After changing my regular store to either the other Vons on Balboa or Ralph's in LJV, I decided to give this another try. My bad. Not a single bit of eye contact, smile or greeting from absolutely anyone as I went through the store doing my shopping. Actually cut it short and will finish the big shopping at the aforementioned stores. To make it worse,this time, there are a lot of Vons shopper carts whipping through the aisles again without consideration for real shoppers and whether they need to use the aisle too. At least they were polite and considerate. NOT. Unfortunately I went through self-check so I missed the only friendliness and professionalism in the store - the checkers. Nothing says we don't care about our customers than the lack of professionalism courtesy and friendliness in this store. Horrible ambiance. What a shame. read more

Staff is friendly and helpful. There is plenty of parking. They are rarely out of product unless it is a free item on the Vons app, but I would expect this. They store is relatively clean. They have some products locked up per company policy but I skip those items and get them online or at other stores to avoid the hassle. The staff does not seem to be a fan of this policy either for what its worth. I rarely need help, but when I ask, the staff will often stop what they are doing to assist. They offer self check out as well as standard check out lines. A great bakery, deli and produce section and they offer daily made sushi as well. The staff mostly seems to care about how the store looks and they seem to enjoy working with one another. read more

This is the Vons in the big shopping center off Clairmont Drive. It's the same center as Chiles, Outback, and Nordstrom's Rack. BIG TIP! This is a better run, more appealing place to shop for groceries than the similarly sized Vons on Balboa Ave near the Genesee intersection. The people who run the place are a lot friendlier and definitely more helpful than the workers at the Balboa Ave store. And if you shop regularly, I think it's worth driving a little farther for a better store. read more

Nothing is more frustrating than to use the self check out. And you need help cause you wanna buy two ears of corn and it won't let you without help. And no help is there. To combat shrink and theft at this location, they just installed these locked cabinets in most of their aisles, and you can't touch your items until they're at the register. I think corporate sends the worst employees to this location because they can't fire them. It's the last resort for these idiots.. I like this location but they didn't have the milk my mom drinks but ended up picking some items for a get together before leaving San Diego. We managed to pick up some bananas, plates, forks, etc. No mask required here but I would say half of the people wear masks and half don't. I was the one who wore a mask. You never know nowadays. This vons is good. Nothing crazy to brag about. It's my local grocery store. They are out of rotisserie chicken sometimes and occasionally the isles aren't stocked. The ice cream isle never seems to be stocked or maybe i'm going on the wrong days. Other than that parking is somewhat easy. The bathrooms are clean half of the time. The cashiers are pretty nice. The people at the help desk are usually in a good mood. The pastries in the bakery are hit or miss. And so are the foods in the ready to eat section with the spicy fried chicken and mac n cheese. read more

I usually go to the vons in north park because it is closer to me but decided to stop by this location because I was hungry and usually love the sandwiches from the deli. I am so disappointed and dissatisfied. I asked for a toasted grilled chicken sandwich on wheat bread and they told me they didn't have wheat bread when it was literally right in front of me!! But whatever I got a different bread and asked for my sandwich to be toasted, they put it into the oven for like 2 seconds and then continued to build it when I got into my car I go to take a bite and the sandwich is literally freezing!!! By far the rudest people I have ever met. I went to the store during the busy time, but I waited patiently at the Customer Service counter for someone to help me. I was looking for Basabe. When the self checkout person came to the counter, I asked her and she said I don't know I'm busy I'm helping someone else. So I waited and then she told me go look at the sushi area so I went to look and then I came back and said I couldn't find it there FaceTime Jeep and tell me and she punched me up on somebody you said we don't have any.
