the Pharmacy would get a - 5 star rating but when I had to return on Friday morning April 10th at 9:00 AM and explained to the Pharmacist what had happened the night before she said give 5 Minutes and I will fill it right now. WORST EVER! This Walgreens Pharmacy is the worst ever! I had catarct surgery last month, went through HELL with Walgreens, and I have surgery in 2 days, needed the eye drops last week..... I have been on the phone, on hold for hours, repeatedly....... I HAD to start the drops today, all day, nothing yet. Today, their rude employee HUNG UP ON ME. Walgreens has to go out of business. I rarely need medication. This is ABUSING and NEGLECTING clients. Eye surgery is scary. One does not want to go without the necessary prescribed eye drops. Walgreens should get rid of bad employees. My Insurance Company tried phoning Walgreens and kept hearing repeatedly that they were caller #3, for a very long time, until they finally hung up, and said that Walgreens needed to call them. This review is only in reference to the pharmacy and lack of organization and not about anyone being rude. I've been waiting over a week for a prescription to be filled. I understand prescriptions can't be filled immediately, but waiting 8 days? I also chose Walgreens instead of Walmart for the convenience of picking up my RX in the drive-thru, but it is permanently closed with a sign that says "come in". Worst pharmacy I've ever gone too. Waited on phone for 1 hour 50 minutes before it disconnected me. Tried the automated on phone and it said my prescription was in progress. Then it continued that it was ready. Drove out there and was told that their automated system is not accurate, and that my prescription was not ready. There is a young man by the name of Aiden that works the front cashier register and the most amazing thing he did for me two weeks ago was he went out of his way to come help me at the photo department to show me how to run it to make a copy And he printed it all up for me so I just wanna say this that young man is amazing because he's definitely old-school customer service and what I mean by that is there's not a lot of people like him. The pharmacy at this Walgreens is terrible. I have medication prescribed by my dentist, went to go pick it up since I was notified it was filled, and I unfortunately got to the window when they go to lunch. I told them my medications were filled and I'm just picking up so it would be quick yet she refused. ALL OF THEM GO TO LUNCH AT ONCE? What kind of operation is this. Usually you have a rotation for those to go on their lunch break and have someone still working but they ALL go to lunch. I live in 29 Palms so when she said to come back when they're back from lunch I told her I live in 29 Palms. Walgreens is located in Yucca Valley, there's no point driving back and forth. Lastly, this bald black mixed pharmacists was making passive remarks to his fellow employee that "I should get a T-shirt that says pharmacist off duty, no meds for you". Somebody help us up here. With Rite Aid already shut down (at least in terms of pharmacy service), Walgreens is completely overwhelmed. Sick and frustrated people are being asked to leave only to return day after to find it was a "silly mistake." How can it possibly take more than 8 hours for High Desert to call in a prescription. My friend's nurse practitioner is on permanent hold for the pharmacist since the workers keep saying it hasn't been approved. We are in some real trouble here and we need help. Like every pharmacy I have tried since moving to the area, after I transferred all my prescriptions to them, they began to mislead me with when scripts would be ready and when they would be available to pick up. The one star is for all the wasted trips (almost 1hour each way) when I was told it was ready and wasn't ready and was told if the app says it's done, it's done, but that didn't even turn out to be true either! First and last time using this pharmacy. First, it took three trips (1.5 hours total driving) over 24 hours to pick up a completed prescription which was called in hours in advance. This is more of a review of the Walgreens corporate choices than it is of the local Walgreens. Every Walgreens I go to, the staff is working their behinds off dealing with angry customers. My review is strictly for the pharmacy at this location. I'll keep it short, GO ELSEWHERE! It can take up to a week to get your prescriptions. Our physician called in scripts Tuesday am and Friday at 9:45am still not ready, I'm not joking here. Always an excuse, always slow service, sometimes pharmacy opens at 9:45-10am and sometimes the pharmacy doesn't bother to open at all so you never know what to expect until you show up. First of all as a reviewer I must apologize to Walgreens and the people in the pharmacy lobby as my patience ran out. I threw a stink because after waiting 40 minutes in line I had enough of the woman customer who was holding everything up trying to score one pain pill. My husband is ill and on top of that just got shingles. He needed his shingles meds and it was Saturday night at 5:40 and you close at 6:00. I just hope that Pharmacist Assistant X learns to see the difference between real pain and the manipulation of one out of towner. She justified her actions like she was a doctor defending why someone needs a pain pill. I'm sure some Hippa Laws were broken by her too. If the customer was in that much pain she should have been at the ER. I love Walgreens. I use a different pharmacy but the store itself has been my main drug store for the past 6 years. I wanted to give this pharmacy a couple of chances before giving them a bad review but they clearly have NO interest in keeping customers happy. I have had four recent prescriptions sent to Walgreens... not one was filled without a problem and when I call the attitude is one of complete disregard. Two others were hard to get and Walgreens said they were out, no idea when or if they could get my prescription filled and would not attempt to help me get them. Rite Aid, on the other hand, had those two prescriptions ready in under an hour. They pick up the phone whenever I call, they are cheerful, and they go out of their way to help. I've had three prescriptions filled by this Walgreens with no problems whatsoever. Pharmacy employees have gone out of their way to assist me in figuring out my prescription coverage which I felt was very kind. There's an option to get a text alerting you when your prescription is ready for pick up which is incredibly convenient. Maybe I'm going at slow times during the day but I've never had a lengthy wait either. Are the one star folks going to the same location? This Walgreens is also where I pick up packages shipped via FedEx (since FedEx won't deliver to a post office box and I don't have control over what shipping service companies use). That's another convenient service which makes my life easier. The store itself is clean, employees are friendly, and there's lots of parking. read more

So idk what to say about this because my other experiences with this store have been great, 5 star. Today I had the misfortune of speaking to the nastiest rudest, most blatantly misogynistic man I've encountered in my entire life. Pharmacist, Steve Tang. They have been out of my medication for the 2 weeks and now I'm almost out. So I called for some help getting it filled at a pharmacy I can get to while I'm out of town. He wouldn't transfer it and told me that if I disagreed with him he would hang up on me. Do they can't fill it won't transfer it and he doesn't care. He called me a liar he spoke down to me in the most what I say is law, I'm a man you do what i say attitude. He refused to listen or even try to help with a simple request, and i don't know how to get my medication. It was the worst interaction with anyone who was supposed to be a professional. I feel bad for women who work with him because it was obvious af that he has a disturbing power trip thing. I forsee lawsuits I'm his future, and I'm disturbed to see this level of sexism being allowed in a national retailer, especially when the rest of the staff is fantastic. read more

I'm in the area for my wedding and my migraine medicine is at my home in LA, so of course I got a migraine and needed to have my doctor call in a refill. Let me tell you about how the employees here went the extra mile. When my partner showed up 5 minutes after the pharmacy had closed, the manager of the store listened to his predicament and he was able to leave with my Rx in hand. My other medicine was delayed and it was too soon for insurance to cover the refill, but the pharmacist called me and said she'd try to get it sorted out. Long story short, I received my medicine with a handwritten note apologizing for not being able to get insurance to cover it. This level of compassionate service is really beyond valuable to me as someone with a chronic illness. The pharmacy staff here literally saved my wedding! I have picked up the same prescription monthly for almost 6 months here. Not a single time was it ever there and ready. Not a single time did they call me to say they received it. Not a single call to say we dont have it, we need a few days. But they DO tell me when i show up, I should have called. When I call they DO say, you didnt show up so we pulled it. They dont say it will be ready in an hour or two, they say they dont know. Today? I dont know we are busy sorry. They have had partial ready and said they cant fill as they dont have enough and were waiting for me to call to figure out what I wanted to do. Man, I know things are tough for all businesses, I don't mind waiting or hiccups, but communication is golden. Just apologize and tell me whats next and how it will be better next time. I have a long history with Walgreens as a company and have used them for many years with no problems at all. This is why I decided to try this pharmacy anyway despite the warning of my friend. She had experienced medication errors which could have killed her had she not spotted them. She and I are both healthcare professionals. I also had a prescription filling error - minor but the pharmacy was not willing to correct it - they simply made it my problem. They also did nothing about an insurance refusal to fill a med I had been on for years, and told me it was my problem and not their job, as their job was simply to dispense pills. When I called the Walgreens in Palm Desert, they immediately faxed the necessary form to my doctor. Pharmacists are supposed to be important members of the healthcare team. This pharmacy has employees who apparently missed that concept. I will not deal with them again. I will strongly advise my patients to avoid going there. In short, run away. I usually don't have a problem when dealing with their pharmacy. I'm usually in and out with no hassle. Recently, I went to return a prescription that I didn't end up taking since the issue it was prescribed for resolved on its own. I figured why let this Rx sit around and why not get my money back? I did not know when returning Rx's, you need to return them within 7 days and have the receipt and leaflet that comes with the Rx. No where did I read that on their receipt nor is it on the leaflet. One of the techs (who had no name badge on so I can't identify her) explained to me and seemed to emphasize in an almost rude/annoyed way that I needed the leaflet and that I had purchased the Rx 10 days before. Oops, had I known that way before, I would've returned the Rx before the 7 days were up along with the leaflet. She repeated it over and over as if I didn't understand what she was saying. She then said I was lucky that the "floater manager" was there since he made an exception. I was thankful for that, but the way she explained it was in a way as if "you're lucky he was here, otherwise I would've refused your refund." I'm not one of these people who gets belligerent and bitchy if things don't go my way, however I was almost going to go off on this lady but I refused to stoop to her level. I didn't ask for a manager or anything. I'm thankful they were able to refund my money even though I didn't have the leaflet and I was way past the 7 days. Finally, blondie comes to the window and wants to argue about what prescription we're picking up. It's noisy outside, and she has this tiny voice. I repeated. Why did I ever put my prescriptions through Walgreen's? WHY!? I will start my story with two weeks ago when I got a script for Norco. I have a broken finger, required surgery and pins. I got an automated notice that Medi-Cal had a problem with my prescription. From previous experience, I knew I had to follow up with the pharmacy staff myself otherwise they would let it hang in universe to the end of time. I called and asked them if they needed to call Medi-Cal and remind them that I needed it from surgery. The pharmacist replied, "No, not really." I was notified via Walgreens Voicemail that my prescription was ready. I arrived and discovered it was actually rejected. A woman attempted to help me but couldn't figure out what happened or whose initials were on my order. I walked out as she and another pharmacist went back and forth on who that employee could be. I called to speak to the supervisor and put in for another push on the pain meds, knowing my pins and cast were coming off in one week. A few days later, I received a letter from Medi-Cal stating that it was rejected because my "Back pain was unspecified." So I called to get strong with someone and ended up with someone who was new, from Indiana, who handled things professionally and faxed it into Medi-Cal. She knew now that the next day my pins and cast were coming off. 24 hours later, nothing from Walgreens. I stopped in and was helped by someone else, who had trouble focusing on helping me because her co-workers were giggling and pulling her away to tell her that HER prescription was rejected. I repeatedly asked for her focus but was ignored until told I could pay out of pocket or wait until Medi-Cal reviewed my prescription. I am on disability and can not afford anything out of pocket. So she shrugged her shoulders and coldly dismissed my case. After this, I am never going to them for another script again. read more
