    Pickle pizza

I really like this Voodoo location. It's become our favorite dinner stop on our way to the lake we visit in the summertime. The taproom has a cozy and welcoming feel and the bartenders match that energy. The beer taps are inside of upcycled retro refrigerators which is a really cool aesthetic. You probably already know they have great beer (my favorite is the Belgian style Voodoo Love Child), but this review is mostly about the food! I finally tried their popular pickle pizza which was sooo delicious and full of flavor. It has a garlic pesto spread and extra dill. I also love that they have three different types of mussels on the menu which are all excellent. Highly recommend this place if you find yourself in Meadville.

Big Brown Ale, heck yeah! One of my faves and have had it many times at Homestead location. This original location in Meadville is super close to my parents house in Conneaut Lake. First time getting to stop in because it's always hectic when up there for a visit. Shared a flight between four of us and of course the pours were delish. I like this place a lot. The pours are some of the best around. Decor is spot on. I've always been a huge fan of repurposing, shabby chic, rustic and it's perfect. Pretty decent crowd when we were there Xmas Eve early afternoon and I imagine it gets crazy during tourist season and when college is in session as Allegheny College is just a hop, skip and jump away. Two thumbs up!

Ok, I'm sort of a big city girl who moved to a small city place. Wow did Vodoo bring the big city vibes! The decor, exposed brick, cool lights, old doors hanging from the ceiling. Huge beer list written out in chalk as is the food menu. Now let me say i fell in love on a Wednesday at 3pm. No food options available. 4 dudes inside. Mellow music playing but it just has that vibe that you know it's a cool place. I can't wait to check it out on a Friday or Saturday! As for what i drank, it's called Vibrant Thing, and it's the perfect name. 7.1% glass of heaven. Apricot rules this pale ale. I can see me slurping this on a hot sunny day. Simply delicious and delightful! Glad i got a job in Meadville and discovered Vodoo. We are going to be great friends (: Oh and a shout out to Kate, the bartender. So helpful, so friendly, so informative. She made the experience that much better! the end.

We visited Voodoo on a road trip last year and it's definitely not the sort of place you'd expect in this town. The beer was pretty good and the brewery is very laid back. We were disappointed that they didn't have food, but it's a good place to grab a drink and relax.

Great little brewery with a great selection of beers. Quaint, great place to grab a beer and socialize. They serve pizzas due to covid restrictions, menu is pretty limited. Great service!

This should be rated 5 stars because of the amazing beer they have to offer and if it didn't include the food it would have been a solid 5. The atmosphere is rustic, retro, hipster, feng shui... Pick your adjective! Such a great feel to a place that is serving TOP NOTCH brews to a population of only a touch over 13k people. Yes, you read that right! A town this size serving brews that are rated amongst the top ten in all of the Keystone State! This place deserves a special visit to even if you're not from the area. We became such insta fans that we have discovered they have three locations, plus another that just opened at Pittsburgh International Airport. We hope that means we'll be able to buy their beers in Chicago soon!!! Fingers crossed. Hope you stop and enjoy amazing beer at this rare find!

    Winona's Big Brown Ale

I cannot allow myself to say "how can such a cool place be located in Meadville?" But I really want to say that. But then, maybe if it wasn't located in Meadville it wouldn't be what it is. And obviously the owners had reason to open it there. Honestly, it's probably out of jealousy it's not located in Pittsburgh. One reason to come back up to Meadville again (I guess family counts too:). I walked in and was immediately blown away. Such a cool design! It's bigger than I thought, but also seemed very cozy inside. It probably had something to do with the real wood burning stove in the corner. Or the wooden tables that looked like they were crafted by hand. And the coolest thing (not including the beer)... all the old wooden doors on the ceiling. I just love quirky accents! But, did the beer match the cool aesthetic? It certainly did! I had the Winona's Big Brown Ale and thought it was excellent. I love brown malted beers and the hint of chocolate added to the flavor. But what I thought was really great was the mimosa/beer drink they served. I kinda scoffed at it, but then had a taste of a friends and it was excellent! I would definitely order one when I stop in again. Hopefully when I come back to try the food!

    Meatball sub and stuffed bulbs

A little on the hipster side, but I dig it. Stopped by on my way back from Erie with a friend to give it a try. We shared a sampler to see what we liked, there is a nice mix of beers for all tastes. Bartenders were friendly and happy to share their knowledge. The place is not too small but not too big, either. It was busy while we were there and I can definitely see this place getting crowded. The food made here is so fresh and unique that they don't even print menus because it changes so frequently. We were told to read the wall around the kitchen window if we wanted to eat. Food is ordered directly from the kitchen. We ordered the meatball sub and stuffed (onion) bulbs. Both were delicious. The menu is simple but like the beer has something for all tastes. Random note: I may have been a little buzzed, I'll admit....but it took me a little while to figure out the sinks in the bathroom.

Love this little bar in this little town. I want them to open one in LA!! I love their decor, from their colorful blackboard menu to their hanging doors and wine barrel furniture. Plus, their selection of drinks and food is reminiscent to any hip bar in Los Angeles, where I'm from. They not only serve wine and beer, but they serve coffee and tea, and even milkshakes and beer floats. Although we didn't try their food, they had a very promising and delicious-sounding menu. Next time I visit the mother in law, we'll be back!

While I was waiting for my food the bartender said to call in my orders instead of online ordering with door dash because the prices are better. I really appreciated her advice. So much so we ordered takeout again the following evening. We got the Outlaw burger and fries, the Cuban, and some fried pickles. Everything was really good. The Cuban was really big, I could only eat half. My boyfriend said his burger was a little more pink in the middle than he prefers but that it was still good. Next time I'm home visiting him, we will definitely be back. The portions are decent. Prices are a little bit higher than expected but the staff and food make it worth it to me. I know stuff costs more now so with that in mind too, I realize businesses have to adjust. It's worth checking out if you're in the Meadville area.

You might see someone you had forgotten about and end up having a really good night reminiscing, or you may be unlucky and have an old nemesis sit down right next to you. At Chippers I've experienced both. Overall its not a bad setup. Two big screen TVs behind the bar, a jukebox with the usual bar assortment, and two lofts, one for just sitting and the other with a pool table. Take note that if you don't like cigarette smoke then you will probably hate it here. It seems like EVERYONE is blowing out more smoke than the Clariton Cokeworks. Prices are good. $1.25 for a 12oz draft and 2.50 for a well mix drink. I'm kinda thinking that they pour the mixed drinks a little weak, either that or I've built a ridiculous tolerance, cause I had quite a few and wasn't really feeling it. Chippers also has one of the larger bottled beer selections in Meadville. The wings are good if you are feeling food, otherwise I haven't tried anything on the menu.

This brewing company really has its act together. They are expanding with brewery locations and also retail like my local Walmart. Check out their web site. The two varieties available to me are Voodoo Ranger Tropic Force and Juice Force. See my picture. These are high ABV brews. How high you ask? How about 9.5%! Yowzah! Full price at my local Walmart is $11 and change a 6-pack. This is not an inexpensive beer. Currently, as I type this, they are on sale at $7 and change and no, I dd not fill my garage with cases! Be responsible! You don't guzzle these fine beers down like fraternity brothers at a keg party. If you are new to high APV beers, remember, Uber is your friend! You can't go wrong with the 1/2 lb. burgers, which are offered in many different varieties. (Ranging from traditional, to Caribbean, to slathered in peanut butter.) Expect standard bar fare that is prepared well, especially fries and wings. Drink choices are fairly robust, especially for the beers on tab. They tend to be an eclectic mix with a fallback to Bud Light/Miller Lite/ Coors Lite. Mixed drinks tend to be on the strong side, or, if you're a blatant optimist like me, "better value". The atmosphere is strange, and weighs heavily on the other patrons currently in the bar. The bar is smaller, leading to a more intimate atmosphere with your fellow bar-goers. (meaning conversations tend to overlap, and everyone is in everyone else's business.) Fortunately, if things get too strange, you can just go next door to Julian's for some (relative) peace and quiet.
