They had Bold Rock on tap. Sold just on that! We had a baby shower there and the dining area was nice and spacious. They have outdoor seating but a bit chilly that day. Had some apps including the nachos and crab dip. Crab dip with the pub chips was amazing! I took the rest of the crab dip home to eat the next day. And it was even good cold (I'm weird. I know). I also had a slice of the Margherita pizza which was really good. Nice thin crust. The nachos were not my favorite. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger with fries. It was massive! You could tell ot was a homemade patty. It was so good. I was disappointed in the fries but I have had pub chips at other places and they were all bad so I was leary of these. But when I tasted the ones with the crab dip that the host ordered for the table, omg, I will be getting those pub chips again. The service was great. Everyone was so nice and the (i think) manager was very welcoming and accommodating for our little party. I will be back. Food and beer were good. However, the service was lacking. The wait staff (food runners really) informed us that the only way to order food or drink was through the app or at the bar. The only time we saw or spoke to wait staff was to inform us how to order, deliver our meal and clear a plate or two. Yet they still ask for tip in the app? The wait staff spent more time talking with each other than engaging with any of the customers. Your method of using only the app is a disservice to your customers and to your wait staff. Their tips have to reflect the lack of service of any kind. I was happy to over tip the bartenders for the tab I opened with them as they were attentive, helpful and friendly. read more

Popped in on a busy Saturday evening. Found a table but had to wait a good bit before it got cleaned off from the group before us. Really enjoyed the guest tap selection, especially the beenut butter brown ale! The pizza just okay- not my favorite. This was our second time in and the first time we ordered chips and cheese dip which we also were not big fans of. Might have to try the burger next time but so far have not been impressed by the food. The staff were friendly, the live music was nice once they got started! I've been waiting to visit this new kid on the block. Voodoo brewing is checking lots of blocks as a great brewery. The selection of beers is actually quite impressive. What I enjoyed most was that they have lots of visiting team beers to choose from. Interestingly my go to brews are stouts and porters and they had a lot. Happy to say the home team brews were my favorite. I also liked that they have house crafted cocktails available. The food menus had some knock out choices, I particularly liked the triple platter. Although I didn't try it the pizza menu looked very interesting. They have only been open a few weeks and lunch time was a little slow but it was a Monday. Wait staff were on their game and the place was clean. My only detraction is that the vibe and atmosphere was a bit rushed. I felt the creativity in the food and beer but not the establishment decor. Don't let that stop you from enjoying the fine brews here though. read more

Disclaimer- we went during their soft opening. There's a fenced off heated outside area around the main entrance. Inside there are long high top bench tables spanning the length of the dining room. There are smaller tables by the windows and along the wall. Long bar down one wall. Ordering is by QR code from your table or you can order from the bar. I don't really drink (Asian alcohol flush) so I was pleasantly surprised that the food was so good. We got the crab dip appetizer. Our food runner said it was his favorite thing on the menu. It came with pub chips- thick cut, house made, seasoned potato chips. The dip had a yummy crab flavor and it was a nice soft spreadable texture. It was easily scooped with the chips. It was a very generous portion. I got the flounder sandwich. I upgraded from pub chips to French fries. They came crisp and lightly seasoned. I asked for the jalapeño slaw on the side. My sandwich had a soft, lightly toasted brioche bun. There were 4 bread-n-butter house pickles. There were several pieces of flounder piled on my sandwich. They were delicate with the lightest of batter coating. It was so delicious. My partner got the 3B burger- bacon, blue cheese, and blackened. It came with pub chips. He's a man of few words but he said it was "good and I'd order it again." You can customize a flight of beers to try and he said that he liked all four that he tried. We'll definitely be back. We really wanted to like Voodoo Brewing but our visit was a low point on our vacation here in VB. We dropped by on a Monday at 3:30 to have a couple of beers and some food. We were the only customers besides a small group that was in the process of paying the bill and leaving. One of the owners greeted us and got us a couple of samples of beer. Great start!! But then it went downhill. We had to order using the QR code. I hate those things but we're used to them by now. We placed our orders and waited. And waited. I finally went to the bar to see if we could get the beers there. No one was at the bar. There were 2 owners and around 5 other people working there. A 2 to 7 customer/employee ratio. You would think a beer place could get a couple of beers served in less than a half hour? That's how long it took!! We seriously debated just leaving. I asked a guy who finally showed up behind the bar if we could get some beers and he said he'd be right back and then disappeared. We finally got the beers and an app ordered delivered to our table. It was ridiculous to be in a brewery and have to wait a half hour for 2 beers when we were literally the only customers in the place!! For a second we debated a second round of beers but both came to the same conclusion - let's get out of here asap!! Voodoo seems to be doing something right based on the reviews, but it sure wasn't doing that on the day we visited. read more

I was on vacation visiting friends last weekend. They introduced me to this unique brewery. It has plenty of parking even for a Sat night. In a snapshot.... delicious food and superb beer. Who needs anything else? The place was packed on Sat night. It is a seat yourself place, but we (5 people) easily found a spot at the huge family style tables. On Saturdays, they often have a local band. We tried the pickle pizza, and I was happily surprised as soon as I bit into it. It's an unusual pairing, but it was yummy and satisfying. I haven't ever seen that dish on a menu before. Sadly, there is not a franchise in my city. I guess I'll have to make a return visit to VA Beach soon and often. read more

I went to the bar to order drinks (as I am not a beer fan) had several options, but I think they were all premade cocktails. So far we have tried Mushroom & Swiss burger, Chicky Chicky bang bang burger, Cape Henry Caprese pizza, Tacos, Bayside beer cheesesteak (the best!!), Pub chips are given with the sandwiches and fries are an up-order @$3. All tastes great and comes out of the kitchen fast. Sit at the bar if you want service because they do not provide table service. There is a water station if you want water. There is also a tray at the back that has napkins, utensils, take out supplies etc. Pretty much a self-service type of place. The beers are numerous and listed on the boards above the bar. They have mixed drinks also. You use the QRcode to order and access pricing and detailed descriptions of menu items.. Or, you can go up and order at the bar. While the food came out quickly on the last visit, the person who delivered the food never did bring out the beers. Pay at the bar. I hate making reviews like this... Not the worst, but not the best. And maybe it's just me, idk. I went in today with my husband and we ordered quite a bit because the menu sounded promising. I got the crab dip and pickle pizza. My husband got the nachos and burger (can't remember which one). The crab dip was *chefs kiss* really good. The chips that came with it were a bit oversalted, but I wasn't mad at it. The pickle pizza is where it really let me down. I'm 8 months pregnant so I got the pickle cravings. It wasn't bad, but I felt there was something missing and I was so upset! My husband said his food was good and that the beer flight he got was good. The ambience was nice! I liked all of the colors, art, and doors on ceiling. It really gave a "voodoo" vibe. Staff that we encountered were friendly. I really enjoyed the (I'm assuming) manager. He kept coming by and checking on us, which was nice. The other thing I wasn't crazy about was when you walk in, it is soooo confusing! We didn't know whether to find a server, grab a table, go to the bar, or to the kitchen window. It was throwing us off. But we figured it out!! When you go in, find a seat, and scan the barcode with your phone and the menu will pop up to which you order from. Once you place it, food comes out pretty quick so that's also a plus. I'm not much for breweries, but this was good. Their burgers were great. I had a cocktail and one of their beers. Both were very good. The service was a little bit self-serve, you order from an app and the food doesn't come out all at once. You don't have a regular server coming to check on you, but several people came by to see if we were ok. It's a casual space with tables made from pallets. read more
