    Egg refrigerators
    Brenda I.

Made the drive her mid week to avoid the crowds that line up for fresh eggs. There is a parking lot out front. Park your car and walk in. You'll see two large refrigerators with different types of eggs available for purchase with prices labeled. Grab whichever carton(s) you want and pay the ladies at the counter. They accept cash and credit cards. *special buy posted on the entry door today was ... 100 Jumbo eggs for $50.

Since I was heading down this direction anyways, I decided to stop by this egg ranch to stock up on some eggs as it has the best reviews on Yelp in this direction. I came here Saturday morning around 9:00am and there weren't that many people. Lots of parking spots available. Since I'm stocking up, I decided to get a box of the jumbo eggs $75 (100 eggs). I was told by the girl working here that some of the jumbo eggs could be double yolk as I asked about double yolk. We'll see about that. They had a fridge section for smaller quantity. I got the box straight from the girl at the counter. I'll update my review once I tried the eggs but am very happy with the easy process and the friendly service. They had a few girls working in the front ready to assist. Update: so we tried the eggs and thought it was good as it's fresh eggs but had better. Also found a baby size egg which was a bit disappointed that they don't actually check the eggs before packaging. Due to this issue, I'm downgrading to 3.5 stars. Service was great but am not sure I'd be back for 2nds. There was another place with high reviews. I'd check that place out for comparison and maybe give this place another try. "Maybe"

Great value and the freshest eyes around! Prices have come down significantly since the pandemic.

We were referred to this Egg Ranch by my husband's co-worker who had been going here for years. You do smell the farm as you get closer, but that's doesn't matter to me. Just as long as I could get reasonably priced eggs, that's all that matters. Parking is very limited. We were lucky to find parking when we arrived but by the time we left, the parking lot was packed. We didn't arrive early once they opened so they ran out of the Jumbo flat and only sold it by the dozen. Plus, you are limited to only buy 2 flats per person. I ended up buying a flat of Xlarge eggs. The prices here are extremely reasonable compared to the grocery stores cost of $8.99 a dozen and more if you wanted the jumbo size eggs. I paid $17.50 for a flat of Xlarge eggs, which comes to $7 per dozen. Normally, I buy jumbo eggs for less than $4 at Trader Joe's, but because of the bird flu they haven't been selling any eggs. The service was quick and the ladies behind the register were friendly and even put a cover for my flat so that the eggs won't roll off. Great customer service! The distance is a bit from where we live, but I really don't mine. Next time I will come early to get the jumbo eggs.

Fresh eggs at a better price. The manure they sell keeps my lawn lush and green year-round, and a bountiful harvest of Vegetables and tomatoes are super tasty,

Fast service, grab what you want and take it to the counter. It's a very small area when you walk in and it was a little crowded. The service was fast and friendly. 20 eggs for $8.50 The drive was a bit much, the roads are horrible getting to this place and you do pass the cow farms which will for sure clear out your sinuses! I saw this place online and thought I'd give it a try.

Ask the Community - Voortman's Egg Ranch

Are the chickens pasture raised and organic?

I don't know about the pasture-raised part of the question, but no, the eggs are not organic. I sent them an email asking about that specific question. I asked if the chicken were fed organic food. I certainly appreciated their candor when answering…

Are the eggs fresh from that morning?

Are the eggs organic? What are they fed?

They do have an email address and a phone number which they encourage people to use and contact them. I emailed them to specifically ask if the eggs were organic, if the chicken feed they use was organic, and the answer was no. I asked them because…

How do they treat their chickens?

The chickens are not visible from the store, so unless you request a tour, that is a tough question. They are not free range not labeled organic or pasture raised.

If you are Dutch, or even a wannabe, you will be delighted. The last time I came here was at least a decade ago, but one bakery item stuck in my head all these years. I wondered if I could still find it. It was a thick cookie filled with delicious almond paste. After receiving a very friendly greeting, I wasted no time in asking about said cookie, and by golly, they had it. A different brand, different shape, but the same delicacy. Go straight to the refrigerator section to pick up a package of Almond Fingers. Irresistable. Finding this was way too easy, so I figured I needed to browse some more. The store clerk escorted me around, telling me about their products and answering all my many questions. She pointed out another favorite Dutch cookie, a crisp cookie great for dunking, shaped like a windmill. This is loaded with a wonderful blend of "Christmas" (my words, not hers) spices, and not too sweet. In case you are wondering, a small package landed in my shopping bag, too. And once home, it passed my taste test with 10/10 stars. In spite of being small, the store also carries a delightful inventory of canned and packaged goods and even some cute, Dutch knick knacks, like blue and white ceramic spoon holders and salt & pepper sets. You will find their candy section full of many options, including several brands of Dutch chocolates and real Dutch licorice. I love adventures like this! I only wonder why there is no such thing as a Dutch themed café in this area. We are missing out.

The meat market is connected to the restaurant (same ownership/management), and the meat quality never disappoints. My favorites to buy are the chorizo and the marinated chuck steaks. They also sell the restaurant's salsas in the market, along with totopos, corn and flour tortillas, seasonings, and more. It does get busy, but with the growing popularity (thanks, TikTok), that's expected. Bring a little patience if you visit on a busy day. The market itself is small with limited standing room, but the guys behind the counter know this and move quickly to get your order packed. The restaurant side is busy too, and it's gotten even more so since I first found it. I'm honestly glad I found this place. They have my favorite tacos in the IE. Before this, I'd still drive to OC for tacos because nothing here matched what I was looking for. Now this is my go-to spot. My favorite thing to order is the taco special: 3 tacos with a drink (agua fresca or canned soda), or 5 tacos with a drink. They offer a great variety of meats at no extra charge -- my favorites are al pastor and carne asada. They also have a solid lineup of Mexican food: birria, sopes, nachos, burritos. My daughter loves the burritos -- it's her backup spot when she can't make it to her favorite shop. Every dish I've tried has been fresh, with generous portions. Nothing sits around getting cold, because most food is made fresh as you order it -- which is exactly why there's a bit of a wait on busy days. While you wait, hit the salsa bar. The pickled jalapeños (I believe house-made) are excellent, and the pickled onion/habanero mix is a must-try if you like spice. I recommend most of the menu -- you really can't go wrong. The restaurant and restroom are both very clean. Parking can be a little tricky on busy days but usually clears up quickly. Prices run a bit higher than other spots, but it's worth it.
