I was told at 4:45 pm that my pet had been bathed and was dry now they were going to do the grooming. If they would have answered their phone after calling 3 times I could have at least been informed of the status of my pet. I tried to respond to the text they sent me at 1 pm and I got a response that I cannot send text messages to that number. Normally it takes 2-3 hours and that would be fine if I could have communicated with them. I am waiting in the parking lot for the them to finish grooming. The groomer Stephanie could have been more understanding. It was as if she was uncomfortable with me checking in on the status of my pet. I will not be returning to this location. I do not feel valued as a customer.

The very frequent use of leash popping for a dog "thinking evil thoughts" just didn't sit right with me. My main issue is that I don't want my dog heeling (or doing any other behavior) with her tail between her legs in fear, I want her eagerly and enthusiastically participating. So I gave it a new command and used positive reinforcement only, and her body language completely shifted. Another example is the labeling of a dog as "having a temper tantrum" because it wouldn't listen to a "down" command. This is probably anthropomorphizing and not evidence-based. The trainer's advice to step on the leash and wait ultimately didn't work to get the dog in a down, and he looked very physically uncomfortable.

Called BluePearl and they hinted itd be several hours wait so checked out Affordable Animal Emergency here. Parked on the street and they had us come in right away. They were upfront that its a $159 diagnostic. Turned out it was a UTI for the dog, so $40 antibiotic shot, $30 for antibiotic pills. Then I requested something for the pain, which they gave the dog an injection that would last 18 hours, $80. So it all came out to $300-ish which i was surprised, I thought itd be more for an emergency visit at 2am, complete with diagnostic and treatment. Granted, xrays/ultrasound wasn't conducted but there wasn't need. Our dog is back to her old self after a couple days and we're thankful there's a 24 hour vet in Auburn!

While the groom itself looked fine, my dog was cut near his private area and this was not disclosed to me. My dog is very reactive -- there is no way this injury went unnoticed. The groomers requested I bring him in so the vet can take a look at th grooming injury and for me to be eligible for a refund. He was prescribed both a topical and oral antibiotic that he needs to be on for 2 weeks. This was presented as them "making it right," even though the visit was necessary solely due to their mistake. When I requested my refund, I was initially offered only $20 on a $140 grooming bill. After insisting, they agreed to a full refund -- and then immediately removed me as a client, meaning I now must also find a new vet as well. There was no empathy, accountability, or concern shown for my dog's wellbeing. Since the incident, my dog has been uncomfortable, wearing a cone, refusing to use the bathroom, and barely eating. I've had to rearrange my schedule and miss work to care for him. Mistakes happen. But how a business responds to them matters -- and this response was unacceptable.
